Hi Captains I need help to decide which ships or class of ships I should try. I hope you can help. I've been playing wows for a couple of weeks now and tried all of the ship classes at low tiers. I've figured out that I like the IJN Destroyers, mainly due to the close quarters high risk/reward action - it seems fun. I've worked on my strategy and feel that I can play this class quite well now. I'm at the tier five Minekaze and researched the tier six. This line is basically the only one I enjoy playing so far. The problem now is that the high tier IJN DDs don't seem as powerful, tier for tier, as the Minekaze, so is it worth grinding that line to end up with weaker ships tier for tier? As I did in WOT, I would prefer to take tanks/ships which have extreme strengths compensating their extreme weaknesses rather than all rounder (Jack of all trades). I may be under-informed but my opinion/experience on other classes are as follows: USN DD's - only good for countering other DD's. (IJN have better torpedos) BB's appear to be slow and only good for slugging it out long range. CA's seem good at low tiers with their many guns and fast ROF however this seems to be lost with the addition of torpedo tubes. CV's are boring. Please correct me if I'm wrong on the above and please suggest some ships/lines that may match my criteria. [One other point: Why is it so difficult to compare ships? Is there a way I can get the stats of two difference ships lined up so I can compare? ie In WOT you can right click then select vehicle details on as many tanks as you like, each time bringing up a box of the tanks stats, which you can use compare them] Thanks Maties

What you don't want an all rounder? Which ships have glaring weaknesses buffed up with glaring strengths?

Thanks mate I didn't spend much time researching the USN DDs, perhaps the speed of torpedos may come in handy - although the IJN DDs do have a fast, short range torpedo option as well. I'll give the USN CAs a try. I'm guessing that if by the time i get to the Cleveland and still don't like them I never will?

Any other suggestions? Please explain why a ship/class would be good for me rather than just stating 'X ship is good' Thanks

Every ship in that class? Are there any useful guides about for this class or can you provide some insight? Though you said CA. I Agree that that CV are powerful but have to say that they are boring for me personally.

Thanks for the reply. If I want to play torpedos I'll use IJN DDs since they are superior even to the IJN CAs. The USN cruisers did look appealing but the torpedos seem to make their Artillery significantly weaker. I would prefer to have a Artillery only Cruiser. The tier 3 St. Luis artillery is rated at '50' compared to circa '53' on the tier 6 Cleveland - appears to be a small increase for 3 tiers is this number at all useful for comparability? :S

I was surprised at how well WOWs works graphics wise. Much improved graphics vs WOT and much smoother game play for me.
