RNG is used in MM to describe randomness in a game, in our case for the dispersion and trajectory of the shells. Correctly, algorithms are used which have a random element (our RNG) inserted (but still set within parameters). Look at RNG being a coin-flip, you do not know which side up it will fall but you only have two choices so you are going to be there or there-about.

Ok, after constructive use of it in Training Battles I can safely say I am more accurate than this lead aim mod (am I a bot I ask now?.... sarcasm warm here). One thing is missing from any leading aim support and that is the human element. If you are in anyway observant of the enemy you will also see it fire and you can make your manoeuvre then to dodge the shells. Also this mod pollutes your screen with lead aim lines and red crosses which severely impacts visuals, ugly at best. But to reiterate, this still should not be used as it will in no way teach players to aim correctly and decisively. Another point to make is that good old dispersion means that any hits will be as random as ever no matter how accurate your aim is, any crits will still be at the mercy of RNG. Back to my vanilla ice cream.......

I am afraid they gave away NA beta keys like confetti compared to the EU. Like all others keep your eyes peeled as to whether there will be further openings (doubting that as OBT will be close so wait until then).

The only thing I can be thankful of regarding this cheat 'game simplifier for idiots©' is that this is early in CBT and there will be time for WG's devs to reverse the ability to use the 'game simplifier for idiots©'. I now realise why I like vanilla ice cream so much...........

Trust me I do not need a lead aim mod (and yes I would call that a 'cheat' if it is not a part of the vanilla game) as I am pretty good aiming wise. I fully agree that any 'tool' that takes away the skill of judgement as to when to fire would be seen as a cheat (like getting someone else to take your car test as you can drive but just not good enough to pass the test). The only thing they cannot do and that is to overrule the dispersion (RNG) of the shells thankfully. Believe me, I am 100% behind the blocking of such modifications. You will find that this is not WoWp! And yes, these players have a right to throw their arms in the air and complain. And yes, this is CBT and absolutely no mods that add what is not available in the vanilla game (apart from skins) should be allowed.

You are right, aiming is everything in this game, the deciding factor between an average player and a good one. I am an infrequent BB player so cannot comment at all regarding it's long range assistance but anything under 20km I am pretty accurate without any 'assistance'. TBH what I see in those screenshots are from Hooterez Carnival mod and I can tell you it is no assistance at all, just because it is graphically 'pretty' does not mean it aids you.

Hello DH, firstly we would need more finite details. At what exact point do you get kicked from the server? As you have done a few battles I do not think it is the specifications of your PC that is letting you down but a network issue. What sort of connection do you have (ADSL, fibre, speed etc)? Wireless/wired? What ping (ms) does it show in battle?

I read your post first yesterday but merely glossed over it but today read it through a couple of times to make sure I (tried to) understand your point(s) or message. This sort of drop is par for the course, initially it is interest and the drop comes from either lack of interest (the game does not suit them) or excitement (players logged on all at the same time to try the game out). The player count remains stable now with peaks and troughs but most of us really do have lives to live outside of the WG universe. The only correlation between WoT and WoWs is a partial share in players that play both not the game 'blindly following WoT'. Now, I see where this all started. Darthtanking mad a comment regarding the amount of battles he has partaken in and you it seems have taken umbrage with this. Calling him a bot is an insult and you really need to apologise to him for that remark. The fact Darthtanking has the win-rate that he has is not relevant it is how much he is enjoying the game that matters. Forget battle statistics, the only statistics you need to be concerned with are how many players are and currently the player base is quite healthy. As you think so highly of yourself as an accomplished captain (statistics that will not confirm that though) I am sure you will do well when floods of substandard (your poor choice of word) players come to us in OBT. My point. I really do hope we do not breed more opinions (as held by the above poster) as how on earth would that look for interested new players? Amen.

Well, we best ask and if the go ahead is given 'officially' show as to how to enable them. Will await Tuccy's intervention on that one.
-
Yes, replays have been re-enabled.
-
Curious as I am at work, have they reintroduced Training Battles?
-
Thanks for the heads up Tuccy. Sorry, grammar grandpa had to edit your post. For those that do not know the Murmansk was previously the USS Milwaukee before the lending of her to the Russians in 1944.

