To be honest, Dido should be a regular. Tier 6 in a CL-AA line. As for more CLs, it is time to dust off the graphics I have again: USN: IJN: RN: Those trees above, plus a whole bucket load of premiums. It's food for thought. Also got to bear in mind such possibilities as German tier 7 and 8 CLs, using an Eendracht conversion at tier 7, and Hipper as designed with 5.9" guns at tier 8. Though any further tiers would have to be in the realms of fantasy, like Roon & Hindenberg.
-
I would expect Dido to be a tier 6 in an RN CL-AA branch, hopefully with no AP only stupidity. Bellona (or insert sister ship here) as a T5 premium (Other choices for the T5 CL AA). Helena (St Louis class) a T8 prem. Brooklyn a T7 regular. Capitani Romani as a T10 DD.

Well, I believe Shira needed a nerf, but only from the stance that in 5s it could put out more torpedoes than the Shima, which isn't that good for the line as a whole. 8s is not much of a difference however, and for those tiers, I would prefer the return of the 30s booster, with an 8s one being introduced at say tier 8 or 9. Losing smoke for that ability does seem a fair trade. However, I would go for a complete re-work of the IJN DD tree anyway. Again. Considering that effectively we have a smaller DD line in Hatsu & Shira, only to be topped with the larger DD which ideally should be something in the line of larger DDs. How about this one for size? II Umikaze Kaba III Wakatake Momi IV Isokaze Kawakaze V Mutsuki Minekaze VI Ayanami* Hatsuharu VII Akatsuki Shiratsuyu VIII Asashio Kagerō IX Akizuki Yūgumo X Yamazuki (Design V7) Shimakaze *= It isn't even Ayanami without the 3 turret option (plz gib), but at this point, it sure as hell isn't Fubuki. It is definitely not perfect, but doesn't require that much work, and attempts to place the larger ships (less stealth, larger dimensions/firepower) on the left, with the smaller, hopefully stealthier ships to the right (Could throw in better torps on that line as well), though with some clashes, and similarity (Asashio is smaller than Kagero, but I would have to rely on the WG balance fist for those differences). Of course there would be some balancing changes. Akizuki & V7 get their overmatch pen values fiddled with, possibly with some consumable additions. -

British battleships incoming

I would say N3 and G3 would be the tier 9s in their respective RN BC and slow BB lines. Given a suitable modernisation. They won't stay out of the game forever though I agree they would not fit in the first RN BB line to come out, assuming the line includes KGV & Lion. It's not like they are the craziest designs anyway. Some of the H3 designs, M2 and L twin and triple are worse. -

G3 is more of a T9 candidate in my eyes, T9 in a BC/Fast BB tree. Slotting her in to the RN BB tree coming out would be a bit awkward anyway. -
Looking at it, Mutsu, Shinonome & d'Aosta are still there on high points because they are not played by many. Perth would be the same, but she has a reputation by being a good ship, but not well liked by some who find her awkward or just don't like a few of her stats. (Also Phlo - you missed the Cleveland - the only tier 8 in the list) Cleveland: 24 Shinonome : 22Mutsu : 22 Ryūjō (1/2/2) : 10Fusō : 19 Graf Spee : 9Warspite : 12Molotov : 8Budyonny : 11 Duca d'Aosta : 18 - 3 = 15 - The good AP and poor HE remind me of RN CLs AP only, since the HE is barely usable. Perth: 13 + 1 = 14 - Fun fact: Leander can't damage forts, but Perth can. Easily the best tier 6 in terms of a combination of fun and results for me. Dodges like a boss, and fires rack up over time.

There are a few renaming ship option mods around, which can satisfy your wish, though it would make the ship incorrect as it is Gallant (Pennant number, crest etc.), with Grenade's camouflage. And then there is the at the time experimental quintuple torpedo tubes on Glowworm.
-
Eh. Did not buy Hood. Because they made it a premium in the first place. And a lot of premiums don't really appeal to me. I seldom buy premiums unless I really like how they play, or it is a ship I like historically, either by family connection, or just liking it. Ramillies falls into the latter category. Eh, if it is worth the money, then yes. There are a lot of potential premiums out there, even with a large number of trees taking up a lot of ships.
-
C'mon Tuccy, they are not that hard to place ^^. They historically used the 15" supercharge, so they would hopefully do so in game, which gives them an extra punch over QE & Warspite. This, and the fact that they are smaller with a better armour layout meaning they are sturdier should make them a good alternative to QE at tier 6, perhaps starting a slow RN BB line off in the future. Basically sacrificing AA & Speed for firepower and armour. Maybe we could have Ramillies as a premium before the Arkhangelsk? Plz? Would buy.

Cleveland : 24Farragut : 5 Shinonome : 21Mutsu : 21 Ryūjō (1/2/2) : 10Fusō : 20Aoba : 2 Graf Spee : 15Warspite : 13Molotov : 7Budyonny : 11 Duca d'Aosta : 21 -3 = 18 - The really poor HE is a complete turn off for this ship.Perth: 12 + 1 = 13 - Best T6 cruiser. Stat. What Leander should be. Easily better than the others because she can dodge like no other, sneak around unseen, launch devastating torpedo strikes at decent range, has the firepower to do well, and a smoke screen if you want to use it. Most of the time I don't.

Gallant? Soon(TM). Or soon-ish(TM). (My guess anyway). Tuccy seems to have been scared away though.

