I had my own command_mapping_config.xml which I just placed in the mods folder each update. If I place it in the mods folder now the game will not even boot up. As a left handed user the normal mapping are just no go for me. please sort as setting the keys every time I play is so dam annoying

many thanks everyone for the replies, much appreciated, I'll try the preferences.xml and let you all know. However I do still think it needs sorting, I'm fine doing it but not everyone will be and it must be a bug in the software thats only happened during one of the updates as it used to be fine. Why do I have to go into settings every time to alter my key settings, I'm left handed and use the mouse in my left hand so use the arrow keys for direction and the num keypad instead of the F keys. It works fine but never saves some of them. It saves the up and down arrow but not the left and right. It also saves the num 4, num 6, but not the num 5, num 7, num 8 or num 9. Times I start a game to find I can't turn left or right and need to go into settings while the game is running to set the keys up again. Difficult if I've been running straight until I see the opposition. I've been sunk before setting them up before now. To clarify, this is not a new issue but until now I thought maybe it's my system but I've just done a re-install of my complete system, windows and so of course a full new download of the game and its exactly the same so it's not my system etc. Many thanks Trev
