Trainspite replied to Young_Grishka's topic in Cruisers
Understandable. The way I usually used to remember is by looking at the wiki picture on the County class entry . Though it is probably ingrained on my memory by now.- 7 replies

Official British Cruisers Line Speculation and History Of
Trainspite replied to Young_Grishka's topic in Cruisers
Neptune - Probably is Design Y, or the preliminaries, Q/R. From the 1944 Cruiser Programme. 12x Autoloading 6". Roughly 14k Displacement or so. Minotaur - In game from the screenshots, she is Design Z4A of 1946 (Minotaur Designs - Z2, Z4, Z5 etc.).The successor to the Neptune Designs (Y, Q, R etc.). 5 dual autoloading 6" that would eventually find their way onto the Tiger class. Along with 16 Torpedo tubes. 6 were planned (carried on from the Neptune), but they would be quite expensive, and they were cancelled in 1947, at Design Z4C, which had 3 superfiring turrets fore. Hope that helps. ^^ I have also never hard Minotaur pronounced Min-o-tar before, I have always said Mine-o-taw. ;)- 7 replies

Do you have any plan to improve Atlanta? It is not a good ship in game.
Trainspite replied to HMSHOOD2rd's topic in General Discussion
170 Battles in Cleveland. Survived in 42 of them. However, 62% win rate & 44k Average damage. Some ships that are suited to a more aggressive playstyle, or engage at closer ranges are naturally going to have a lower survival rate, ships like Cleveland & Atlanta. And suggesting Atlanta at tier 5? Feck eff. Do you have any idea how many and the magnitude of the balance repercussions that would cause!? You would have to nerf the crap out of Atlanta to make her work at tier 5. Give it a 10 second reload, no Defensive AA, no Radar. And vs ships like Emerald & Omaha? A Light Cruiser from the 1940s has no place trying to be among those from the 1920s, unless it is rough equivalent (see Agano & Arethusa). To be honest, the only gripe I have about Atlanta is that it is too damn expensive. It is not perfect, far from, but just because it doesn't suit you does not warrant such an extreme measure. /historically infused rant off -
28s. Not exactly bad, considering that the 330mm (13") are very, very good guns. Probably better than most 14" you will find. (Muzzle velocity & pen are excellent).

Well, I think I can talk about the Prinz from a historical perspective. Not from a gameplay point of view, or how it is in game. None of that. But saying some stuff like gun size and number treads the line, since that is in the game as well. So that is verboten as well. I mean, Prinz Eugen is the 3rd of 5 Admiral Hipper class cruisers. And the Minotaur is Design Z4A from 1946/7 etc. There, I said that historical stuff. (Looks around anxiously, to make sure am not being followed by KGB - I knew what the tier 10 RN CL was ages ago -before I was a ST-WG, stop following me!) Also. 1000th post. Yay me! Cake for everybody! Guess that means it is now time for me to spam my way to 2000.

buff Kawachi and SC to bring them in line with Nassau
Trainspite replied to Comrad_StaIin's topic in General Discussion
It is kind of amusing that I got both of my solo warrior awards in two ships that are not well regarded. Kawachi & Mutsuki. As for T3 BBs, they are intentionally awkward to play, which is to try and keep the BB population down and encourage new players to try some of the other classes. Nassau kind of breaks this trend to be honest. I'm not exactly in favour of buffing the SoCar & Kawwwaaachi though. Little more leaning towards nerfing Nassau. Or just leaving them all alone. -
Look what I just found [3rd unit of the Admiral Hipper Class Heavy Cruisers]

Pick your votes for the sexiest ship ingame!

Leander or Fiji. Konig Albert is not bad either. And for some reason Kolberg stuck with me. -
I liked CBT Furutaka if you must know, so you can probably expect me to like ships that are often looked down upon. Hatsuharu is unique for me in being a ship that while statistically I did quite good, I never got along with. Fubuki is a lot more comfortable for me to play. Maybe it is because I place a lot of confidence in her gunboat ability or something.

HMS Delhi - Royal Navy Premium Ship request
Trainspite replied to Lord_Holland_of_Wessex's topic in Cruisers
I would expect Delhi to be a decent tier 4 CL premium, or tier 5 with a better RoF. At tier 4 should she would have to compete with Manxman though (Manxman is my personal preference for a tier 4 premium). It is up to WG as to what special gimmicks she could get, since she would be quite powerful at that tier with the weapons she had. -
The point of the Mutsuki is to have a ship in the game where I can be alone by saying I like the thing. Also, i heff solo warrior with her. Hatsu on the other hand? No. Did not feel comfortable at all with that ship.

And here I was thinking that Britain would get a museum ship from the latter half of the century, that was a capital ship. Oh well, next up is Ocean I think. Still gutted that Lusty is going though, though it could motivate me to get started on that model of her....

[NA] has the Dunkerque on sale as of today: 22,08€ for the standalone ship.