Cleveland : 30 Farragut : 12 Shinonome : 19 Mutsu : 21 Ryūjō (1/2/2) : 10 Fusō : 18 -3 = 15 - Aaand lets peg the ship back a bit. Guns are decent, and there lots of them, but AA, maneuverability, concealment, armour? All are distinctly lacking. The mid-long range shotgun didn't exactly appeal to me, even if it does well. Aoba: 17 Graf Spee : 15 Warspite : 14 + 1 = 15 - Buffed to be more flexible to play, this ship can be even more of dominant force. Long range secondaries, guns that punch above their weight and are fairly accurate and a short turning circle. Those are some of the reasons this ship is my most played. Molotov : 10 Budyonny : 9 Duca d'Aosta : 23 Perth: 25

From those Dunkirk screenshots, I can at least recognise Medway Queen and what looks to be Tamzine. The former of those makes me quite excited for the collection. -
Well, they either don't care or want a few T3 seal clubbing machines to sell from time to time. Either way, it is bad and shouldn't be allowed to continue. To me, mediocre and average are basically the same thing. Lacklustre is one rung below that. All are acceptable, but if a ship gets to poor, below lacklustre, then there is cause for concern. But that is just my system. Eh, I don't play the Algerie passive, but this is the player who brawls with Hood and beats Gneisenaus with her. I don't particularly like long range spamming much, as shown by me not being overly fond of Budyonny. Guns are nice, but I like flexibility as well. Something that can do a lot of things, or at least adapt from situation to situation. In this case, Nurnberg is meh to me because her guns are a bit weak, at least pre-buff. Perth on the other hand, allows me to dart round, launch longer ranged fish, have extra range if needed, with not too bad HE+ AP. Her armour and concealment are not too bad either, and then there is smoke if so required, usually against tier 8s.
-
And yet it is only the AP that is really bad out of those, all the rest being around average to good etc. - Some ships are better at those aspects, but pay in other areas. Aside from her ammo choices, Yorck is a thoroughly average ship. Nothing is wrong with her, and hence she doesn't look like a joke. Especially if you regard Fiji, Myoko & Algerie as needing a nerf.

Cleveland : 29Farragut : 21Arizona : 7Shinonome : 18Mutsu : 20Ryūjō (1/2/2) : 8Fusō : 16 -3 = 13 - Not as good as Dunkerque. Aoba: 22Fubuki : 8Graf Spee : 21Warspite : 16 + 1 = 17 = We all know the best tier 6 BB anyway.Leander : 23Molotov : 16Budyonny : 11Duca d'Aosta : 26Perth : 35
-
To be honest, it seems I might have set off the demise of the Fubuki. Just need to save Dunkerque though, considering her guns are awesome, her speed is flexible, her armour can tank if angled. I disliked d'Aosta, mostly because of the very poor HE, which completely paled in comparison to my Perth. I would take Perth minus smoke over d'Aosta, though I would take Perth minus smoke over a lot of things. I guess it is also affected by what people have played. More people have played Buddy over Duca, and New Mex over 'Zona, and if their impressions were not good, then the result becomes predictable. Out of the ships left up there, I have not played Molotov, Arizona & Shinonome, so I guess it does not really apply to me much though. Still, New Mex going early is quite a surprise, considering the lumbering brick gives and takes punches with ease.
-
Well, I keep an eye on low tier balance since I don't want the same mistakes as WoT repeated here. Albert is a cause for concern on this. Well, mediocre ships are what should make up the majority of ships at each tier. Average, mediocre etc. - certainly there will be some stars, and some which are difficult to play, except when I apparently play them. Algerie was my best T7 cruiser damage wise. Easily able to bully other cruisers into submission, hence one part of me regarding her as OP and a prime candidate as a nerf, after the ridiculous Martel. NA players would obviously care for their ships a bit more, and that is a mixed bag, regarding many as bad, or never good enough. (I think I saw someone claiming anti-USN bias and that Fletcher was weak at some point in the past). Yorck was quite enjoyable and refreshing after the poor HE Nurnberg. FabulousMyoko was one of my early best performing ships at tier 7 when I was a fairly new player of about 7-8 months. Now I have all 6 variations made available to me of the ship, and it sill performs like a gem. Of course me being silly and not wanting to enjoy anything, I want that one nerfed as well. Indianapolis seems to be the one T7 cruiser I have yet to click with yet, though I have not played many games with her, and despite the anemic avg damage, has a 90% WR. Smoke/Heal are certainly huge balancing factors, though I hope the RN CAs don't receive them.
-
Well, they could have done that with Bismarck really, I think he/she would be more highly anticipated. Also, premium Hood means this:
-
I concur. I for one, have been all too eager to dispense with progression for historical/ish stuff in game. Seriously, screw RN AP at the low tiers, and Scharnhorst being hidden behind a paywall. I understand the logic behind it, and accept that it is there, but it doesn't satisfy me as a player.
-
*pokes Tuccy* - I think he is on holiday or something, but poke him anyway. He owes me some flags! Not like I will use them, but still.

Cleveland : 34Farragut : 20 Arizona : 6Shinonome : 17 Mutsu : 19 Ryūjō (1/2/2) : 8Fusō : 15Aoba: 22Fubuki : 20 -3 = 17 - Get ye hence. It may have many torps, but torps are a specialty these days. Graf Spee : 21Warspite : 16Leander : 26Molotov : 15Budyonny : 10Dunkerque : 7 + 1 = 8 - Best pen of the tier 6 BBs. Accuracy behaves itself usually. Fast & Flexible. BC life is great. Duca d'Aosta : 26Perth : 35 With such good ships as Anshan, Independence & New Mexico gone, my faith in the forum community (or a select part of it) has been severely rattled. Especially seeing as D'Aosta & Fubuki are still there. They really should have gone beforehand.
