Cleveland AA is way Op needs a nerf ASAP

Brooklyn is more tier 7 material. Cleveland will be buffed to her historical stats and buffed up to tier 8 or 9. More likely tier 8, as part of a Light Cruiser Branch. Worcester comes after her. There is already a topic on a replacement tier 6 Light cruiser here: http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/14919-oakland-subclass-potential-tier-6-cl/

    Two Brothers.

I guess I really am easy come easy go... I literally hate no maps, and I hate no ships... I seemingly can achieve good results on any ship, on any map. However, the two most common maps for me seem to be New Dawn and Two Brothers, I have yet to see Ocean etc.

Let us name our ships in game

The ship will probably get its name imprinted on the side or stern, when you select the name from a drop down list. The visual model may change a little in the far future to match the historical parameters of the ship. I don't see a problem with displaying the chosen name of a ship in the battle, you could display it depending on player preference e.g. IJN Maya - Takao HMS Marlborough (Iron Duke) or Lexington (USS Saratoga) Alternatively, you could just turn them off altogether - spoilsports

    Furutaka

I still seem to be the only person to like the damn thing. Furutaka Appreciation club has only 1 member on my watch. I've killed many tier 6 and 7 BBs in it in the CBT, and probably many more to come in the OBT. If people wanted to know how I played it, I find some BBs, and stick in formation with them, letting them take the fire, and then if there is an opportunity, I will try and press on with a torpedo attack(closing the range etc.). Try to avoid any kind of return fire, and turn back if it gets too fierce. Load AP and blast away as a support ship at cruisers and battleships. The mobility is good, but don't try to tangle with destroyers and definitely do not lead the charge. (I found that out the hard way) I also sense an incoming Vuk with the mighty move tool.

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

Who said that low tier US destroyers were underpowered! This was my first decent game in the Wickes in OBT, and I suddenly remembered why I kept it in the CBT .

    germain battleships

I would reckon that Derfflinger will be tier 5, with Seydlitz and/or Moltke at tier 4 with Von der Tann at tier 3, which would be the start of a German Battlecruiser line, in game though, they would be classed a BBs as they have guns above 11 inch and are Capital ships. Mackensen etc. would come at tier 6 and above.

Will we ever see submarines in this game?

No subs in random battles like we have now, but who knows for future gamemodes....
  8. Trainspite

    Furutaka

I think I'm the only one around here who likes to play this ship..... Its difficult, but I usually played it as battlecruiser, hanging around the battleships, letting them take the fire, until I spot an opening and charge ahead to exploit it, and if I come under no return fire, then I then release a barrage of torpedoes at the nearest battleship, I've claimed a Nagato, Fuso, New Mexico etc. like this....

    [edited] for sale

Warspite is still very much a meh ship from my limited experience of it... Too much of a Furutaka for me, meaning its very situational, good at times, but bad a significant proportion of the other times... The guns are very good, the armour is decent and its mobility is excellent, however The combination of a bad turret traverse plus its mediocre range means that its very tricky to play... And its bloody expensive for a tier 6.... And of course its the Warspite, famous for scoring a 24km hit on the move, while I don't have a problem with this on other ships, I find it a little insulting for the Warspite to be restricted.... (Not much of a point I know, but still, its how I feel) Even though my grandfather served aboard her, I doubt I will spend my money on it unless it gets buffed as I found it quite Lacklustre...

    Goodbye to the Dock

Maybe I will jump on the bandwagon as well... Despite the exam spam, I managed to get a fair few battles played, although not enough to get past tier 7.... And of course, the favourite ship? Nicholas and Nagato are up there, but number 1 for me was: Won't take long at all to get back to it!
  11. Trainspite

    Furutaka

I don't know what to say... I work with this ship, and while it may not be stellar, its certainly not bad to me... The turret traverse can be a pain at times, but I can work with it, although I play it sometimes as If I'm a mini-Kongo, which works well enough. The usual tactics I use are to hang out with battlesips, and let them take the rap from the enemy battleships... and then sneak up to enemy BBs concentrating on our BBs and then pepper them with 8 inch gun fire and set a salvo of torpedoes off as soon as I feel confident they will hit. Seeing this ship as presenting no threat is completely wrong, as a Nagato, Fuso & a New Mexico found out to their cost... These tactics also have the benefit of looking nice when 2 Kongos and a Furutaka are working in unison,^^ (really should have saved that replay) Things not do are to rush ahead first, I tried that at first, and no, it did not work at all...

What RN ships would you like to see?

Maybe this thread could be useful ^^ http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/12426-royal-navy-tech-tree-proposal/#topmost Page 3 - has my updated versions though, a significant improvement in my opinion over the first attempt I had at it....

BB AP to powerfull after recent patch

I read the first lines and it kind of reminded me of this thread http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/14747-we-have-to-nerf-the-cruisers/ In all seriousness, I haven't noticed much of a change, my New York still got its ticket punched by a Minekaze and Kuma HE spam, but I did slam an Ibuki in my Nagato the other day....

    Premium ships

hellcat053, on 11 June 2015 - 03:37 PM, said: I have question. When the open beta goes live will the already purchased premium ships return in your port?? Or do you get the money back in gold for what they are worth? You get what you have paid for, so only the pre-order ships (Yubari, Sims, Gremyashibobcan'tspellthedamnname) and the gold from the store will be returned to your account in OBT. So all of the ships you can only buy for gold will be gone (Warspite, Atlanta, Kitakami, Murmansk etc.) However Ectar has said that Warspite will be avaliable in OBT for a bit, so maybe the others will turn up... Flare_UKCS, on 11 June 2015 - 03:54 PM, said: AFAIK you will get pre-order ships in the port, and the premium ships you bought will be refunded in equivalent gold so you should just be able to re-buy the ship/s again. Damn, beat me to it, too slow typing I guess

Thank You WG for the U.S.S Arkansas and goodies

Suit yourself, I found it quite enjoyable, then again, I have liked every ship I have played in so far I don't care for slow speeds that much, it just means I spend more time manning the guns and aiming, and less time driving into islands because I'm cruising around at a slower speed.

