    Newcomers from Ukraine

^This. I rarely venture beyond General Discussion unlike some of the more adventurous types here. This is also why I only now spotted this thread, rather belatedly, but nonetheless welcome to the EU forum!

Apart from raving like a lunatic? I don't think so. Some of the missions may be doable in coop too. Obviously not the XP and credits related ones. For potential damage I used big BB's, for damage alternated between DD's and BB's.

2nd most powerful naval force in the world.

    Missing Naval Ensign (mod)

In my considerate view, lots of the events at least WG has run have done exactly that, glorified the Soviet state and ideology.

Played one battle with 'Pyotr'. The guy keeps shouting like a raving lunatic all the time. Still.. at least the name (Captain and Ship, ensign as well) now looks non-controversial to me. Yes. I'm removing controversial content from my official resources because I don't believe it needs to be part of the official experience World of Warships has to offer me. The Rising Sun flag, obviously, gets to stay.

Peter who? It's here but... https://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/sales-and-events/missions-0115/ Time ends early tomorrow morning so ... it's doable if you really want to grind.

    Missing Naval Ensign (mod)

Exactly. The criminal Soviet paraphernalia is in the game, it's even in the vanilla client so WG is perfectly happy to break what is the law in several European countries. Apparently these countries don't feel like enforcing their own laws. WG should be forced to remove what actually is illegal content from their game, if not voluntarily, then by force. The Rising Sun flag, on the other hand, happens to be fully legal and in use by the JMSDF currently. The reason is not then 'good' in my book, so I don't find the situation acceptable. I'll make two 'fixes' myself. For one, I'd like to get my hands on a mod that wipes all the Soviet/Russian crap the **** out of my game, like replacing the relevant ensigns and flags with those of Ukraine. The other change that I will make is close my wallet for WG, effectively immediately and they won't get a red cent from me until they fix their 'fix'.

    Missing Naval Ensign (mod)

So.. when will WG retroactively fix this issue and get the Japanese Naval Ensign back? I agree with your second statement fully, and it was actually why I starting looking at flag mods currently but got sidetracked by the Rising Sun Flag issue. I don't think many people have even noticed this because the change has occurred since last update so they are still running old mods in the game.

Well.. at least the removal of the dispersion is a universal change. It's hard for me to say if this will be in my favor (or the enemy...), but I welcome the new 'naturalist' feel that I think I'm going to be embracing in my future battles. For the most part, at least. Where there is a historical camo pattern to choose for a ship, there I may choose to 'tart up' for the battle.

What is the role of the submarine in World of Warships?

Whatever their role might be, I think the best is if it ends up on the cutting-room floor.

    Free captain reset

Yeah.. like the old trick of hiding the free reset button somewhere inside a 20 page long news article....

This is why my original take on WG was so overwhelmingly positive, because I had seen what other game companies were doing, and WG seemed a lot more straightforward and honest by comparison. For reference, we are talking about something like 2013-2017 period here. Well.. scummy monetization does not necessarily drive me away or make me stop playing, but it does discourage me from spending much on the game. It's kind of balanced with the state of the gameplay meta which is another factor discouraging me from opening my wallet.

Important message to the Player Community

Well... the game is experiencing many old issues, some gameplay related, some promotional, economic.... there are so many that I wonder if there's anyone at WG who actually keeps track of all them. Do they prioritize any? Do they even see them as issues like us players do? As for gameplay, the biggest problems from my PoV currently are the subs and the 'good olde' (no not really) HE spammers... in smoke... the dodgy spotting mechanics... but I'd be a little happier if the subs were 'fixed' at least. I also don't like the maps we have, we had better maps in rotation in the past and I can't see any good reason for removing those. Also, the Ocean is too rare. The combination of questionable monetizing and dodgy gameplay mechanics makes this game feel like a toxic concoction at times. There are still good battles there, dynamic, well paced and fun... interestingly they have something in common. The 'griefer' ships and boats are missing. It's straightforward positioning, maneuvering and gunnery with no gimmicks. That's the 'winning' recipe and it's IMO what this game originally was like.

    Oldest WOWS Player

Quite unexpectedly I'm one of the young 'uns here. Let's remember that WoWS is a game for 'fifty year olds of all ages'. Sometimes tempers may flare up which is understandable, the main thing is to avoid personal insults, make sure that what happens in the battle stays in the battle. And have fun, of course! Fair winds and following seas!

Why is Tier X cheaper than Tier IX?

Okay, so... without discounts with upgraded hull and fire control the price for Sov. Soyuz is 28.7 mil., and for the Kremlin 27.5 mil. Yeah.. tier X is cheaper than tier IX.
  16. Karasu_Browarszky

Why is Tier X cheaper than Tier IX?

No way is Sov. Soyuz that expensive. The list price is 15 900 000.
  17. Karasu_Browarszky

    About the upgrade discount

I meant in the sense of getting the best possible bonuses, especially for credits and XP to make the grind a slightly less painful experience.

    About the upgrade discount

I noticed on PTS that you can select some pretty impressive looking economic bonuses. No idea, admittedly, how that will work in practice and how much will those bonuses actually cost to get per ship but... to me it looked like the higher bonuses seemed generous enough to question whether you will need to run a premium account or not.

    Transformers article broken.

The missions are the same for both.

    Oldest clans

https://clans.worldofwarships.eu The Clan page (on in game) has Clan Members; if the original Clan Commander is still on the roster, his joining date should be the Clan registration date if I've understood it correctly. There is no date, but a running tally of the days the commander's been in.
  22. Welcome to the forum, then. This is where you will find the fun and engaging part of this game.
  23. Karasu_Browarszky

    Oldest clans

Well.. WoT supposedly inspects every clan emblem before they get ok'd. A similar procedure should work in WoWS as well.

This probably counts as my best achievement today, literally, because I've never even heard of a 'Crash Tester'.

    Connection issue

Interesting how this is an issue for some and not for others. Still, good thing it's working now, of course.
