    High Tier is broken

    I havent found the high tiers to be that bad, but my views are probably skewed. Without a premium account I was able to make money with the Fubuki and had games with 100k profits regularly. I have gotten a premium account since and am having no real problems staying afloat with the Kagero either (probably helped by the 70% survival rate). The games where I failed to break even were where I did a miserable amount of damage and sunk. I actually enjoy high tier IJN DD game play, even more so than low tier game play. The one thing I dont like is the base repair cost, that is paid even when you take no damage.

    Thats not how sonar works. The sonar increases the autospot range from 2km to 3.5km (or to 5km(?) for KM).     Well if thats the case and your AA was off, you werent firing or on fire, then I cant think of anything else unless you have the replay

    The speeds for all ships were changed to X.0 knots or X.5 knots. The Fubuki should have 35.5 instead of 35 and the Hatsuharu should have 37 instead of 36.5.

    Questions for Shimakaze captains

    From the Hatsuharu onwards they can. I focus on not being detected when I play IJN DDs. Most of the time when my engine goes twice and I have no smoke available, enemy ships are well within range to finish me off even if I was moving.

  9. If you don't want to keep playing then don't. Most people here aren't going to try persuade you to stay. If its help you want then ask for it. Otherwise I hope you enjoy whatever you are playing.

    What DD were you playing? Camo? Captain skills? Upgrades? It could have been an enemy DD with lower detectability range than you.

    Playing DDs only really. Tried out CAs and BBs and didn't enjoy them as much, not a fan of RTS so CVs isn't something for me.

    Questions for Shimakaze captains

    Ok I havent yet reached the Shimakaze (grinding xp on the Kagero to unlock it) but I have used the guns quite a bit on the Fubuki and to a lesser extent the Kagero. u/SXLighting on the worldofwarships subreddit has calculated and provided a spreadsheet with the stealth firing ranges of all DDs (and CAs) and their possible configurations. https://onedrive.live.com/view.aspx?resid=360E87CC23673AEC!131&ithint=file%2cxlsx&app=Excel&authkey=!ABOQSeuh09KOjjk With max range and max concealment on the Shimakaze you will have a 4.36km stealth fire buffer. From 9.2km to 13.6km. From my experiences on the Fubuki I can say that the guns are quite usable at max range (12km with a 10s flight time). While you may not rack up huge amounts of HE damage, you can finish off low hp targets, set fires, reset caps and harass enemy ships. If there are no enemy DDs or aircraft nearby you can happily spend your torpedo reload time shooting at the enemy and remain unspotted. The higher rate of fire on the Shimakazes guns will give better results. The HE damage is also the highest on IJN DD guns out of all the DDs, with a decent fire percentage. My top captain on my Fubuki is currently skilled as follows - 1 Situational Awareness 2 Torpedo reload 3 Super Intendent 4 Advanced Firing Training 5 Concealment Expert Skills I plan to get 1 Basic Firing Training 2 Gun Traverse Speed I will likely be using the same skills on my Shimakaze captain. Torpedo wise I think the 15km ones would be better. I dont think the 20km range on the Kagero is that much useful over 15km and anyway the furthest you can see without the acquisition range increase upgrade is ~16km.

    Team Killer on purpose

    There are some accidental TKs, but players who TK while pink should receive harsher punishment. I like that in WoT TK system is automatic, while it has its problems, at least it bans players instantly for continuous team damage.

    Why do I never get the new maps?

    Maps that are available depends on the tier of ship you are playing. Big Race has a max tier of 5, and Islands of Ice has a min tier of 7. This is due to the size of the maps increasing to accommodate for increased gun ranges. No idea what was up with your Kolberg.

    Team Killer on purpose

    Had a player in an Atalanta do the same earlier today, except it was to our CV. Killed himself and our only CV 2 minutes into the game. He was pink before the game even started. Would also like to know if these players are punished and what it is and how we can ensure they get punished.

    Destroyer hull upgrades

    The Mutsuki and Hatsuharu have pretty decent AA for their tier. My record number of planes shot down is 16 with the Hatsuharu. The 2 IJN DDs I think the top AA hull is worth it. It also helps that the Mutsuki gets faster firing dual purpose guns that turn fatser and the Hatsuharu gets better torpedoes.

    Hull C on the Fubuki and Kagero in my opinion is pointless for a small increase in AA (and 1300 HP on the Fubuki) you lose a turret with 2 127mm guns. On USN DDs I'm undecided while you lose the fifth gun going to the B hull anyway (except on Mahan) you also gain the defensive fire consumable, along with increased AA, replacing your speed boost

    If you have an nVida card you can use shadowplay. I believe AMD has something similar as well.
