True. Bismarck srings to my mind. But considering premium ships have a better credit income and a bonus package by default, I see little reason to play techtree ships that need no more XP to progress the line.
-
Except there is no endgame, at least not for PvE. While PvP may consider Clan Battles the endgame, the best thing PvE players have is the operations, currently limited to tiers 6 and 7, and soon tier 8. The only reason to play tier 10 co-op is because it usually progresses missions faster due to higher XP/damage/credits. They aren't necessarily any more challenging or enjoyable compared to tier 1 co-op games...

I like co-op, but with tier I-IV not counting towards daily missions (and basically any other missions) there is indeed very little point in playing these lower tiers, even though I have a collection of low tier premium ships and some of them are pretty fun to play with.

Sucks to be spawned at the wrong place of the map...
-
Yeah I also think it's a good idea. Especially now that all operations use the same tier spread of ships. Being limited to tiers 6-8 is the only downside of the system. :P

You *will* play Newport, whether you want to or not!
Purnylla replied to Verblonde's topic in General Discussion
You can still play any specific op in a division. Probably not enough people playing ops to make seperate queues for each operation. Actually, many games have a similar system where you queue up for a random operation. Pretty similar how you can't select a specific map for a random battle. Personally I think it's a good change. Should've happened a long time ago. Now all it needs is bots being adjusted to the players team tier and make ops available for all tiers. And when I say all tiers, I mean all the way from tier 1 to tier 11. -
Soon that'll be over. According to https://blog.worldofwarships.com/blog/354 they'll be going for a 'random operation' rather than a fixed operation of the week. That'll be interesting :)

Please make the Economic Bonus Exchange a permanent thing
Purnylla posted a topic in General Discussion
I like how one can trade in a big bonus for multiple smaller ones. Unfortunately it seems this Economic Bonus Exchange is only available for a limited time. Please make it a permanent thing. -
Buying permanent bonus package for submarines
Purnylla replied to goodman528's topic in General Discussion
I play this game for my enjoyment. I don't need to be skilled at it, I don't need some kind of training, all I need is fun. I guess it didn't help I quite liked the secondary specced battleships, mainly the old German BB line. I don't have the patience, nor the desire, to hide behind an island. Going full speed ahead perhaps wasn't the most tactical decision, but I just want to shoot stuff (brawling). To an extent, I have to agree that CV might be 'dumbed down'. To me it's a way to play actively without taking too much risks. Wether or not CV is overpowered and need to be nerfed, that's up to WG. I accepted the rocket plane nerf as well as the spotting nerf. I also got the feeling captain rework did indirectly nerf carriers. All fine, I'm still having fun. It's a shame people can't have fun, but perhaps it's because some people take this game way too seriously? The amount of toxicity in randoms is very notable, and I'm quite happily playing mostly co-op anyways. Much more relaxed environment there. -
Buying permanent bonus package for submarines
Purnylla replied to goodman528's topic in General Discussion
I disagree. After some sneaky destroyers sunk my battleship a bit too often, I tried playing carrier for a change, and I liked it. Don't care other people don't like it. They don't like playing against carriers, I don't like playing against destroyers. That's just how the game works. So far, I can't say I enjoy playing against submarines, but hey, if you like playing a sub, go ahead. It's not like other players in any other type of ship care what other people think. Pretty sure those destroyer players didn't care I didn't like playing against them. Pretty sure they quite enjoyed sinking my battleships, just like I enjoy sending some aerial torpedos or dive bombs their way. Yep, I realize this is gonna cost me karma, because I'm going against 'popular belief'. -

I'm expecting them around X-mas or the first update in the new year. But I already had expected them last X-mas. Anything is possible with those subs. -
Buying permanent bonus package for submarines
Purnylla replied to goodman528's topic in General Discussion
I wouldn't risk it. You have no clue how long it'll take to test these submarines, when they finally get released and in which state. You don't know when the next rental period will be. I mean, you'll probably keep the economic bonus with every new rental period and when it's finally released, but who knows, they might've altered the sub in such a way you no longer enjoy it. Just assume the worst. If it's still worth the doubloons for you, go ahead. -
Soon be ready to get my first T9 BB techline ship for co-op
Purnylla replied to Chysagon's topic in PvE Corner
Meh, these guns are basically shotguns with their inaccuracy. Might as well get the smaller guns with slightly quicker reload to compensate :P -

Please give us back the option to disable auto-supply for eco bonuses and combat signals
Purnylla posted a topic in General Discussion
Just because I mount an expendable eco bonus on a ship doesn't mean I want to use it again next time I sail the ship. Please give us back the option to disable auto-supply. EDIT: Edited topic title to include combat signals- 39 replies

Just got this via discord a few minutes ago. I'm still logged in the server, but game queues are notably empty, so you're probably not the only one.

Please give us back the option to disable auto-supply for eco bonuses and combat signals
Purnylla replied to Purnylla's topic in General Discussion
I edited the topic title to also include combat signals, as the issue is not limited to just economic bonuses as I originally thought. I guess it may also effect camouflages, but I get the feeling no-one really cares about those anymore. -
Soon be ready to get my first T9 BB techline ship for co-op
Purnylla replied to Chysagon's topic in PvE Corner
I doubt any of these BBs will perform very well in the fast-paced co-op, but if you're lucky with your spawn position, FdG can be massive fun with a secondary spec. -

Purnylla replied to Purnylla's topic in General Discussion
Just noticed combat signals suffer from the same 'fix', I can no longer find the option to disable auto-supply for combat signals. I guess that's 'intended' as well @Seraphice ? IMO it's a massive step back, but I guess it benefits WGs finances... -

Agreed. Don't fix it if it isn't broken. -

Expendable cammos - what's the point in them?
Purnylla replied to ThePopesHolyFinger's topic in General Discussion
Can't remember seeing them being used in the games I've played. Only permacamos, but not the one-time-use ones. Perhaps the newbies in the lower tiers who haven't figured out that selling them is way more profitable :P
