I understand that some of you are disappointed now that you realized that there was an additional benefit besides the discounts and bonuses to being in a clan. But we did announce when we introduced clan bases that the personal oil that everyone was earning would be given an additional purpose in future. We owed it to our clan players to deliver on said promise and are doing so with the introduction of the Arsenal. There has always been a huge spectrum of different clans for you to join, as many mentioned there are lots who just form up for bonuses and oil. You could also have started your own clan for the discounted amount of just 1000 doubloons. Ultimately there will always be rewards in the game that you will only receive if you participate in the relevant features - this is one of them. Going forward you will all be able to earn coal regardless of your clan affiliation, but we do not want to deny the clan players their promised bonus. I know this will not be the most popular post and while I am usually on your guys' side when it comes to giving you more stuff, I think in this case it is OK if we reward the players that have participated in the clan scene with a little goodie. As usual I will make sure to represent your feedback accurately and we will see if anything can be done - but in any case the players that did earn oil will come out ahead, as we promised.

Captains, As we receive a lot of questions regarding the US cruiser split and how the changes will affect the ships in your port, you will find a rough breakdown here. As we already did with the Russian DD changes, we will make sure to do all changes in a way that you benefit from them. A ship to be replaced will remain available to the player in stock configuration on the new tier (In the Port if it was purchased or in the researched state if it was researched). The replacement ship will be added to the player's account together with a port slot (if the replaced ship has been purchased) or will become researched (if the replaced ship has been researched). Replacement of modules will be carried out by means of adding similar modules for the new ship to the player's account, or by reimbursement of their cost in XP (added to the new ship) and credits. For the replaced ship, its Commander's specialization will be changed to the ship of the corresponding tier in the main branch. For the second ship, a new Commander will be added to the player's account and bonus Commander XP. (This is based on the new ship's tier, not the original commander's level) If a purchased permanent camouflage was mounted on a ship to be replaced, it will remain mounted on this ship and a new permanent camouflage (for the added ship) will be added to the player's account. Exceptions: Permanent special camouflages for Cleveland and New Orleans will remain with the ships and will NOT appear for ships taking their place in the new tech tree. As these camouflages are specific to the model, they cannot easily be transferred or duplicated. There will be a detailed ship-by-ship breakdown in the upcoming patchnotes, but please feel free to ask any questions here.

I checked and this does not affect coupons. When using a coupon you will pay less for the selected package but will still receive the same amount of doubloon compensation as is listed in the package. -

When we say that we need to improve communications, we also need to improve them internally. With the speed of development and changes sometimes things are not communicated optimally and buried in a pile of other information. In this case we realized that the compensation had changed when it was pointed out to us on reddit. This is why we kicked of another internal discussion on the issue to decide how to go forward with this change and whether or not to compensate players that thought they would be getting the higher amount of compensation. Our intention here was never to be secretive about the matter, it just unfortunately slipped through the cracks. Honestly - I think its a great idea and have sent it along to devs for consideration :) We are going to specifically point out the amount of compensation you get for each package in the description to make sure everyone knows what they get. These ship discounts are supposed to be just that - ship discounts and not doubloon discounts. An owner doesn't have that incentive anymore in this case. These ship discounts are intended to be discounts on the ships and not doubloons, so they are aimed at players who might want the ships and don't have them yet. -

I had a conversation with some of our St Pete guys about this because this is feedback I often see around the forums and something I personally also agree with. In short: We are aware of the problem and would really like players to have more choice of what to do with their doubloons in game. Our intention is not to devalue doubloons, it is in fact the opposite. We already expanded the options by adding the economy flags to the client and are working on some other things I can't quite talk about yet. Soon(ish)™ -

You're right, we should have totally asked those artists to redesign and re-code the Karma system instead.

We will still have doubloon discounts in future, but only when intended. Thanks for the feedback @all, I will pass it along. -

Now on to a more serious note, after some internal discussion we have decided how to proceed from this point. First of all we would like to clarify the situation with premium ship doubloon compensation, as it has been causing some unintended confusion. It’s true that for a long period of time we have been offering full doubloon compensation for most cases where you bought a package containing a ship that you already owned on your account. This included packages which were discounted. However, we’ve recently noticed that a portion of our players have been using these mechanics to purchase discounted doubloons – a procedure we had not intended, but which we had tolerated until it reached a certain scale. Experience and data has shown that we cannot keep these mechanics, as well as keep offering packages with significant discounts. This prompted us to request changes from our Premium Shop team, which would alter the compensation for all ships to correspond to the actual cost of the content at the time of purchase (i.e. to compensate players who intentionally bought packages containing a ship they already owned with the discounted value of that ship). Unfortunately, while we had initially planned to implement these changes at a later date, they were applied to the shop in early May, catching everyone off guard. We sincerely apologize for having failed to inform you about this change ahead of time. We do understand that while compensation amounts are not directly regulated, when a system behaves a certain way for a long period of time it contributes to creating habits and informing purchase decisions. To that end, we would like to inform you that shortly after the release of update 0.7.6 we will compensate everyone who purchased discounted packages and received compensation for the ships therein, with the difference in doubloon value they missed out on. This will apply to all purchases made between May 1st and the release of update 0.7.6. - we are aiming at delivering this compensation during the first week of July. At the same time, together with that update, these new compensation mechanics will be formalized and fully come into force, applying to all discounted packages going forward. This change will be stated in the update notes. To prevent further confusion and remain transparent about the value you are getting, from that moment on we will also list all compensation values for Premium Shop content in all package descriptions, regardless of whether they are discounted or not. We will also update our Terms of Service to make sure they are not ambiguous about which content is compensated, when that compensation applies and which currency will be transferred to your accounts. We’re committed to improving communications and transparency, as well as maintaining a level playing field between regional communities. This yet again shows us how far we still have to go, but we sincerely hope you’ll all stay with us and guide us along the way. -
I hope that we're slowly getting to the point where you guys realize that we do actually listen to the feedback you provide Thanks for commenting and getting involved!

This was also my first thought, but as we have been adding more and more dedicated tournament maps this is only rarely necessary anymore.

Its much easier to get good wine in Prague than it is to get good beer in Paris - make of that what you want... ;) It will be offset by the lack of croissant! -
This is intentional to help prevent abuse, the ability to self-inflict DoT will be disabled in 0.7.6. It will not prevent suicides, but discourage them and make them harder.

In my view its a very scummy thing to do to your team - which is why it is punished by our anti-abuse system and the post that you quoted has vanished into the forum's nether-reaches

We are planning to improve the Karma system going forward - I agree that it is a bit pointless at the moment. As to why? We have had more important things to work on unfortunately :(

We're still planning to implement a hard mode, but this will still take a while - we want to do it properly. In the meantime we will keep tweaking the PvE scenarios. We want them to be challenging but acievable. -
