I wasn't going to bother replying but this post I want to say my piece. Firstly, posts complaining about certain ships being OP are only posted by players who have been right royally beaten and having their a$$es hand to them on a plate by the 'OP' ship. I am currently on the Benson and I can assure you it ain't a walk in the park, sure it can be a sneaky sh1t 'invisi' firing but to sink a ship purely by guns alone takes a shed load of time. Oh, last night in a tier 10 battle a Fletcher handed my a$$ on a plate taking my guns out before sinking me, Benson OP? hell no. Sheesh.....

Love the damage it can deal but would so love to give up 10% of damage dealing ability to have 10% more durability.

I think we were spoilt by having the US and IJN cruiser lines first as both the GER and RUS CA lines are a bit of a disappointment after them. With the GER CA's, it was the first time I ever freed up XP to get past a ship (Yorck pre-buff) and I fear I may be doing the same with the RUS line if I feel the need to test the ships out (due to no chance on the PT, devs, why was that?). The Novik. For its tier the artillery was poor but manoeuvrability was pretty good, but for me, nothing really shone to make me enjoy the brief spell in the ship. The Bogatyr. probably best to judge it against the St.Louis and Aurora rather than the other cruisers but again, it felt like the poor cousin in the tier. The only plus point once fully upgraded was its range but then again only just! This ship only shows how strong the St.Louis is at this tier. The Svietlana. By now I am asking the question of this new line, why? I will start with the only positive I came up with for this ship, its torpedo angles, that is it. Worst performing cruiser by far, and by that I mean as a ship and not its armament. Manoeuvrability? It barely out turns the Myogi! Oh, and the stock turret turn time? A massive 1.5 seconds faster than the Myogi! As yet, although I have ground the Svietlana to gain enough XP for the Kirov, I am far from enamoured with this new line enough to actually purchase the Kirov. But of course I will, curiosity will get the better of me! To sum up the 3 cruisers I have tested so far, I would say that critical damage happens to them far too often to make the experience anyway enjoyable. Engines, steering and... oh I have not mentioned fire yet. I am going to pinch a well known German nickname from World War 2 when it came to the Sherman tank, they nicknamed it the 'Ronson' as it lights first time. For me, 'Ronson' is a perfectly apt nickname for the RU CA's, they certainly light up the battlefield!

You really should grind the ships instead of freeing XP to go up the tree as you will better understand the shortcomings of the RU CA line (there are a lot!). Still on the Svietlana and now knowing it stay at safe distance and use its 15 guns to best use, Torp angles are awesome and are a saviour when chasing or running. Kirov has the best HE and AP damage until you get to tier 9!

If you have issues like yours, Alt+F4 out of the game and then re-enter the game. Hopefully you will get full control of the ship again and not too much damage!

Smoke boundaries is your problem, deselect that one and all will be well.

Ensure you have the latest version of Aslains for this current patch, earlier ones will create earlier update numbered folders. All files should be in res_mods\0.5.3.2 folder.

Some PC manufacturers that may suit your needs. Ginger6 DinoPC Yoyotech Chillblast There are many more but reality dictates that you really need to save a little more money to get a reasonable PC.

Don't knock yourself or others. You are still so very new to the game with a lot to learn. Read tutorials and watch streams and videos alike to learn a bit more. Take care and have fun.

Looking at your profile you have fast tracked to tier 8 and have failed to understand the abilities of other ships (especially DD's). From tier 5 onwards selective ships (predominantly DD's) can 'invisifire' meaning they can fire without being detected whilst staying at a determined range from their target. Please learn what is possible before complaining, hard to swallow but it is the same for all.

Firstly no. If you do not have patience I would suggest trying another game. But, you say 1 to 2 hours free and that is more than enough to play battles and progress. Then, when a Public Test comes around (soon for the Soviet/Russian cruisers) register your interest and try all sorts of ships out.

On a second note, age is not a hurdle merely a moment in time, you will learn. If you are struggling at the moment do you have a friend or relative that can give you some help if you are unsure? Are you aware of Aslains mod pack? Easy to use and one of the mods actually adds the option for having a multi-server option.

I have got the extra zoom out working (ones in the installer give you that distorted port view). This will mean a bit of editing of the consumersCamera.xml file in the res folder. Firstly copy the original file in res and drop it into res_mods\0.5.3.2. Now, for the editing and for this I wholly recommend Notepad++. If using Notepad++ scroll down to line 911 as below; The original lines of code look like this for non Notepad++ users; As you see, I have left a gap and that is where you need to insert the below lines of code (for Notepad++ users the lines that need to be added are from 912); Save. As you have copied the original camerasConsumer.xml you will have the relevant controller keys already in the newly edited file so will not get any issues in game. I am using the extra zoom out now without any issues whatsoever, Hope that helps those that want an extra zoom out.

Ok, from the top. (firstly assuming you are originally using the EU client). Once opening scripts_config.xml (best done with Notepad++), the lines of code you should look for are as below; To enable other regions add all or just the line of code for the region you want after the EU region and before </server> So it now looks like this; All you have to do is to save the file. One thing that some forget, you have to set up accounts in each of the regions for this to work (you may be lucky enough to use the same nickname). Another thing to consider, is when at times of patch changes, until the EU server is updated to the same version you will not be able to connect to an already updated region. Hope that helps.

Ok, some players here have their proverbial knickers in a twist (an old English saying) about smoke. I will give you an example. For those that have been fortunate to buy a new property will find the decor not quite to their desire. You repaint it, same room but now how you like it. Mods are your 'paint', if you want a new decor feel free to use them otherwise STFU and leave those that want different (read allowed) decor alone. If you disagree with what is allowed officially speak your mind with the developers and not to whine about those that want what is legitimately on offer. Pffft. As a DD, CA and BB player I appreciate all is that on offer especially the subject of this thread. I bid you all goodnight fellow forum goers.

In Aslains there is a counter that is added to the capture icons so gives you an idea how long you need to be in the cap to capture it, simple but effective. I am so attractive to him that has has to un-ignore me to see if I replied to say I loved him..... Reality says he is pure troll in heritage. That is what I thought, if the counter was only implemented to display the players own smoke duration and not others it would be handy. (How many have stopwatches by their PC to time it!).

A good idea (like there is a counter for base capture) but may be difficult to implement as ships have different times for smoke duration.

Oh, so a developer made mod released openly can be regarded as a cheat? Wow you are none too smart. All it does is highlight a smoke boundary which (the smoke that is) you cannot see in scope. No it is not and for your information was created by one of the devs so can be treated as trusted. Mods add to the game and not detract, all are merely cosmetical. If you want the vanilla game so be it, if you want a slightly modified crosshair (the original is awful in high res) again, you have a choice. Horses for courses.

The reason for this is because both camera zoom and smoke screen boundaries bot create camerasConsumer.xml but as smoke boundaries is installed last it overwrites and camera zoom file. Enabling Smoke boundaries and camera zoom out
