But.. you can get SC's about every 8th day if you really want them. And it's a lot cheaper too! Having said that, the fact you get those with X's (and the Superships being out there) are very likely the reasons why I'm placing T9's on lower priority right now.

    About the upgrade discount

At least we think it should. Also, I haven't paid much attention to this change, TBH, and it looks like the signal flag (economic, xp, etc.) bonuses will now remain consumables but in only a different format. If you buy a premium camo after the change, will those bonuses become baked in the ship same as with the camos you now have? Umpteenth edit. So if you want permanent bonuses and not consumbles, you buy the premium camo, is that it?

Well.. the poedit stuff is slightly beyond me, but the tool is pretty easy to use. Has to be, if even I could figure it out.

There's a tool you can use for that. Somewhere in the mods section. Another way is to find a mo to po file converter, and then use poedit to do the changes. The latter method might be easier if you plan to do a lot of them. Either way, you can customize ship names, captain names, and basically any text element in the game if you want. The relevant .mo file is in the res folder/texts.
  15. Well.. there's two ways of looking at that. You can either go for a ship that matches your favored playstyle, or you can go for a ship that is sort of a generalist. You don't really know what kind of a battle you are getting when you press the button. IMO, it's difficult to learn to read the battle, at least for a casual player, so what I usually try to do is go by the numbers. This does not always go well, of course, because, generally speaking, the game design does not seem to suit my tactical preferences. Also, the team does not always share the same ideas about how to do the battle, so that's one more limitation for you. WG has chosen an approach which gives a different handicap to the ships of different nations, and also there are difference within a national tech tree like the original US BB line. Now there two lines as well. This approach, in my opinion, has not been the ideal one... In short, some sort of a classification system would be very welcome. The best players can interpret the stats and armor schemes, but the casual players like me cannot, at least not so easily. The UI could even include such a tool. You feed in the parameters you are looking for, and it would return an estimate in graphic form how well different ships match your required parameters.
  16. That's still quite a lot to remember and apply. For one thing, in order to make full use of something like this, you'd also have to be able to recognize what exactly is supposed to trigger each of these functions in battle. This is something that would have to be virtually automatic for the player.
  17. A little too 'expansive' IMO, if I may say so. Also, some of these roles are pretty much defunct in the current meta which tells you something about how successfull WG's been in developing the game. Like, for instance, I used to run several AA cruisers back in the day. What are they good for now? Not much, except making sure there is no CV in the game. And that is a good thing too, because they'd be laughably bad even if having a fully specced AA build.

Leisure Suit Larry had questions only an adult could (or should...) know. Of course, that was in the pre-Internet era before anyone had even ever heard the phrase 'Google it'.... I googled it.... https://www.classicgaming.cc/pc/leisure-suit-larry/age-quiz

    Missing Naval Ensign (mod)

Thanks for your reply. I consider myself mostly normal, though somewhat interested in matters historical, and I feel brave enough to venture as far as to say that most normal people in this world would not feel one way or the other about any flag, except possibly those of their own respective countries.

    Missing Naval Ensign (mod)

I don't know if anyone else has noticed but... Something seems to be missing in the mod section: ... and in the Official Modstation flag section... the Rising Sun Flag is missing. I still have it in game, because I've downloaded it from the mod forum. I've been mostly using the Rising Sun Flag mod by @fugetsu Fortunately, it is still usable as the format is now different from what it was originally. However... is there a good reason for it being missing? By 'good' I mean something that is acceptable. I'm also going to ask this same question on the SEA English forum to see what sort of answers I'll get there. https://forum.worldofwarships.asia/topic/56250-missing-naval-ensign-mod/

  23. Yes, I agree with what OP is saying. This isn't necessarily about intra-class combat roles, though, but more about ship specific differences, their strengths and weakness. It would be a good idea whether with pictures or in a verbal format to relate to the players what they are good for. As a relatively modest casual player, I mostly go by the combat role expectations, but I'd find something that goes into a little more detail helpful to let me optimize the ships combat abilities better. Cynical or not, it just doesn't seem like WG shares our interest.
  24. You got it. That's what the meta is now. A complete mish-mash of universal pointlessness.
  25. The roles should matter, but in practice they barely do. Which is why most battles don't feel like battles but more like trying to take a bath in a salad bowl. Roughly about as enjoyable as well.
