Guys, I want to thank you for some very interesting posts, your knowledge regarding CPU's and the games dependency on them far surpasses mine. I have only just got a new rig which is a significantly better system than my old one but the performance increase in game has far surpassed what I was expecting. My old rig - was giving me stuttering performance with the fps rising and falling from 1-2fps up to 70fps killing the game but my new rig - And now I am getting a more balanced experience without any FPS fluctuation at all. I am just curious as @cryonicangel has said, raising the FPS has impacted on CPU load and in turn appears to have impacted his FPS, that obviously shows the limitations of the engine, so why do it? Ok, the possible incoming of a 144mhz monitor but surely you would not get that just for WoWs? Anyway, I wholly agree with you regarding concerns over the developers seemingly not showing interest in better optimisation, if they were I wish they shared with us what their plans were.

Best response goes to zen_monk But realistically, with low numbers overnight the MM does its best to give players a battle and the higher the tier you have to expect something like examples shown. The OP's critique though, has been discussed often before so gets the virtual thumbs down I am afraid. (Another -1 for his nick as well, not exactly tasteful......)

It is absolutely fine as it is, why select what maps you want? Some maps suit different types of ship, accept it. Next question will be to have maps devoid of certain classes!

Firstly disregard any previous gaming experience as it will be completely irrelevant here in WoWs. You already have played low tier DD's as well as the South Carolina so you ought to be familiar with each ships strengths and weaknesses. Next time you are in port read each DD's attributes, torpedo range and concealment being the main points you need to study. With that in mind next time you are out in your BB with enemy DD's in the battle be aware at all times, sailing straight and true will get you in trouble so keep changing direction for instance. There are many good tutorial videos out there and I suggest that you watch a few to get a better understanding of both BB's and DD's and the tactics they need to use to be successful.

@Sybeck - I feel your pain, happened to teams I have been on too many times, they always try to get just a little more damage only to be annihilated, *sigh......

Ok, I am assuming you have the launcher and downloading from there. Not sure as to whether this will help but go to the launcher settings (small spanner symbol top right of launcher) and uncheck 'Allow torrents' and try again. If this fails please attach your dxdiag report to a reply. How to acquire your dxdiag report.

Hello TR_pilot, no disrespect meant from this observation but your failing is lack of damage caused to enemies. Damage equals credits so if you can start to try to do more damage regularly each battle you will find costs will diminish. But, I am no BB captain (only just got to tier 6) so I will hold back from commenting any further until I get to the NC (I had them all in CBT). All I can say is - Shoot the sh*t out of the enemy!

You are wrong, you obviously have that mentality that you have to kill everything. Capping is just one way to win victory, if it is done early it is because of the utter failure of the opposing team to not defend as well as attack. What the OP describes is indefensible in every way, if it was not punishable I would wipe those type of players off the map with impunity. Successful cap equals a win, killing all enemies equals a win, in my book whichever comes first suits me perfectly.

I would agree with the OP here as I recall I was 'hooked' in to WoWp when I saw an advert for it and up until then I had been a dedicated SP gamer for many years. But, you never know, WG may go for an all out campaign from the release date itself as it has a reasonable player base to build on already. We will see I guess...... *shrugs*

Hi Admiral, I suffered it a lot up until this week when I went over to my new PC. Now, it could be coincidence as my connection (54mb up and 3mb down) has not changed. It would be interesting if players could post their experiences, fps and ms fluctuations, time of day etc so we could at least try to get some sort of conclusion. Believe me, I was so darned frustrated with performance of late I had to stop playing as it was a 'stop start' experience throughout games, and although the ms remained relatively stable (32-34ms), the fps plunged from 70 down to 1 then back up again. My friends will certainly back me up on how frustrated I was!

Could you post system specs as for me the forum at the moment is working and displaying as expected.

Hmm, I had the same issue on my old rig (i5, 16gb ram, GTX650ti Boost) but have not had any since took delivery of my new rig which is much more powerful, (i5 Skylake oc'ed to 4.4ghz, 16Gbram and GTX 970). Same cable connection so all the difference was the graphical boost. Would be interesting to know your specs?
