I was in spectator mode following one of our DDs last night. He came round behind the enemy line and then chased down three cruisers from about 5km away. In turn he came behind then alongside each cruiser (in totally open water), got so close he had to move away to allow torps time to arm, and then destroyed each ship with 5+ direct close range hits. Now the cruisers were looking the other way so to speak concentrating on our main line, but how did none of the cruisers spot him? I have tried a similar tactic and always get spotted before I can get within 4 km, yet not one shot was fired at him. My question is - how? Is there a perk that reduces detection range to virtually zero? Is there a DD with virtually zero detection range? (Cant remember what ship it was, tier 3 or 4 i think) Did he just get very lucky that he got three cruisers with tunnel vision that didn't see him coming at them on the mini map? Would love your thoughts.

There may have been a bit of secondary fire going on but I was zoomed out a bit so it wasnt obvious and if it did damage it was minimal. Didn't realise the sealclubber term had carried over from WoT :-) I reckon you are right - sealclubber picking on noobs (like me!)

I agree, I thought it not possible, but I saw him do it... three times

In the game setting there is an option "Display time in port". I have activated it but it doesn't seem to have done anything? What is it for?

LOL, is that all it does, puts the time in the bottom corner? I assumed it showed the amount of time you have had a ship so you can see how long you have had each ship!

Hi, I did find you, thanks! Such a great day, I was blown away by the number of fantastic volunteer 1940s recreationists - my kids said they felt like we had gone back in time. Had a warm welcome to the Wargaming area and a few battles in the Belfast. I'm new to WoW, only been playing a few weeks, but it felt quite lightly armoured and undergunned, although it has fantasticly fast reload and a good selection of consumables. My son and his cousins were encouraged by the friendly staff to have a go on the game and despite being only 9 and 10 and never having played the game with keyboard/mouse they managed to do about 8000 damage between them thanks to the expert guidance from the staff. All 4 of us came away with goody bags of T-Shirts and mugs despite not getting any kills. What a great developer with a great community interaction ethos. 10/10

Thanks for the reply. I know that it is at the Salute to the 40s event. What I was wondering is where in the dockyard they will be as the place is HUGE!!!

Bugger, just bought 5 tickets for me and the family! Never mind. Whilst I am here, there are no details on the wargaming events page or the Chatham Dockyard page that say where your area is going to be at the event. Where abouts are you guys going to be located?
