Toxic chat, should WG take more action?

True, but name-calling achieves nothing. If anything I imagine it has the opposite affect. A single player mode may entertain some gamers and keep committed players happy.

Toxic chat, should WG take more action?

This is a re-occurring theme in War-gaming games. Some of you are very competitive and dedicate much of your leisure time to playing these online games, while others invest less time and commitment into these games but like to have fun nonetheless. Granted fun isn't poor gameplay, friendly fire or poor situational awareness resulting in collisions. However at the lower tiers, people should be more tolerant of other gamers; rather than generating a hostile atmosphere which War-gaming and the community apparently condones. This is both destructive and nonsensical. I suggest experience gamers take more of a leadership role and offer constructive criticism to novices rather than resorting to name-calling and acting like buffoons.

That is true Orangeminus, however the War-gaming franchise must act more vigorously against repeating offenders. Current punitive measures are not having the desired affect. Hit them hard with in-game (currency) fines. Abusers will go elsewhere, while those who want to actually play....can.

Toxic chat, should WG take more action?

There is certainly an escalation in the number of abusive players of late. Like you, try to ignore it but game after game I get pissed off with all the back-chat from immature players that shout insults at team players. They say disciplining your children a crime. If there was more discipline in the western world, people would be more responsible, considerate and mature, rather than being spineless, childish cretins. And for those that say stop playing online games if you can't take the abuse, I say go get a job and stop thinking about yourselves you worthless pieces of .......

    Penalised for Friendly Damage

Last game penalized for causing damage to ally. I was in front of two ships by over a kilometer. Targeted at maximum gun range on enemy and ally positioned himself directly beside my port bow and we became locked causing damage to something which I'm penalized for. We are not playing Pirates of the Caribbean. How do I appeal the penalty decision moderators?

    Ingame chat

There needs to be some decorum within in-game chat. Granted not a lot of chat occurs in World of Warships Beta currently, but it's only a matter of time before the intolerant and antagonistic players ruin the online gaming experience for newcomers as in World of Tanks. I'm amazed at the lack of common courtesy and respect players extend to one another within the War-gaming franchise. Those players that insult others frankly need to grow-up, after all it is suppose to be an enjoyable gaming experience; not a platform for you to abuse others. For the record, everyone at some point began as a beginner and yet the cowardly minority hide behind their computers and make derisive comments without thinking about consequences. I fail to understand the acrimonious behaviour of insulting chat. What are they hoping to gain? Inspiration...more like a desperate plea to gravitate negative attention to themselves which is frankly pathetic and their actions utterly deplorable. And for all this, the War-gaming community has volumes of informative content available online to improve the playing abilities of new players. (So it isn't all bad..neh) I would like to see more condemnation from team players in retaliation to insulting players.