One question, are you using a proxy server within Internet Explorer?
-
Shep, regarding the Sound/Music bugs I am suffering those issues and that is only of late in the Beta client after their last 'mini' patch. Best way to describe as to how it happens is when going from normal to scope view then back again and you will lose the sound of your engines but you can hear everything else. Is it a stealth option?
-
Hello Spezct, I was aware of this yesterday and raised a ticket with support.

Regarding the TTS of the IJN destroyers it can range from 10% to nearly 50% quicker depending on ship. Bots, oh yes watch out for those damn bots! I appreciate the difficulties that may be offered on Ocean with DD's but it will open up a raft of possible tactics. One I suggested in testing was for a DD to hide behind an ally BB and slowly get closer until DD drops back and unleashes torpedoes on an unsuspecting enemy (who would normally only expect heavy shells!). We will see....

Testing, testing, testing one two three. Boring? Repetitive? Yes but necessary to ensure it works. We are in a stage that enormous amounts of data needs to be collated (there, I am saying it again) and as much as you all have 'ideas' and they are welcome feedback, what is not needed is the repetitive complaints that nothing (seemingly) is not being done. You have proceeded to post yet another negative post and as for the last comment (highlighted) is laughable. A few weeks into CBT and expecting to have it on a plate ready to serve? Shepbur has highlighted the issues some players have admirably and you would do well to take note and actually get back to being a tester instead of a soapbox commentator.
-
I still cannot fathom why testers players are complaining about boredom when we have as yet had no update to the relatively new CBT client. We all know more content will be coming to the CBT and that will help alleviate the 'boredom' some are suffering from. The problem with testing is repetitiveness but a good tester will recognise that and continue testing to ensure that there is plenty of data to collate. This vital data will enable changes to be made that will make the game more balanced so what you are all do is important and should be looked at that way. I am sorry for those that are 'bored' but for me I play few battles at a time and walk away and have another session later and that stems the repetitiveness for me. But, let me put it this way, I would rather play this for 24hrs solid than play Farming Simulator for one minute!
-
Well it shows you as never played the Omaha yet but never the mind. I can tell you that they are both just as good at their tiers as the Cleveland is at tier 6. Learn to use their torpedoes and never get into a brawl with other ships and you will come out on top. As I say, 17 battles (at time of post) is not enough to judge.
-
Hello Vulgarny, If you want 'boring' as you call it come in to my world where repetitiveness is the keyword. I along with my fellow Supertesters go over and over the minutest things to ensure they are fit for Beta and from there tested by yourselves to ensure they will be fit for the end game. You, as Beta testers by playing the game are providing much needed data on balance etc so your involvement is important in the scheme of things. I do not mean to seem harsh but if you feel this testing is not for you feel free to hang up your boots and go as there are ten more willing to fill your spot. To be honest as you have played, nay tested many ships I think your input is more welcome than some others so put aside your feelings of 'boredom' and carry on your good work.
-
Quite an extraordinary thing to say considering we are only a few weeks out of the Alpha stage. Whilst I would say your points would be valid for a ready to release game we certainly are not there yet. Obviously certain games appeal in certain ways and for me the interest in warships of this era takes precedence over overly accurate game mechanics. If you are bored and cannot bare testing any further because of the points you raise then leave by all means but to raise them so early is really not constructive at all. I would have rather given some more time knowing testing is ongoing (behind the Beta client) and only when the release date was imminent, raise concerns (if I had any). Best wishes with your onward adventures.

This +1. I love the historical skins (definitely not the anime type) and anything that in my eyes graphically enhances the game but nothing else. I use skins plus the 'Alt' mod which only overlays the distance/time info on to the scope view just without holding down the 'Alt' key so that to me is not offering anything else other than being lazy and not holding down a key!
-
It certainly is a 'Marmite' ship but it has one endearing feature it has a longer range than the Kawachi and it can be fun teasing that BB by staying out of range whilst peppering it....

Successful ONLY in the consumption of allied effort trying to sink her.... Not having seen the Tashkent before I have to agree that it is indeed a sleek beauty........ what is she doing on Saturday night...

Best suggestion. I am sure this is/has been considered so keep a look out for the upcoming patch notes.
