This is why I think it is a nerf as well. The people saying the Shimakaze will be like a high tier Minekaze seem to forgetting that the Shimakaze has a turning circle bigger than some BBs, bleeds a lot of speed in turns is a big target compared to other DDs. Never mind the fact that radar is now a thing at high tiers making your escape impossible at times. There were plenty of times playing the Fletcher with 10.5km torpedoes that I wised I had longer range. At least with the Fletcher I wasnt solely reliant on torpedoes for doing damage. Playing the Gearing, Shimakaze and Fubuki (15km torpedoes) there were time I would just launch torpedoes at a target far away, not that I expected to hit bu that there was no better target. Sometimes I would land a hit or two. Having unlocked the Gearing recently, which I already prefer to the Shimakaze, I dont see a reason to play the Shimakaze in the future when this patch hits.

Seen quite a few today. Shaka_D was playing his Saipan, unfortunately we lost this battle after a close finish. Noobsplatter and Crusherheads were both on the enemy team playing Shimakaze and Gearing, they won that one. Tyrendian89 who I didnt notice until I sunk him and his Zao.

More torpedo dodging skills than a whole team of WoWS players combined.

AA acts like an aura in this game. You can be shooting at a ship and your dual purpose guns will still be contributing to your AA DPS.

The upgraded main battery is dual purpose. This means it can shoot at both aircraft and ships.

They are scary to meet as a DD.

There are 2 torpedo options. 1. 11k damage 9.2km range 55knots 109s reload which is the same as the stock torpedoes on the Benson. 2 16k damage 6km range 68knots 122s reload, similar to the Benson top torpedoes but has higher speed for less range. The Lo Yang has 14600HP which is 800 less than the Benson B and C hulls. The Hydro Acoustic search lasts for 2 minutes, spots Ships at 3.5km and torpedoes at 2.5km. Which is an option against Speed Boost and Defensive Fire.

Seen Noobsplatter in a game today. We won easily enough with the enemy team *cough* 159Hunter *cough* spending most of the game running away.

Would definitely like this for signal flags. I would spend it all on Juliet Charlie signals.

I had a very enjoyable game with 5 DDs aside. Me (Gearing) and a Hindenburg teamed up to sink 3 of the 4 DDs that pushed on our side.

Seen waxx25 last night. We were both in Gearings. His team won on points despite my best efforts.
