    Slowing down to nearly a stop before using offensive smoke. Trying not to rely on defensive smoke.

    Torpedoes spread out over their range making it even easier for ships to pass between them.

    Yet BBs have >30% hit rates despite all the 20km "snipers" and all their RNG.

    We cant talk about adding RNG to torpedoes when they have hit rates of >30%.

    Fletcher gun range

    The top torpedoes are much better than the stock ones, though the stock ones are usable. The ranges that USN DDs stealth fire at have a long shell flight time making stealth fire not that useful. If you have CE and the concealment module you can stealth fire from ~9.3km which is useful against BBs.

    Fletcher gun range

    You are shooting targets at 14km? Do you have AFT or the Gun Fire control system? Fletcher max range is 12.9km which is more than enough with the rainbow arcs USN DDs have. Below 10km is where your guns are most effective against bigger ships and below 8km against other DDs. The extra range is useful when shadowing a BB sailing in a straightish line. But the Fletcher has great torpedoes (better than the Kagero torpedoes). These should be your main weapons against BBs. Use your guns for dealing with other DDs, setting fires on BBs, and finishing off low HP ships.

    They do. However it is very short. The gap between your ship and the green area in you torpedo aim is the arming distance.

    The torpedo damage stats before had ship and air launched separate. So it is probably a 5% drop in ship launched torpedo damage including CAs and the occasional Tirpitz. Most of which would be lost be IJN DDs because of the changes made. I cant imagine what other changes (nerfs) they have in mind. Looks like it is going to be a slow butchering.

    Dont tell the BBs to sit back and snipe. They already do that too much, without a reason.

    Is the grinding time too long?

    I find the grind much easier in WoWS than in WoT.
  17. would be nice to know what the secret milestone is and if we need a certain number of diamonds to get it. Other than the Smith none of the other prizes interest me too much.

    Why didn't USA torps get detection nerf?

    The Benson torpedoes are very slow. Their low detection isnt a problem. The 1.4km detection on the Fletcher and Gearing torpedoes along with 66knots speed makes them the best torpedoes in the game. I would have liked to see a IJN DD gun buff with the torpedo nerfs. Range, RoF, traverse speed. Would have made IJN DDs more consistent and fun to play.