    Life After The OBT Wipe

I think anything with above 10 or 11 inch guns is classed as a battleship, including Scharnhorst, the pocket battleships, and battlecruisers... so yeah, while I think battlecruisers will mostly have their own separate trees, they will be battleships.

What we know about Ships: Updated 05/04/2017

Canada (Almirante Latorre) is very similar to the Iron Duke class, which should be going at tier 5.... All of these fine World War 1 ships would need a buff to their AA, as most got scrapped under the Washington Treaty, yet that shouldn't be much of a problem, WG take liberties with historical accuracy sometimes....

    Want to hear a joke?

Thats true, I had all 3 squadrons hovering over a smoke screen (2 Fighter 1 bomber) whilst a DD was in the cap. Never spotted him until the screen ran out, and by that time it was just too late, to get a lock on the damn thing.(about 5 secs from finishing his cap)

    Want to hear a joke?

¬.¬ Destroyers never had much in the way of AA arnament... Tell me, was there only one carrier on the enemy team, or did he already win superiority of the skies? There is not much to do with fighters apart from annoy the hell out of destroyers and spot them for your team...

    Royal Navy Tech tree Proposal

Well, I doubt that many players will like cruising around at 23 knots while almost everyone else is going 28+, yes putting the G3 and N3 at tier 10 will add variety, but I don't think it would be very popular compared to its rivals...WG will probably put G3 and N3 at tier 10 anyway because.... WG.... Also if they add Furious (In one of her incarnations) in, she would have 18 inch guns, at a very low tier, as she has so few would be at tier IV-V I would reckon...

    Royal Navy Tech tree Proposal

Nelson is in pretty good company at tier 7, after all she was built in response to the Nagato and Colorado classes respectively, as Britain had no 16 inch armed battleships at the time. She has 1 extra gun than the other two, and slightly more armour I believe, but she pays for this with a low speed and slightly unconventional layout. Overall the timeframe for tier 7 BBs is just post world war 1, and therefore Hood, Colorado, and Nelson all fit in there. Plus Iowa vs Nelson is completely unfair to the ship, she's capable, yes, but not enough to be able to go to toe to toe with an Iowa.... KGV (The 1939 one!), Is a little bit tricky to balance (7 or 8), however I still believe she goes at tier 8, alongside the other ships of that time period. Remember, its not all about gun caliber here, I expect the Tennessee & Scharnhorst to go at tier 7, which have 14 and 11 inch guns respectively, as compared to the Nelsons and other first rate BBs.... KGV is a fairly well balanced ship for tier 8, having decent armour, maneuverability and whatever she lacks in firepower can be made up in other aspects. Not that she is really lacking in firepower, the 14 inch Mk 7 is a perfectly capable weapon. Timescale is important in this game, after all, having a 1920s design against the super battleships of late WW2 is slightly unfair.... In my tree the towns and colonies are equal, because they are relatively the same, the towns have a higher displacement and thats about it...

    Royal Navy Tech tree Proposal

I was aware that Colossus was probably not going to make it at tier 4 from the start, but having no equal for for the Orion class, I just bumped up the Colossus to fill the gap (having a family member who served on both Colossus and Hercules didn't hurt either ) Again at the high tiers I was just gap filling to create the slow and fast lines of battleships, as I said in my original post, I would never expect WG to implement all of the inter-war designs, and to be honest, it is likely that only about 4 of these designs at max would make it into the game Cruisers, apart from that with counties the timescale comes into play, Myoko and Pensacola are their nearer counterparts, even if they are faster and have more guns, WG could buff some other statistic to make the counties competitive. Norfolk though is there at tier 8 just to fill yet another gap and make my tree get to tier 10, as are the two ships above, all of which are a tier too high, and I agree with you on, (But I need a tier 10, even if its just for show!) Destroyers and aircraft carriers, yeah not much to say on that, a second tree is a long way in the making, and I'm just speculating there, and probably moving the 1942 carriers down a tier was not wise, considering they were built in 1942, but by that time I think I might have been a bit tired.... Either way, hopefully WG takes ideas from this, it would be a shame to see the RN get messed up.....

    Royal Navy Tech tree Proposal

Funnily enough, I was just about to publish my own upgraded version of how the tech tree(s) could/should look like! Battleships/Battlecruisers: I do not expect WG to implement this exact tech tree as this looks from the start, but they could work towards it, or include elements of it, there are probably too many of the interwar capital ship designs for their liking.... Cruisers: Split up into Light and Heavy cruiser lines, and Dido and the crown colony classes included as an alternative option to the Leander->Town route Destroyers: Added practically all classes into their appropriate tiers (Personally I feel the tribals are tier 8), and just for pete's sake I've added a second tree in because there are enough classes to do so And Finally Aircraft Carriers: Not a lot happening here, Malta is now at tier 10, and the rest have been shoved down a tier. Feel free to customize to your preferences, this is only how I think it should look after all .

After 3.1 does the Warspite now need a buff?

That was completely unjustified on your part, there are 2 sides to every argument, and to be honest, if he is presenting his case for the grand ol' lady to be buffed, (Which I wholly approve, and if it succeeds, WG have another £20 in the bank), then you let him present so... he may come across as arrogant and frustrated at times (Its an argument, what do you expect), but that kind of input is not needed....
