  1. But I did not say soon™, I said before we will consider making the change to GC.

  3. Yes, but I also think people need to realize that it is a development blog and publishes information that is by its nature not final yet :) And thanks! Look, maybe we should have listened to more of the feedback back then, although even their opinions are rarely ever unanimous. But I would like you to consider all of the recent premium releases (maybe ignore GC, as we obviously made mistakes there) and tell me if any of them are broken OP? We're doing our best to make sure new premiums are fun and competitive without being overpowered and often are then faced with feedback that they are weak and useless ;) Its not easy.

    General feedback

This is already being investigated by the QA team as it would also hamper our tournament efforts :/ As for the port UI, check out the 0.8.1 PTS, it has some significant performance improvements for the port UI.

Clear Sky - how, after the rework?

The flags should also be available for credits along with the other combat flags. I checked regarding the achievements and, as I suspected, we will have to hold off on any change until we have reliable data about who is shooting down how many planes, to be able to set an appropriate target. We hope to have this done with 0.8.2, but cannot promise it yet.
  6. Yes and no. When we compared GC to tier 7 ships we only looked at their performance in tier VII battles, because they of course do better there than they do in tier IX games. But yes, GC stronk ;)
  7. Of course, I am but one of the cogs in the whole process. She still does very well compared to tier 7 ships in tier 7 games, but we cannot compare her to tier 8 properly yet, because she has yet to play in that tier. A ship's performance varies relative to the tier it is playing in, so we need to test that aspect first. I agree and this is the case with many ships, but some have a disparity that is too large for comfort. Correct. I know that some of you think that everything in testing is going to hit live, but that is not the case. We have not made a decision on this internally yet. And even though we are discussing it with you now for transparency's sake, live testing won't even start until 0.8.1. Correct, this is why I didn't want to comment on the stats of some of the other ships mentioned above, I have not seen the data. In general we do find that many premium ships perform better on average than silver counterparts without being visibly stronger than them, due to the players that are using them.

Campaigns and tier IX CVs ...

Its almost as though that was what we were talking about and what I said, right? Maybe instead you should try working on some basic reading comprehension? But I guess that would distract you too much from your quality contributions to this forum.
  9. We will of course have a fair compensation policy if this change takes place, regardless of how you obtained the GC. The stats of other tier 5 ships did not fit on the image, but you can check wows-numbers.com yourself for more information. And yes, this was to highlight just that. We talked about this at the beginning of yesterday's stream, you should check it out. Bu basically when looking only at tier 6 and 7 battles (so when uptiered) she still outperformed all of the tier 6 ships in relative and absolute damage. Relative damage being the percentage of a targets hitpoints that a ship removes. I don't have any details about the other ships right now, so cannot comment on whether these are excessive. I recommend you watch the segment from the stream about GC, starts at about 6 minutes:

    Upcoming Fix To AA Mechanics

As announced it will come with 0.8.2.
  11. As I have mentioned several times in other threads, IF we go ahead with the GC changes following testing, then we will do so only when there are more options to spend doubloons available in the client. This is also an aspect that is being worked on regardless of whether this change happens.
  12. World of Tanks has actually changed several premium tanks over the years, as mentioned above by @Oderisson That would be an option, but she would no longer feel like a GC as we would have to nerf her significantly. But we are not doing a data-driven-only change, that's why I am here talking to you about it! ;) Stalingrad is a special case as the average damage and winrate of the players that own her is nothing close to the general player population.
  13. Just publishing the stats is not that easy, the volume of data and relations between them is staggering. And while 3rd party sites are great and do the job for most things, they do not have close to the level of detail of each ship's performance that we have access to. I'll ask if we can publish some more details, but I don't see how that would help the discussion along. Lets face it, even with the public facing stats there is no doubt that she is overpowered. Replays are an aspect that we are still working on to make them usable for the avergae joe and not just for bug-reporting purposes. You can also now change the number of replays that are saved in the config files.
  14. Talking about stats I don't think it is necessary to go into that much detail. We talked about the issue on our balance Q&A stream yesterday and the fact is that currently GC outperforms every tier 6 battleship in tier 6 and tier 7 battles. In those games she is already doing absolutely fine and during testing we will see what happens when she faces tier 8 - because in the other two matchmaking scenarios she is clearly doing great.

    New CVs

Sure, but it is also an issue we are aware of :)

