The Myogi and other fictional ships...

Nabbed this off the NA forum, but it appears that Roon is a "creative interpenetration" of an adaptation of P Klasse, while Hindenberg is "Creative interpretation" of a "logical" successor to Hipper utilizing a 20,3 cm triple turret that was actually designed." ~ Daigensui, 2016 I'm guessing this will be an exception for a while, seems to be a last resort if no complete design exists. As for Monitors, maybe one day, although they are probably only just in front of submarines on WGs priority list.

From NA, there is also this: if you need anymore screenshots. Not really, a lot of duplicate lines will be similar, and WG can try and differentiate between them a little more if need be.

The Myogi and other fictional ships...

And then there are ships like the Roon & Hindenberg. WG creations, or their interpretations of what a ship would be, based around a few historical parts. So the tirple 8" turrets were designed, but no ship for them was, so WG have filled the gap. Well, having 6x 11" rifles with 2.5RPM, excellent ballistics, and probably cruiser like accuracy (or slightly worse) makes for a pretty decent cruiser killer. She can also hit back at BBs, AP would be a viable option against them, as well as having a better fire chance. Her RoF would hinder her though compared to other cruisers. Admiral Graf Spee would have poor AA, but a tech tree Deutschland, not so. Essentially they are cruisers which have traded in their 8" for a lower number of 11" and have also traded 4 knots of speed for extra hit points. It makes them decent cruiser killers, their firepower and range is more than enough, they just can't keep the pace, although they can run away from most BBs. Battlecruisers or fast BBs though, is a different story.

Saying that I could do a write up on Surrey at some point. (That is after I finish J3 anyway )

The Myogi and other fictional ships...

Me saying very similar was just a way of putting my point across that she fits at tier 8 reasonably well, and that her closest companion in game is most probably Zara over Hipper. I know Surrey is not as well armoured as Zara, especially with just using the turrets from the preceding Countys. She will just be well armoured in terms of trying to get a citadel on her, due to her machinery and magazine boxes. Also, I would have expected Surrey and Zara to be fairly equally matched in a gun duel, her RoF should be significantly higher (4-6RPM, compared to 3.8+appropriate buff) , although at longer ranges Zara holds a flatter shell arc. Surrey can use her 4/8 10km torpedoes if need be however, if the engagement gets close enough. So I think Zara would hold the advantage at longer ranges, her speed and shell arcs and armour all are very effective there, while Surrey is a bit more suited to closer engagements, with her probable RoF advantage and torpedoes. I have a feeling Zara will be very good (one of the best tier 8s) whens she eventually arrives. Although Surrey would probably suit my playstyle a bit better. So I call them evens really. More likely is that Graf Spee is a premium tier 7 cruiser. Albeit a rather slow and fat one, which trades in the usual 8-10x 8" for 6x 11".

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

I'm not sure if it counts as a great achievement, but I managed to end the losing streak that has been questioning my sanity for the last two days. Put my win rate down a whole 1% though, which is very dishonourable.
  8. I would guess that is either a fan made or an early version tech tree, since quite a few of the ships are in places we know to have changed. Could be a mod that someone made for all I know. I complete all the ones I get sent as well.

Mk.4 Chips are very effective, but don't worry, the V&W destroyers that should be tier 4 and 5 should get them as well. Then Kongo & New York will have their balanced diet!

    HMS Hood discussion

There is no conflict in that there is no other class named for Admirals with the first being Hood, yes, but it goes against WGs ways and methods of doing things. To make an exception to the rule just to make Hood a premium and rake in the cash is a little greedy of WG. They avoided the temptation for a Bismarck premium after all, and I believe they will do the same for Hood as well. As in the end, Hood is only one step down the line of deciding the name from Bismarck. "Admiral" can't really be used as a name, namely because there was no HMS Admiral etc. (WG naming paper ships means they want a name) - so in that case WG should move onto the lead ship presumably. And failing that the second. Also, ships built ships take priority over paper designs, so BC Lion means Lion 1939 gets bumped down to Temeraire, with the same applying to fame, meaning KGV 1911 would probably be moved to Centurion. Lexington in my view, the CV is both more famous and existed/served, so CV Lexington rightfully gets the name. Constellation being the next in the group can take the name of the Lexington in BC form. Ranger represents the carrier, and Saratoga would make a decent tier 8 premium. This leaves the last 2 names up for grabs by other BC Projects. To me, the equivalent with Hood is saying that since Admiral/Lexington can't be used, we are using Constitution/Anson instead of Constellation/Hood.

    HMS Hood discussion

Oh, I am fairly aware of this. But it is what WG do that matters here. First off is class name, so New Orleans etc. which comes before the lead ship. However, if the class name is Admiral, JKN, Town, Crown Colony or Raubvogel etc., then the lead ship gets the name. And if there are clashes, then the second ship takes it. You seem to think that WG will take one of the ships later in the class to be a tech tree ship. As to my knowledge they don't do this, otherwise, why would they use the 2nd ship for clashes? (An example is Karlsruhe, but there are others, for example, Lexington class BC being put back to Constellation and South Dakota 1920 put back to Indiana - those are two that I have seen around) Basically - Class name > Lead ship > Second Ship - and so on. As I have said before Hood can't fit as a premium since she is the lead ship, hence, after "Admiral" is gone, unless you regard Hood as a separate from the other 3 Admirals, Hood is next.
  12. Basically as expected then. Well, at least I saw it that way. Don't know about other players. Well, WG are only really at fault for poor communication, the wording of the final milestone lead people into believing it was something bigger than just the secondary objective to the treasures that WG intended it to be.

