Too much TK'ing ingame report system needed
OldGrandad replied to G01ngToxicCommand0's topic in Archive
Back this up with screenshots and better still a replay. Only by having evidence will we be able to keep on top of this. -
A mature and reasonable person would just ignore as responding just fuels toxicity. If you choose to swear you will soon find the door unlocked ready for you to leave.....

No, I believe it is 50% of Random values but someone may be able to confirm that or not.

Hello Azmo, The reason that they are not announced sooner is that they have to be thoroughly tested to ensure they are fit for purpose. There will be quite a few addition with the new patch as well as issues that need to be resolved (you guys have been requested to test issues by Shepbur in this post) so watch this space Duca

Alpha Tester version; 1. 2. 3. 4. Enjoy

This 100 times over. ***I do the most bizarre things sometimes with which I would not do once the game goes live (once a tester always a tester!). Waving your danglies at everyone else is to me asks the question about what do we think of that person? Lets leave stats personal and not have them on show, anyone with a sense of intrigue can search anyone up. ***This is merely my own personal opinion and no seals were clubbed in the creation of this post.

I am hoping one will get created very soon™ as there are so many threads being started in General with questions of problems.

Currently I would say the balance is good as you can score fatal critical hits with both torpedoes and shells. So, BB;s fired corks? Joking aside you are so far and wide of the mark I will correct you. We all know HE ARE explosive so a little about AP; "Ideally an AP shell should survive penetration and burst inside a ship, using a delayed-action fuse activated by the shock of hitting armour. The same shock should not be allowed to set off whatever explosive filled the shell. There was clearly a fine line between a sufficiently powerful detonator and one so sensitive that it would prematurely detonate an AP shell." ** Excerpt from Norman Friedman's book, Naval Firepower

Unfortunately for some this (wonderful) game will not work on the same hardware that WoT requires. WoWs is a much more demanding game for graphic chips so many will find that some onboard chips (Pc's and laptops) will not be sufficient to run the game. Below are the requirements to run the game; Ship models are far more intricate than tank models for instance so there is a lot to render in battle. But, why one map is causing an issue and the other maps are fine is beyond me I am afraid. The only logical thing I can think of is that your Big Race map is corrupt hence the graphical anomaly. You may hate me for suggesting this but try to install again and see if this cures your 'faulty' map. Let us know.

Without knowing what is running on your PC I will make a few suggestions. Now, I have not tried this so cannot say whether this will work. Try starting in safe mode with network so the basics are running and try then. (I really should test this myself). When downloading from the launcher ensure you have 'Allow torrents' unticked (In the Launcher window, at the top right there is a small spanner icon for settings, click there to reveal 'Update Installation Options'. Disable any program from starting with Windows that is not needed; Trying to think of something else but I need another coffee for my brain to function........ Let us know if anything helps.

This thread is spiralling out of control so I want to put some clarity on things. Firstly nothing in the game in its own right is OP, period. Some ships are better at their tier (St.Louis and Cleveland are good examples) and that is about it. CV's, BB's, DD's nor CA's are OP in their own right, period. I have probably played more battles throughout testing than most (I am super-testing at this moment) and we constantly test everything about the game you care to mention (I am currently testing scout planes for instance, yawn inducing I can tell you!). The parameter that throws the proverbial spanner in the works and that is human intervention as no player is the same in how they play. A player can have no true grasp of game mechanics nor what can possibly happen in game so will fail miserably (and in this case complain about something that is OP). If you grasp what can and may happen in game and are ready for that possibility you will do so much better and that includes the evasion of torpedoes. One poster included a screenshot of them being attacked from 2 sides by torpedo bombers. Firstly the poster should have seen the 2 flights well in advance and start to make erratic moves to make the CV captain try a different approach to attack. But what was plainly obvious the poster was target fixated on the carrier and that was his downfall, hunger for a kill. As you may have witnessed, it is the vocal minority that are shouting the loudest and whilst it is their prerogative to voice opinion it is by no means correct. If the majority voiced their opinions and they all were opining similarly there may be a case to answer. What is obviously lacking and that is skill but that comes with practice and tuition so instead of complaining try learning from your mistakes and listen to other much more experience players. There will be guides published soon by Tuccy™ so keep an eye out for them. Sail on captains.

Don't give torpedos to [edited] (my team mates)
OldGrandad replied to Masternaut's topic in General Discussion
That in fact is a bannable offence so supply a screenshot (better still a replay) and raise a ticket to report them. That sort of behaviour does not belong here. -

Golden Rule for firing torpedoes. Fire your torpedoes ONLY when you are in front of your allies and not behind them. Golden Rule for everyone else. Watch out for the blind player behind you firing their torpedoes at you as it is your fault if you do not see them as they did not see you. (tongue in cheek) But the reality is there will be players who think their torps with a 5km range will magically last another 15km and hit a far away enemy. We have to make allowances for all sorts of bizarre game play and until they realise their limitations, or at least the ships they sail in limitations, friendly fire will remain. -
In battle, press CTRL+G to turn off GUI and again to turn it back on. Don't forget to post any dramatic shots you take!

Far from an 'instakill' in 9 times out of 10. And it is 6 planes each dropping 1 torpedo. This subject has been flogged to death and the best advice is to remain aware at all times if you see planes or even a DD do not remain static** or sail straight. **I have not seen such poor gameplay from so many sailing BB's, Yesterday I saw so many BB's (even some other classes at times) stopped still in the water, either in the open or trying to 'hide' behind an island a truly facepalm tactic. Keep moving at all times, change course regularly (zig-zag), and you will find you will evade torps and even shellfire more often than trying to replicate an island by being stock still.

Well done guys, in fact not long ago had my best result ever (but still on the losing team!) in my Omaha. Only cruisers sunk (BB's damaged) and had 225k damage overall and 275k credits. My PC crashed after that excitement!

Game closes after making changes in the settings
OldGrandad replied to Tailshot's topic in General Discussion
I heard about this earlier. I will suggest raising a ticket to support, the more that report this issue the better. -
Ahoy me hearties, I have hornswaggled the name! I will look at that and more when time permits but welcome creative and apt suggestions none the less.

All, I have created some custom signatures from the log in movie, details in this post

BUG: AA guns doing nothing to aircraft.
OldGrandad replied to VigilanteMerc's topic in General Discussion
Tier 6, terrible? The Cleveland is a floating AA barrage and is leagues above any other ship in its tier with its AA capabilities, in fact it is comparable to tier 8 ships. -
Hi guys, I empathise with your issues and believe me I want to see you all in game but I thing starting again tomorrow will help enormously. See you on the seas soon

Hi guys, there is a possibility the poor server is struggling to serve all the downloads! But, saying that if you have already got to the downloaded stage and are installing and are having issues that is a different issue. There could always be a possibility that some files became corrupted during the download so I suggest trying again tomorrow. Not great advice I know but I think it will help. Let us know.
