I do think its an elitist statement and I challenge some of your assumptions. Players could always already purchase tier 8 ships, which see the exact same battles as tier 9 ships. Bad players exist even after hundreds or thousands of battles and while experience certainly helps, many new players play better than older ones. This image of the complete newbies that just comes in and simply buys a high-tier ship right away is often propagated, but in actual fact is a rare occurence. While it is a good ship it certainly has quite a high skill-floor and is more suited to experienced captains - I wouldn't recommend it to newbies.

I heard back already and it seems it is working as intended and a limitation with the way the missions currently count plane kills. Sorry.

But we do this!? We previously did missions to obtain: Prinz Eitel Friedrich, Admiral Graf Spee, Aigle, Indianapolis, Cossack (99 cent investment needed), Varyag and Duke of York. And then you can always complete the in game campaign to get Shinonome. And finally, this month you will be able to get HMS Exeter.

Usually this would result in doubloon compensation. Its not about being a workaround, but about being able to make different kind of events - in this one you will be able to earn a lot of containers in game for free.

There will be a portal article in 10 minutes explaining everything! Unfortunately it looks like the mission only counts AA kills, not kills made by your fighters - this is working as intended. looks like a bug in the mission.

How are we turning the game into World of Warplanes? You always faced planes in Warships, we just changed how they are operated. If anything surface ships now have to worry less about planes as they are no longer capable of instant deletions. And if you have the fighters up, they will attack and follow enemy planes that get too close to you.

We felt that many of the issues we hotfixed were having a negative impact on gameplay as a whole for all the different classes. CVs are absolutely going to get more love and you can see by our announcement of planned changes that we are aware of the issues they are facing right now. I don't need you to "fall" for any lines, just wait and you'll see!

You need to remember that we run a free-to-play game with vastly different players playing it. While we love to give people the opportunity to get ships like Alaska for free by just collecting free XP over time, this is not an option for everyone and some people simply prefer not to wait. In my opinion our approach with JB and Alaska is great as it puts these unique ships into reach for everyone.

We'll have information on dates closer to launch, but you shouldn't expect anything during update 0.8.1.

They do not, they can recall planes but they remain vulnerable for a few seconds and are likely to take a lot of damage. Your fighter squad will automatically engage and follow nearby enemy aircraft until their duration expires. But they are not supposed to be a guarantee for plane kills, the enemy CV can of course avoid getting too close - but this means they did their job!

I am honestly not convinced and think the current stats should already contain enough detail about how a player performs on average.