    USS Arizona first stats

Well, I suspect South Dakota herself would be the tier 8 in a second USN BB Tree when that arrives around, since she is the lead ship and all. Ah well. I saw that, maybe it is an indication of ships they lean towards.

If that is true, then is it Alabama or Massachusetts? (No Indiana, you cannot into premium!) I would like the latter myself, due to "connections" (And having been to the place far too many times - never got to the ship though, something I aim to rectify in due course). I would definitely not expect it tomorrow though, it sounds like wishful thinking to me...

    HMS Hood discussion

Okay, fixed the damn post. Anson & Howe are the only two names that can really be considered for the Admiral, Rodney makes an ideal tier 7 premium by herself. After all, she beat up Bismarck, so I think a lot of people would like to see her in game in that condition. However, Hood does not offer anything different from the Admiral. They are still roughly the same in my eyes, with fairly minor differences. Hence why I regard them as the same class. Hood is the lead ship of the Admiral class, and therefore should get the refit. But if she gets the refit, and represents the class, how can Hood not represent herself? She was the only one of the class built afterall. If we are going to complain about it not being "Hood" herself as she was, then use the B hull. Visual signature does not mean awful lot, as some people think that KGV will not compete at tier 8 without receiving the 15" first intended for her. I don't especially agree for various reasons (Too similar J3, 14" fine against majority of targets, Would be OP with good guns), but it would ruin the looks of KGV. But looks matter not too much when compared to gameplay. If you really want, you can make the C hull an alternative like as we see with Nurnberg. A Hull - As built B Hull - 1930s/Wartime C Hull - Refit Plus, Bismarck has escaped the urge of WG to wrap it as a premium and sell a truck ton, so Hood should get the same treatment. And before people say that Admiral class is different to Bismarck class in terms of names, I saw a documentary where some of the early documents referred to the class as the Hood class, after the lead ship. The Admiral class (Not Hood) as built can be a tier 7 premium, with refit and a differing AA suite and secondary battery, or a more lacklustre tier 7 premium without it. Tier 6 however is out of the question, unless you take a preliminary design which has significantly decreased armour. Since Hood or an Admiral at tier 6 would make QE obsolete by a long way. If you still want a Hood premium though, WG could always add a date suffix to her, (i.e. Hood 1941), as WG have a few conflicting names around. Like Emden 1925, which conflicts with Emden 1906 (However unlikely this is).

    Warspites range

It is speculation based on WGs actions with Warspite. If WG have done so with Warspite, it is quite reasonable to assume that they will do so with QE, as they share the same turret. Thereby, WG may try and give out a national flavour. Just because the USN ships are buffed in that respect does not mean WG will do the same to the same extent for the RN.

    HMS Hood discussion

Well, Karlsruhe is the second ship after Königsberg in the Königsberg 1915 class, and since WG have decided that the Königsberg class from 1927 gets precedence over the 1915 and 1905 classes. So the second ship then takes the up the mantle. WG will probably make the 1905 class a premium though, just between Stuttgart and Stettin. Having said that, now Karlsruhe represents the last uncompleted 8 of the following Cöln class. As for Hood, I still think she will be the first tier 7 regular BB, when the first British BB line makes its appearance (As "Admiral" can't be used,- as otherwise you would have to use Town, JKN etc.- Hood being the lead ship takes it). An Admiral premium under the name of "Anson" is also my other suspicion, if people really want a premium Admiral, otherwise, I would put my money on Rodney turning up as a premium tier 7. For me, there is not enough distinction between Hood and the other 3 Admirals to give WG the excuse to make Hood a premium. They did not do so with Bismarck, so I don't believe they will here.

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

Just Kuma things. 7 games in after getting her back since CBT, and she is still just as epic. 30k Fire damage on their Myogi alone. If I did not enjoy her so much, I would claim she is borderline overpowered.

    HMS Hood discussion

The USN has plenty of Tier 8 premium Candidates As for premium RN BBs. Tier 7: Hood I think is highly unlikely, and Rodney is a better bet. Maybe a premium Admiral, as well as the BC Designs F2 and F3. Tier 8: Vanguard and Prince of Wales have this covered.

    German CV,s

That is why it isn't likely that the 3rd CV will not show up anytime soon. They need to fix the balance like I said.
  21. Trainspite

    HMS Hood discussion

Well, You could have premium battleships for the RN at every tier. The USN has 4,5 and 6 already, so we can guess that maybe at some point in the future WG will introduce many premiums.
  22. Trainspite

    German CV,s

There is only one choice for a third CV line at this time, and it is the British. I expect the British to be a midway between the USN and IJN. As for the Germans, I really do not know, since they are behind the British for sure, and it is easier to get a French CV line out before them. I think it is low down on their priorities however, and carrier balance may need a major rework before even a third British line is introduced.
  23. Trainspite

    German CV,s

It is definitely possible to get a German CV line in, although they would not be seen around for a long time. Behind the British, and possibly the French, Italians and maybe second Japanese, American & British as well, but still ahead of the Russian designs.
