    Please develop COOP more

Isn't there some kind of "training room" for that kind of thing? Although I must admit, I can see why WG wouldn't let people play with every ship in the game, even in a custom match. A large part of the idea of progressing through tiers, is that you get rewarded with access to bigger and badder ships. If you could just go into the training room to set sail in a Yamato, even though you had only got as far as to the Kawachi in the ship tree, I think a certain something would be lost.

    Please develop COOP more

More varied and challenging coop modes could be entertaining, if they were done well.
  3. I like the text on those torpedo tubes even better: "If you are close enough to target this, it's about to sink you."
  4. I have to agree with all the above posts. Unless the Graf Spee could manage to pull off a torpedo ambush, or maybe manage to stay behind and beyond the firing arcs of the main guns on the Dunkerque, I cant really vote for a German victory, here.

    Admiral Graf Spee- premium T6?

Considering what I've read and heard about the Graf Spee so far, I expect that a deciding factor for her gameplay will be how accurate those guns are. With only six of them in, two turrets, they will probably have to be more accurate than is typical for a battleship - otherwise the lack of battleship armour and cruiser speed will be tricky to compensate for.

Elimination thread 3: Tier VII *Winner!*

For the record: If I could have allotted two +1 points, one of them would have gone to the Blyskawica, for basically the same reasons yankee05 states in post no. 11 above! Edit: I just reread the rules, and noted that I actually can vote again, in approximately 4 hrs 30 minutes. Please regard this as a letter of intent.

I've also used the chat abuse report in those situations. I don't find myself obliged to make a report all that often, but informing on one's own team over all-chat is such a spiteful way of ruining the game - for both sides, really.

    Campaign SoV M5T6

Wait, do they have a BB YOLO DEATHRUSH campaign goal up and running? Why on earth would they want to promote kamikaze gameplay? I guess it's better than borderhugging, but still...

    Guide: British Cruisers

I am missing an option to report players on account of "unsportsmanlike conduct". "Poor gameplay", in my mind, is something different - it's more like someone choosing to chase down the last, irrelevant destroyer, instead of capping, and thereby losing the game. It can be frustrating but it's not something I would ever report someone for. It's up to everyone to decide how best to try and win the game. "Unsportsmanlike conduct", on the other hand, would cover downright bad behaviour, such as intentionally blocking a team mate, or informing the enemy team in all-chat where one's allies are on the map.

how it feels to play the ROYAL NAVY LINE

That's an awkward comparison to make, between a bunch of very manoeuvrable light cruisers and a really big, heavy battleship. It's two completely different sorts of playstyles. If it's any help, I've found the guns of the Leander to be much more capable, relatively speaking, than those of the Danae. I can't comment on the Emerald since I skipped past it due to the almost unanimous downgrading of that ship on this forum. As for the Fiji, most voices on the forum seem to suggest that she's a kick-[edited]ship, as light cruisers go. My experience in the Belfast leads me to say that this is probably true, although I've yet to see how well the improved British AP stands up to the loss of HE at that tier.

how it feels to play the ROYAL NAVY LINE

How it Feels to Play Against the Royal Navy Cruiser Line First thought when spotting a Fiji coming out from behind an island: "Haha, puny cruiser with no HE, how will you ever hurt me...?!" Two smokes, five citadel hits and about a bazillion torpedoes later: "Oh, yeah. I forgot about that."

    Missouri 750k free xp ?

In view of Mr Conways post no. 257 above, where he states that getting the Missouri could be set as a sort of long-term goal in the game, I would say that the proper way to go about this would be to have the her available, on unchanging terms, indefinitely. Everyone would know that each free XP is another 750th step of rest of the way,* there would be no pressure to blow up a whole stockpile of free XP in one go, and one needn't worry about the scenario of spending those 750 000 free XP one week and finding the ship on a huge discount sale the next. Considering the impossibility inadvisability of making absolute guarantees in the ever-changing online gaming world, I interpret Mr Conways statement, that "we are not planning to remove it any time soon, please don't feel that we are putting any pressure on you to get it right now", as the nearest thing to such a guarantee that we could reasonably expect. * Yes, I am aware that only the first of those free XP would actually be one 750th part of the rest of the way. The next would be one 749th part, and so on. But writing that out in the text would ruin the dramatic momentum. Bear with me.

    Sigh Missions

I very seldom bother with actively trying to complete any type of missions, since that usually interferes with my fun. I refuse to be baited into playing the game in a way I don't enjoy. As for the "kill X number of Y enemies" types of missions, I am surprised Wargaming has included those in WoWs, since they have been proved to be actively hurtful to good gameplay I WoT. I can't imagine they will be any better here. The good types of missions are those that are best fulfilled simply by playing the game in a normal way, such as, for instance, receiving a certain number of hits with the main armament, or a given number of capture points. When I receive a reward for those, I actually feel like I've been rewarded for having fun. Now, that is a good feeling!