No gold unification forthcoming -- its official
Trainspite replied to Babykim's topic in General Discussion
I don't give that much of a toss. Would be nice to use that 2.5k gold from WoT on WoWs, but I'm fine at the moment, I seldom use gold in the way other people do. Port slot spam and that is about it. -
What tier will the rest of the Battleship/Battlecruiser/Largecruiser/supercruisers hybrids end up in
Trainspite replied to Affeks's topic in Battleships
/catching up on threads VII for Strasbourg, which is obvious. Better armour than Amagi, more HP and small stat buffs make an already capable tier 6 in Dunkerque, a tier 7. VII for B-65. VII for Alaska, or VIII if WG decide her AA is too much. VI for 1047. Effectively a weaker Scharnhorst. I did a semi-review on her, which is in my sig.- 10 replies

South Carolina. For some reason, I did really well with her, and I had her sitting around in my port for quite a while before eventually selling her for the slot. Albany isn't terrible either. Decent for clubbing to be honest. Myogi is pure awesome sauce for me, but too many people say she is bad.... - Something about the speed and range allows me to make up for the guns wibble moments. Pensacola as well. Would probably take her over the OP Myoko since she hits hard and is a lot more flexible.

What we know about Ships: Updated 05/04/2017
Trainspite replied to mr3awsome's topic in General Discussion
Or you could use the 1945 version which still has 9x 16", but has a potential 3RPM, with a 24x 4.5" secondary battery. -
A tier 6 premium was mentioned for Germany in a Q&A at some point. Either way, you have Leipzig (6) and Graf Spee (7) for cruisers, but for BBs, you have Scharnhorst, and then your best bet is that a sister of Konig or Bayern comes out. Or Konig Albert to be moved to tier 4 where it belongs.
-
How dare you! I'll have you know that my Kawachi got my first solo warrior and my South Carolina outlived St Louis in my port before she got sold for the port slot. False triggered-ness aside (though the stats are true, I quite enjoyed SoCar), a stock tier 4 at tier 3 is almost never going to work without severe nerfs, and it doesn't appear that Konig Albert has those in place. The tier 3 BBs are specifically balanced to put people off BBs, to prevent a saturation of BBs higher up, but releasing a premium like Konig Albert at tier 3 is probably not going to work very well in terms of balance. I mean even stock Wyoming or B-40 will beat the shite out of SoCar & Kawaacchi 9 times out of 10. Not exactly, the QEs and older BBs gave the Italians a worthy capital ship adversary, but the Italians could still come out of port if they wanted to (If they had the fuel to though).

German BBs+ tier 6 premium French BB Dunkerque stats in 0.5.9
Trainspite replied to Darth_Glorious's topic in Battleships
Still going to insta-buy Dunkerque, and pass on Scharnhorst. Dunkerque looks extremely good, and I have to agree with piritskenyer really, her armour bow on is not markedly worse than comparable USN BBs. Scharnhorst can wait, my monies are going to France on this one. -
Konig Albert is still a stock tier 4 at tier 3 though, and last I checked, she is straight out better in almost every single way than Nassau, from her 350mm belt armour, her 12 inch guns, her slight speed advantage, and that in limited cases, both Konig Albert and Kaiser can fire a 5 gun broadside. And Nassau is by no means a bad tier 3 BB. Konig Albert is markedly better than all the other tier 3 BBs out there, and that is basically because it is a stock tier 4. I would prefer they move it to tier 4 with some special features, like Ark's equipment slots.

That is obvious for Pepsi. She would be worse than Molotov in terms of balance at tier 6. A 10'000t 8" cruiser wipes the floor with a lesser treaty cruiser like Aoba, even when Aoba has had it's RoF mega-buffed. Hence why I rated New Orleans 7.7, under par for tier 8, but not quite tier 7 worthy. Putting them down a tier would as they are now would probably result in two Myoko situations. A cruiser that on the outside doesn't appear OP, but is for the most part, significantly dominant over the other cruisers. Myoko for some reason still retains her stats from tier 8, and New Orleans would probably end up the same way, probably slightly less OP than Myoko, due to Myoko being a bit better at damage output than NO, (Torpedoes & HE+fires). Myoko should really be nerfed. As for Balti, she is a good ship held back by an armament option that is worse than her predecessor, and the main armament being very out of place in the current meta. And a lot of players can't really deal with that, most of them couldn't deal with Cleveland either, in referring to the shell arcs. Hence, when at tier 9 fighting occurs at even longer ranges, Balti & Cleve are equal for the most part. Putting her at tier 8 would probably still leave her lacking in the eyes of players, who use that armament option. As for the cruisers that outperform her, Buddy is OP to be honest, Molotov has it's tier 9 guns at tier 6, which is a little silly, and Myoko I have already mentioned. The others are probably more balanced for their tiers. Balti having a lower average damage than them is more reflective of how her upgraded guns are not suited to the long range meta at higher tiers.

Omaha. Should I sacrifice Virgins to skip her?
Trainspite replied to Black_Prince42's topic in Cruisers
True, though I'm not entirely sure how much difference it could make, aside from not being being annoyed by some DD engaging his cloaking device.
