    American VS Japanese carriers.

Always choose reliability and practicality over laughable notions such as skill or talent. The latter approach didnt help Japanese much against Americans historically vis-a-vis ship design and personel selection. Same applies to the game; at tier 6-8 US carriers are just better at dealing with all classes whereas Japanese specialize against battleships and clueless cruisers. Furthermore US planes are faster, more resilient and strike in squads of three instead of two. These variables and especially the variable involving the strike squad size might not seem to be important but when the time necessary for planes to fly to the target and return along with limited window of opportunity due to lethality of flak is taken into consideration, Ranger and Lexington simply come out on top. As for tier 4-6 British carriers... their area saturation bombs are fatal against any destroyer regardless of how much it tries to evade. I hate destroyers with a passion so Furious and Ark Royal were and still are my favourite tier 6 CVs. Long story short; pick US carriers.

Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance

Well... I guess it was foolish to expect this forum to be exempt from a mega thread of this nature. At least it is not 500 pages+700 deleted pages long like the one in WoT Blitz but sadly the arguments are nearly identical. I am just gonna drop my opinion regarding the proposed +1/-1 matchmaker I saw here and there in this forum. You guys dont want that. Wargaming tried it in WoT Blitz like 4 years ago. Initially it made the games a lot more balanced and enjoyable but on the long run Wargaming completely lost its vision and in a bid to replace its unbalanced mm based monetary model, it ruined the enjoyability of the game by pumping it full of overpowered tier 7-8 premiums, continously making Puerto Rico like obtainable through cash events, readjusting/standardizing all of tier 7-8 vehicles to make them competitive against tier 8 premiums with exclusive focus on firepower and armor while screwing over mobile tanks and tier 5-6 consecutively. Mobility lost its once dominant aspect and the games gradually became more static. Of course Wargaming has different development teams for their different titles but the core concepts regarding tiering and monetization is the same for both . As such it is much better for WoWs to have 2+/2- spread no matter how unfair it is for the tried and tested alternative is a lot more detrimental to the game in the long run.
  3. After having a nice super uni career in WoT Blitz for 5 years, I got bored of tanks and mobile gaming and took an interest in warships for a change of pace. I have finished the grind for Ranger, Ryuujo and I am still playing with Furious to grind XP for Implacable. Unfortunately, the first thing I realized in stock Lexington and Kaga ( not bought, given by WG for a period of time ) was that tier 9-10 aa is no joke and even a small formation of battleships and cruisers ( US and UK in particular ) can very quickly deplane an entire squadron if flown carelessly. As such, I have decided to halt for a moment with the purpose of getting the communities opinion in whether if I am ready or not for tier 8 CVs. I do not know whether if there is an WN8 rating or something similar for WoWS so I am creating a sheet with similar parameters used for calculating WN8 in WoT Blitz. Battle Count Win Rating Damage Spot Rate K/D Ratio Plane kills Ryuujo 80 %60 68706 7 6,31 4,3 Ranger 50 %52 67548 7,6 3,06 5,4 Furious 23 %43 73045 7,1 2,57 5 For non-numerical information, from self-observation I can say that I usually have 1-2 fighter consumables remaining in bomber and torpedo planes even towards late game. I particularly good at sniping aggressively maneuvering DDs and BB super structures with Japanese and British rockets but my aim tends to fall short with US rockets. It is the similar case with torpedoes vis-à-vis nations… can do over-the-island and 2 stage torp strikes ( first for fixing the ship in a course with astern torps and second for perfect broadside ). Still have troubles with torpedoing good DD players. Dive bombers ( both AP and HE ) are the bane of my existence with their god-awful dispersion even with properly executed strikes. The only exception is British bombers. I tend to focus down DDs or BBs. I usually use rockets and torps for Japan, bombers and torps for British, rockets and bombers for US. That is all I can think of. Looking forward to the feedback. Thanks in advance. Edit 1: https://wows-numbers.com/player/551768357,UncleSweetshare/ . No idea why Wargaming didnt allow us to use our accounts while playing via Steam.
