Tirpitz secondary artillery up to par?

Short answer: I think the Tirpitz is balanced just fine. Torpedoes on her vs. better secondaries on the Bismarck, makes for balance as well as varied gameplay. As for historical accuracy: In a game like this, that is not a simulation, balance must always be the guiding principle. Otherwise it would swiftly become unplayable.

I took CE over AFT in the new skill tree (can't afford both), but I am still far from convinced which is the better choice. CE makes for greater versatility, even in early- and mid-game, but AFT is probably the stronger build.

Captain Skills Distribution Guide for 0.6.0

Sooo... you'd start the match with actually torping, or dive-bombing, yourself? A sort of S&M-flavoured tactic?

As long as people keep subtracting 3 points with every post, the numbers will drop swiftly.

Captain Skills Distribution Guide for 0.6.0

Shouldn't this be a "pinned" thread? So that it's always at the top of the first page? It's kinda the go-to thread right now, as far as I'm concerned.

How is your S.DRAGON mission going?

I really like the design, so over the top it's actually looking good! But I seriously doubt I'll have the time to grind that much xp. Best of luck to those of you who do; at least I'll get to look at the ship in game!
  8. That's the problem - you don't see them. There's only this firebreathing, torpedospamming smoke cloud up ahead... ...but yeah, you're right. There are not enough Flints around to truly upset the ecosystem.
  9. Good feedback from the WG staff, here. Thanks, Tuccy!

  11. I think it's called a "funnel". Or possibly "smokestack". You can never be quite certain, when you're on naval terms...

    Blyskawica captain skills?

"Now, isn't that typical of a Pole - brings a gun to a knife fight?!" Yes, well, you are quite right. But you can't always choose your field of battle. Better to have fast guns and not need them, than need them and not have them, I say! "Good morning, Sir, this is your personal HUD assistant. You are currently in the crosshairs of four - [4] - enemy ships. Have a good death." And yes, you're right again - Priority Target is my next priority skill. Although the effect on my nerves, when I see the little number appear above my "Detected" sign as a discreet harbinger of incoming doom, makes the wisdom of this choice somewhat debatable.

0.6.1 Equipment changes. Next cash sinks?

    ...oh. Well, , then.

0.6.1 Equipment changes. Next cash sinks?

The Smoke Generator modification 1, and Spotting Aircraft modification 1, sounds like they would be a major boost for the Perth, at any rate?

    Karma Challenge

I always start a match by wishing everyone, in all-chat, "Good luck & have fun!". I almost always get a number of nice responses, from both sides (which is a welcome change from WoT, I can tell you that for free). Until fairly recently I used to end my matches by writing "GG" in the all-chat, basically meaning to say "Thank you everyone, we've all been having a good time gaming together!". But after having read a lot of posts on this forum, according to which quite a number of players tend to interpret "GG" as an insult depending on whether they won the game or not, I've started writing "Thx for the game!" instead. If someone decides to take that as an insult, well, I can't stop them.
  16. On the occasion when some actually asks nicely for a course of action, I might be tempted to comply just to reward good manners and in the spirit of teamplay. (If I see the chat post at all, that is. I am somewhat lax at keeping tabs on the chat when I'm in the middle of battle; that is something I probably ought to work on.)
  17. Reply to post no 2: Thanks for the quick and informative answer! Reply to post no 3: Good video! It sure looks weird... (...and isn't that Bigfoot, manning one of the for'ard AA guns?)

But still better looking than any other nation's camo in the game.

    Blyskawica vs Leningrad

My advice would be to pick the Blyskawica. Great versatility and simply tons of fun from the start. But you really can't make a bad choice, here - both ships are great!

Elimination thread 3: Tier VII *Winner!*

Well, basically this is a matter of personal preference, which ties in to individual playstyles. The same ship works differently for different players, even assuming the same level of skill.

I don't vote on a hypothetical one-on-one end game scenario, here, but on the ships' respective qualities in the game as a whole. That's how I understood this thread, anyway. But I can only speak for myself.

    Blyskawica captain skills?

I guess you are right. But I would still feel hampered without Expert Marksman in a knife-fight - and I do so love wreaking havoc on enemy destroyers, with those seven 127 mm guns blazing away at point-blank range!

    Blyskawica: 41 + 1 = 42 Belfast: 32 - 3 = 29 Scharnhorst: 42 The Blyskawica or the Scharnhorst? I can't pick one before the other, really.
  24. Beautiful picture in the opening post, McCavity! I get the feeling that it's not even a montage, either, but the real deal? My words of advice would be, don't worry too much about your performance! Just do the best you can, and try to have fun!

It's "44 and pushing 50", actually. But I missed the opportunity to fit that in previously!
