    Again, I'll argue that it's an issue between chair and keyboard for most as Sherman is a scary arse ship to have to contest a cap against. So, 3 games today. I contested all my caps, won all. Game 1. Contested not against any DD's, but 3 cruisers including 1 with Radar. They just could not handle the withering fire from a Sherman and could not push me back without then overextending. Even their radar was no use as all I had to do was utilise the slow speed which actually helps with throttle duking. Middle cap won and game won. Game 2. Contested the middle cap, found it empty so using a smoke, took without having to deal with the CV who could not strike me as an easy target. Was also able to crossfire into both caps either side as support. Then moved to the cap to the left. As it was the weaker of the 2 flanks and had kind of stalled. Took down the Radar cruiser (even with it's radar active because even combined with the CV striking me, my DPM wins. Also picked of the shima with a long rang pop due to great ballistics. Took the cap from the reds after, then hunted down the Yugumo. So far I've won 2 of our 3 caps and nabbed 3 kills. Easy push into the middle to farm what was left and nab that Yamato. Game 3. Easily the hardest cap to contest. Opposing me was a Shermam and Halland, with intermittent BB fire my way. Lots of angling to torps (look at how many spotted), laying down fire to dissuade any larger ships trying to support their DD's and using smoke to cover from the CV strikes. As well as making myself hard to get out, I bought time for my team to come and support in the end. Overall, I pushed their Sherman away, almost slammed their Halland in 1 engagement (he limped away on almost nothing. Torpe'd a Napoli, which is always fun and got my cap. Sherman is a great DD and not a 1 trick pony like many would have you believe. In fact I don't think there is a 1 size fits all playstyle for this ship. Also. Marceu is fun to play however. Just as a bit of counter balance.

    Ohhhh no, not at all. Sherman is more than good enough to contest caps when played correctly.

    It's quite funny. Pete is like a forum brick wall the idiots keep hitting their heads against in the hopes that A) WG care and B) MM being changed will suddenly make them good enough to win (It won't). Love this place sometimes.

    Because we did. We didn't magically win most of our games of the bat we decided to actually LEARN the game. And got better and thus, win more. It's a really easy concept.

    I strongly disagree. They are very strong 1v1. The ability to out gun almost all other DD's, large HP pool and the added bonus of smoking then hydro trapping makes them utterly lethal. What the ship require however is a higher skill level than most.

    Re-grinding the original German DD-line

    Just done that line from scratch again. Loved them. I hit a few patches of utterly awful days with teams. Which shows on the WR compared to the others in each tier. Good at kiting and decent guns and torps.

    Stats over long long period I don't normally read to much I to as I look at recent stats to see improvements. Well that's how I judge my own anyway. We all learn from scratch afterall.

    Right.... I'm mean. you can look up my shima stats up across all 3 accounts and 2 servers. Now, I suppose it's easy to try say I'm "bad"... I mean. I'm clearly not. But when you try sling mud whilst hiding your own... yeah. You just had to keep stooping lower for some reason..... Like I suggested. Make a poll, make a thread on reddit. Ask the best DD players out there. I'm SURE they'll agree with you...

    I'm not outraged, don't be silly and exaggerate a ship skill debate. But telling others that a skill that is USEFUL 100% of the time and that can be the difference between winning and losing isn't worth taking is silly. I suggest make a poll. Then you'll get a wide spread consensus.

    Ohhhhh so you've guessed my set up from nothing... And assumed you can win by torps and that I can't gun you down in the single salvo needed. Cute. It's your choice to play with a handicap. Just don't try tell others a skill that is useful 100% of the time, is lesser than (checks) less HP...

    Lol. Ok. Sure.... How about this. We are the last ships left on each team. It's equal points. We have no time to cap each other's base. Your 17,900 Shima has lost 90% of it's HP. My SE Shima has lost 90% of it's HP. It's going to be down to a 1 v 1 to win. I hold all the advantages. I don't die in a single good salvo. You do. But. If I suppose me and every other unicum DD player I know is just wrong with using SE....

    A GREAT shima player knows that taking SE is the difference between being able to take a needed engagement or not and being able to utilise maximum HP for maximum reward.

    Ohhhh no. I'd say the IJN DD line to shima requires a LOT more than most realise to get the best out of them. I mean Playing none smoke Kagero and Yugumo is an instant upgrade with a massive skill jump attached. Playing the line as intended also require more skill than the average player that sits at the back spamming torps.