    Upcoming Fix To AA Mechanics

There is no F-key hotfix coming. We are aware that in many situations the F-key leads to assured squadron death and it is likely that there will be more tweaks to find a middle ground between an F-key that kills or saves the squadron no matter what. We're currently watching all of the numbers closely for each individual ship and will make adjustments if needed. Don't hate me for it, but I actually think its OK right now, I was doing fine when playing yesterday at tier 8+ - I understand that lower tiers are different. But we will likely make more changes until we get to a spot that is equally comfortable for everyone.
  17. Please note that the information in the Development Blog is preliminary. Italian destroyer Leone, tier VI. The Smoke Generator is replaced with a similar consumable to the American Destroyer Farragut: Сharges: 2 (Smoke Generator I) and 3 (Smoke Generator II); Cooldown: 240 sec (smoke Generator I) and 160 sec (smoke Generator II); Duration: 30 sec; Smoke dispersion time: 118 sec. Leones guns rotate quite slowly and do have not the best aiming angles. These disadvantages will remain the distinctive characteristics of the ship, but the improved parameters of the smoke screen compensate for them and allow the destroyer to effectively utilize the main caliber guns in battle. Changes to main battery: Increased initial shell velocity from 750 to 850 m / s and improved ballistics; Increased maximum AP shell damage from 2000 to 2100. This Italian destroyer had very specific ballistic parameters, that reduced the effectiveness of firing at long ranges to almost zero. These new characteristics will alleviate this issue. Soviet destroyer Neustrashimy, tier IX. The main battery can now rotate 360 degrees, allowing Neustrashimy to be more effective in battles while maneuvering. Torpedoes replaced by more powerful ones, emphasizing the role of Neustrashimy as a torpedo destroyer: Cooldown reduced from 131 seconds to 125 seconds; Maximum torpedo damage increased from 14 600 to 17 933. Japanese cruiser Yahagi, tier V. Added consumable "Engine Boost" in a separate slot; Reduced rudder shift time from 7.4 to 5.1 sec; Torpedoes replaced with new ones: Range increased from 10 to 12 km; Torpedo speed reduced from 67 knots to 60 knots; Detectability range has been reduced from 1.7 to 1.6 km; Maximum damage reduced from 20 967 to 17 233. The main problem with the torpedoes of Yahagi are the restricted firing angles. In the new concept of the cruiser, we decided to focus on them, compensating for this disadvantage with the ability to launch torpedoes whilst remaining undetected, and increasing maneuverability. Changes to main battery: Increased initial shell velocity from 825 to 850 m / s; Improved penetration of AP shells. The previous shells of the cruiser were very weak and could not penetrate the armour of similar ships. The replacement shells fix this issue and increase her effectiveness in combat. "German" battleship Viribus Unitis, tier V.** The ship has been moved to level V. The set of characteristics of the Viribus Unitis, and in particular the excellent armor, made it overly effective at tier IV. Characteristics have been adjusted to the following: The firing range of the Secondary Armament has been increased to 4 km; Detectability range increased 10.8 to 12.5 km, when firing smoke from 8.4 to 9.54 km; Firing range increased from 14.7 to 16 km; Sigma is increased from 1.5 to 1.8; Main battery turn time reduced from 60 to 45 seconds; Main battery cooldown reduced from 32 to 30 sec; Incresed AP shell fuse time up to the standard value 0.033; The ship still retains it's comparatively low visibility and with the adjusted values of the main battery she will be a worthy adversary at her new tier. ** Yes we know, it's an Austro-Hungarian ship! Japanese cruiser Azuma, tier IX. Cruiser moved to tier IX. This reallocation will allow the ship to feel more comfortable in battle. Certain values have been adjusted to to reflect the tier change: Secondary Armament firing range reduced to 5 km; Hit points reduced from 71 800 to 58 350; The armor of the central section reduced from 30 to 25 mm, as this was a special feature of the ship at tier X; Removed consumable "Hydroacoustic search"; Main battery reload increased from 18 to 20 sec; Accuracy has been changed to resemble that of standard cruisers (such as the Dm. Donskoi or Roon) instead of 'super' cruisers. The removing of the "Hydroacoustic search" consumable will emphasize the role of destroyers as one of the main opponents of large cruisers. At the same time, the new accuracy parameter will distinguish Azuma from other similar cruisers (Stalingrad, Kronstadt, Alaska), giving the cruiser a feature of Japanese cruisers - good accuracy compared to her classmates and rivals.

Campaigns and tier IX CVs ...

Just realized I didn't. The campaign missions will only be available to tier X CVs going forward, the mission description might eventually also get changed, although it doesn't make any difference with the lack of tier IX CVs.

    Supertest - Azuma

Please note that the information in the Development Blog is preliminary. In this publication we'd like to explain the reasons behind transferring Azuma from X tier to IX. When a new ship is added to the game, it's tier is decided with historical characteristics taken in account. In Azuma's case there was an idea to add it as a tier X IJN cruiser, but as testing has shown, balancing the ship would require too large of a deviation from the project's characteristics. We think that it's better for Azuma to be a good tier IX ship rather than weak tier X, so we've decided to make a transfer. Characteristics were adjusted accordingly, including the plating (30 mm thickness is a X tier cruisers trait). Accuracy became the main feature of the ship. We've noticed concerns about the Hydroacoustic Search being removed from Azuma. We understand this, but, considering all the ship's characteristics, the testing will go without this consumable. Later, if it suits the balance, the Hydroacoustic search may be brought back. But the idea to add an IJN tier X large cruiser hasn't gone. Thus we're working on the modernized version of Azuma, which will get torpedo launchers and strengthened AA and take it's place at tier X.

Supertest - Changes to Test Ships

Which is why she is going to be a premium ship and not part of the regular tech-tree. But before you freak out, please remember that she is still in testing.
  24. Why would you rather have your attack be automated than the defense? Its not as though you can't order the autopilot to initiate a turn under the current system to throw off the aim of whoever is coming for you. The example I gave was just to illustrate that there are other situations and ships where you have to make that choice. Whether or not this is something we are going to change hasn't been decided yet, but we are aware of the feedback around it.