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

I had two really great games yesterday; the first in my Gremyaschy destroyer and the second in my König battleship. 1. Fear the Gremlin! Chapter One - Cap(italist) Oppression Relieved Scared off a pesky little imperialist destroyer, and capped the nearest base in domination. Also lobbed a few long range shots into a Kirov-class cruiser, which withdrew. Chapter Two - the King is Dead! Responded to an urgent call for assistance from an allied cruiser, who was under attack from an enemy König-class battleship. Charged and launched two torpedo salvoes at the König from 4.2 km range, forcing it to disengage, hitting it directly astern with one torpedo, suffering multiple hits from the enemy secondary batteries before withdrawing out of sight. The König sank shortly thereafter from flooding caused by said torpedo. Chapter Three - Sighted Kirov; sank same The enemy Kirov-class cruiser returned to contest the cap. Despite having retained less than 2000 hp from the previous encounter, I decided to engage him with my main batteries. I opened fire at slightly more than 10 km range, exchanging several salvoes with the enemy ship. Due to the cruiser captain fortuitously deciding to remain on the broadside, I managed to land at least six or seven AP salvoes, scoring four citadel hits and sinking the Kirov from almost full hp, receiving no hits in return. Chapter Four - Vodka for Everyone! Won the battle. 2. Long Live the King! Chapter One - the Attack Pushed north, landing several salvoes into approaching enemy battleships. Reached the northern end of the map and found myself alone against the main part of the enemy fleet, receiving heavy fire. Chapter Two - the Retreat Decided to withdraw around the Island of Gratuitous Cover. Pursued by two battleships and at least three light cruisers. Headed back south, exchanging fire with the enemy, sinking one Danae-class cruiser and heavily damaging a Furutaka-class cruiser; forcing the latter to break off pursuit. Superior German engineering allowed me to outdistance all enemy capital ships with the exception of another König-class battleship, as well as to survive numerous hits from the latter's main armament. Chapter Three - the Trap is Sprung! Having dealt with those few enemy ships who were not on my tail, my fleet comrades came back west and smashed the strung-out and battered remnant of the enemy fleet. I made a port turn around Payback Island and sank the enemy König, thereby also ending the battle. Chapter Four - Riesling for the Captain, Haselnuss Schnapps for the Crew! Won the battle.
  22. The Unfounded Report Request In one game I played today, one of the players on the enemy team (a dead one) suddenly asked, in all-speak, that we should all report a certain Fuso captain on his team. Said captain was currently fencing off the determined attacks from at least three opposing ships, and presumably had neither the time nor the inclination to respond. Since I had just been sunk, and had both the time and the inclination, I spoke up and asked for the reason why we should report the Fuso captain. - Dead Enemy Team Player: "because noob player" - Me: "That is not a valid reason to report, son... even if it were true." - Dead Enemy Team Player: "u dont see u noob as well... he sleeping" - Me: --- Shortly thereafter, the Fuso player, while hopelessly outnumbered, managed to place a parting salvo into one of his enemies, thereby gaining the Confederate award even as he sank before the onslaught of vastly superior forces. Whatever else he might have been, he was certainly not sleeping. He went on to place himself as the number one on the post-battle list, having sunk five enemy ships. I would have liked to be able to say that his chat nemesis ended up at the bottom of the list, but that wasn't so - he was very near the top as well. Which makes it even more puzzling, in a way - since it would take a true noob to make a noob out of that Fuso player. I am inclined to attribute it to spite, but in all fairness, I simply don't know.

    Driving around in SNIPER MODE

You know, this is one instance where I can honestly say that there is no reason for your ally to be overly sore about getting sunk by a friendly torpedo, assuming that you explained to him what had just happened. It sounds like the kind of accident which does not stem from a blatant disregard for fair play and good gaming etiquette. Your allied Kagero captain might, however, conceivably be a bit sore at being depicted as "dumb" in your post here, solely on account of having had the bad luck of getting accidentally sunk by an ally. Why do you feel the need to belittle a fellow gamer on the forum?

    Driving around in SNIPER MODE

Let's sum the main arguments of this debate up, shall we? - First line only torping advocates: "Captains on ships carrying torpedoes should take responsibility for their own actions, and try to avoid sinking their allies." - Second line torping advocates: "Those who get torpedoed by their own allies are either braindead, inbred or clueless, and deserve to get sunk." Since I am not a fan of argument by abuse, I'll remain unconvinced by those who blame the victims. If I missed a particularly inspired insult out of all those hurled around above, please let me know.
