Tier 8 and up are were most players find it difficult to keep making a credit profit without premium. To make credits at high tiers it requires you to play consistently well. Your options are to: 1. Buy Premium account +50% credits. 2. Play more matches in at lower tiers to make credits. 3. Buy a Premium ship for credit earning. 4. Do more damage.

How many torpedoes did you fire and miss? Torpedoes for the Shimakaze are quite expensive.

It the fact it only has 2 turrets. One getting destroyed has a much bigger impact on the Ognevoi. -

Kiev is the best non-premium tier 7 DD I'd say. Just after unlocking the Taskent, but I am not keeping the Kiev since I have the Blyskawica. -
Would be nice for there to be some differences between the ships, but since they all appear as the regular Kongo for non-Yokosuka users I dont see that happening.

I cant see the Grem being put on sale again since it escaped all the nerfs other RU DDs received. I think WG said they are doing a major rework on her, if she does ever go on sale again she will probably be sold using the new system that allows certain players access to special offers.

Usage of "Premium Consumables" - do you guys use it on all your ships/tiers or use it selectively?

All premium consumables (except spotter planes when I rarely play BBs), all ships. Also using the camo with both bonuses for 22500 credits a game as well. -

You say it as if it is a bad thing. Couldnt see myself playing with that filter. Would be nice for screenshots. -
Best maybe 4 skill for USN DDs (5% -> 8%). For IJN (if you are using your guns) and RU DDs (9% -> 12% for both) AFT is the better choice with demo expert as a 2nd level 4 skill maybe. I did take it on my Blyskawica (8% -> 11%) which has turned it into a real flamethrower.

I will try give some tips for the Benson (most of these will probably apply to the Lo Yang dont have it myself but from the stats they are very similar, but hydro-acoustic may change the way you play it.) The Benson is a great all round DD. Both the guns and torpedoes are very usable along with good speed, stealth and the best smoke at tier 8. On the pre-match loading screen you should take a look at the enemy DDS to see what you are up against. Know which ones can be stealthier than you. The stats dont take into account captain skills or modules. Against most IJN you can aggressively push caps, You will see RU DDs long before they see you so you can chose to engage them or not. Early game pick a flank/cap to go to. Keep an eye on your mini-map to ensure you arent alone. If you come across an enemy DD engage them. Point your bow towards them if they go broadside on between shots to avoid torpedoes. If the engagement isnt favourable (you take more damage than them, they have more support) smoke and get out, DDs are best when alive in the late game. Against BBs you will want to use your torpedoes mainly. If you flood a BB and you are mostlt safe from CAs other DDs or can drop smoke. Wait until they repair the flooding and start shooting at them with hopes of starting a fire or two. Against CAs you should use AP against broadsides at close ranges or is they are poorly armoured like the Pensacola and Admiral Hipper. Use HE if they are angled or are a good distance out. Try to contest any cap that isnt well defended as the game goes on. In the late game your speed will help cap and mop up HP stragglers. If you have any replays I could try and give you some more advice. I can also put up some of my own if you want.
