Hmm... I do like ships with good secondaries. I'm quite enjoying my Scharnhorst. So it seems Massa is a better choice over Alabama. Does leave me the choice; Massa or Tirpitz, but that's offtopic for this thread :P

I had the chance to try the Alabama in one of the rental bundles, and so far is one of the rental ships I liked the most. Unfortunately the Massa isn't in the bundles so I can't compare the two. What does make the Massa a better option over the Alabama? I was considering getting the Alabama, but your comment made me think I might be better off with the Massa instead.

I'm not a competive player, I have no problem with carriers at all. In fact, I do love how they offer a different gameplay experience. This forum is full of whining. Looks like people can find any reason to complain about. I'm sorry to hear these people cannot enjoy the game. I'm enjoying it fine. I'm looking forward to subs. Adds a bit more variety in the ships and their gameplay. :)

It's been a long while since my last SC. I guess the loot isn't too bad. Could've been worse I guess.

That's pretty bad game design, probably designed to encourage us to spend money on premium or permaflage.

At least it gives you the option to do it in coop, unlike some other silly missions that alienate any coop players without any good reason at all.

I guess it depends on the definition of 'free'. In a free to play game, I consider anything that does not need to be bought with real money 'free'. Considering credits can be earned without spending real money, getting Reserve slots by spending credits is 'free' in my opinion. Sure, it doesn't apply to the 250 doubloons rental bundles, but those seem to be less popular anyways. (:

It's nice, but considering Reserve slots cost only 100 doubloons per 4 slots, they're not really that expensive anyways. Still more expensive than free though, and who doesn't like free stuff :P

Ok, my rental periods for the first ships are over, so I can pretty much confirm what others have already said; - Any upgrades will be demounted for free and end up in your inventory - You get to keep the Commanders - When your Reserve is full, Commanders will add an extra spot to your Reserve.

Does anyone know if there's a video or anything that could explain me how I should be reading the interface when trying to aim torpedos on my carriers? I find the ingame interface extremely unclear, and as soon as I fire my torps, the camera focuses on my planes, giving me pretty much no feedback how I should improve my aim. (All I know is that I keep missing, even though I try to carefully aim my torps).

So you can safely outfit rental ships with upgrades and not loose any credits at all? That's good to know. As far as I can make up from previous posts, skills are not reset, and the extra reserve slot is only awarded if no slots are vacant.

I'm ready for my rental ship captains to create some extra slots in my reserves. I also took the gamble of installing a Main Armaments Modification 1 in my rental ship to see what happens with the upgrade when the rental period ends. Worst case scenario is that I lost 125k credits. I'll find out in 18 hours :P

Good to know. That means my tactic would work. For anyone who wants to expand their reserves; make sure it's full before the rental periods expire. I guess this saves you 25 doubloons per slot :P

If your reserve has 4 slots by default, and you can expand it by 4 slots for 100 doubloons, how did you end up with 14 places in total? :P

Practicing is a lot easier when you get feedback about how you did. When I launch torpedos in any other type of ship I can see where they're going, giving me useful feedback on what I should do next time. Ok, that would leave my planes pretty vulnerable and uncontrollable I guess, but if there's no other way... I still do wonder what all the markings on the aiming interface mean though. I had hoped there'd be an explenation somewhere.

Would be nice if anyone can confirm this. This would mean we could buy ourselves a lot of unskilled captains to full up the reserve, and then get free slots with the rental captains. :P

I wouldn't jump to that conclusion so quickly. If one rents a ship and wants to keep the captain for another ship, one might simply decide not to put any skills in them. I know I didn't put any skills in my captains commandeering rental ships. Still unsure what ship I'll assign them to.

Thanks, I'm currently in a relatively new clan which focuses on coop, but I definately will keep BBMMx in mind. :) PvP players looking down upon PvE players says more about them than about us. Although I guess the amount of toxicity in PvP gets you to the same conclusion. I know, but there's always a few kids who can't resist looking down upon players who just play the game differently. Fortunately there's also PvP players who know how to behave. They're not all bad. :)

Well, if the first one from the random bundles is a ship you'd really consider purchasing, then yes, perhaps spending 250 doubloons might be an option then. First 4 ships to pop up in my random bundles (3 in the credits series, 1 in the doubloon series) aren't ship that I was considering purchasing.

Yep, 15000 credits in each container once you've completed the collection. And of course 10 oil for each container. (:

Well, I guess for me this event is kinda a succes. Just rented the Haida and against my expectations I quite like it. That's another ship to place on my wishlist (poor wallet...). I think being able to rent a premium ship for credits is incredibly nice (apart from the stupid random bundles, but I guess it may actually be smart as I wouldn't know if I would've tried the Haida if it weren't a random rental ship). They might sell an Haida to me they might not have sold without random, although it's likely that I would've spent the money on another ship. I doubt this event is going to make me spend more money in general. It's very unlikely I'd spend doubloons to rent a ship. But I really never spend doubloons on anything temporary or random. I guess WG is testing how many players would spend doubloons on things like this, and what effect it'd have on premium ship purchases.

Oddly enough I had plenty of problems trying to find a coop-only clan. Apparently there's plenty of them around somewhere, but they're hard to find. (Or I haven't been looking in the right place.)
