    Austrian-Hungarian Ships

you have to post some pictures of some of the beauties, otherwise you will not convince anyone semi-dreadnought SMS Radetzky pre-dreadnought SMS Erzherzog Ferdinand Max pre-dreadnought SMS Babenberg GALLERY armored cruiser SMS Sankt Georg GALLERY but as others said, there is no chance for tree because A-H ships wouldnt get further than tier 4 (tegetthoff class maybe to tier 5 with fictional upgrades). not to mention that there was just one dreadnought class of battleship, the rest were pre-dreadnoughts and i seriously doubt we ever see any other than mikasa in the game. only way are premiums or if there ever be some mixed european tree, but my bet is that there wont be more than two A-H ship in the game ever EDIT: i completely forgot about never-built designs...maybe A-H battleships and battlecruisers could see even tier 6

    Change to flood mechanics

they were widespreaded initially but quickly withdrawn (in 1943 us navy ordered to use impact only)...but they saw some renaissance at the very end - royal navy and kriegsmarine were more succesful than us navy though

    Change to flood mechanics

angling would not affect chance of flooding...however torpedos wouldnt detonate, if they would hit at very sharp angle, but bounced off...but i didnt say anything
  4. the game will probably end up in space anyway because wg runs out of ideas how to make a line interesting, so they are coming with solutions like ships which accelerate like in vacuum, dont loose speed at turns and now 20 000t cruisers going 42 knots

    tiny immersion nitpick

havent played it for years but i think the tanks are way too quick and agile to feel believable.

    tiny immersion nitpick

yeah. it may be prettier maybe, but my point was about duration and i think that slow down the animation to half or third speed would do the trick for the time being ... i think this game did it pretty well and it doesnt have as dazzling graphics as wows EDIT: i must admit that all the effects (smokes, explosions...) look imho better and more realistic than in wows

    French Cruisers-Looking Good!

guys, mass affects speed (indirectly) - to reach certain speed heavier ship needs more horse power while lighter ship needs less horse power + of course bow shape, waterline lenght, number of propellers, number of boilers and their technology affect that too. thats why fast battleships were long: they had enough waterline lenght, enough propellers and enough big engine room to fit all the needed machinery...now take a look a henry iv https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C8FLEqKWsAAPy8u.jpg ...and keep in mind that this ship have nine 240mm...i simply cant belive that his boilers, even overloaded, would be able to give him more than 37 knots (does anyone know about some source with the data for this project? i was able to find only saint-louis') EDIT: founded this picture (courtesy of dseehafer from us forum) http://i.imgur.com/hNFnCQA.jpg ...so henry will be the second longest cruiser in the game which indeed indicates that he should be appromiximately as fast as moskva. however i still think that his boost should be less effective than the boost of lower tiers cruisers as im saying below i think speed boost is a good feature for french. it represents well the fact that some french cruisers managed to reach pretty formidable speeds on trials. however i wouldnt get them constant ratio of 15% for speed boost but rather dropping ratio like starting with 15% with émile bertin (8 000t) - which shoud get that imho too because it was the fastest ship of them while he reached 40 knots on trials - and ending with henry iv (20 000t) at lets say 8%. it would keep things believable. i know that some think that henry needs those 40 knots to survive but dont forget that he will sail most of the time with 35 knots anyway (and thats still pretty good speed imho). wg shouldnt push the boundaries too far. if henry is not competitive enough i dont think that giving him insane speed is the answer

    French Cruisers-Looking Good!

;) yeah. but back to the topic...the fact is that henry iv would most probably not be able to reach 40 knots and whether he(she) needs that for balance is highly debatable. im more into keeping things believable. speed boost to max 39 knots (singal included) is more than enough for this heavy cruiser imho

    French Cruisers-Looking Good!

Gojuadorai you are right. the mass doesnt affect the speed but the acceleration. but the more mass means that the more powerful engines you need to reach the 40 knots
  12. puxflacet

    French Cruisers-Looking Good!

you need the energy not just to accelerate but to mantain that speed
  13. puxflacet

    French Cruisers-Looking Good!

more mass needs more powerful engines. and there are technological limits how much energy they can produce so beyond that limit the only way to increase the efficiency is to have more boilers which means bigger engine room. so this ship would have to be extremely long. henry certainly doesnt look very long

    French Cruisers-Looking Good!

not with her displacement and she doesnt look long enough not to mention how big would have to be her engine room (or what fuel would it even use). fastest ship was la fantasque with 45 knots but she was nearly 10 times lighter. fastest heavy cruiser was probably mogami which went 37 knots and that was in her 155mm configuration (8500t) i have no problem with the speed boost giving her extra speed. but i think that more than 39 knots are just not physicaly possible - she should have hard cap 39 knots
  15. puxflacet

    French Cruisers-Looking Good!

i know that distances are compressed but the speed is conversed to that difference. ships kept so far their believable speed with relation to each other, their displacement and look. but this is going way too far. and i simply see no reason for her to be this fast. she certainly doesnt need that for balance reason. she would be fast enough with just 35 knots

    French Cruisers-Looking Good!

so henry iv will really go over 40 knots? thats just ridiculous. isnt this ship suppose to have displacement over 20 000t? besides i am not aware of any heavy cruiser which went faster than 37 knots. there should be hard cap at least 39 knots for heavy cruisers. but other than that there is simply no need for this ship to be this absurdly fast. another stupid feature which has no justification - same with british cruisers who dont loose speed at turns and accelerate like in vacuum for no reason strange that émile bertin doesnt even have the boost when he reached the fastest speed on the trials

SMS Lützow - a good Premium Ship :-)

RAMJB, on 03 April 2017 - 01:47 AM, said: And I hear people about not having "fictional refits", however if any of those ships is going to make it into the regular lines of the Royal Navy (and there are enough ships and projects to make a pure BC line), those ships will have multiple hulls and those ships will see "fictional refits" wether people like it or not, which will bring whichever ship is selected into T5 realm.Same with the Lutzow class. If we're going to see a german parallel battlecruiser line at some point, either Lutzow or Derrflinger, the one chosen, will have hull upgrades that will parallel the König's upgrades, making either of them T5 aswell. yeah. however this thread is aimed for historical sms lutzow as premium RAMJB, on 03 April 2017 - 01:47 AM, said: Tier 5 for the regular ships also is sensible because, opposite from what you believe, it leaves tier 4 open for other iconic ships that would not be represented otherwise and that, indeed, did exist and can fit in T4. Like either the Indefatigable or Invincible in the case of the british, or any of the Moltke/Seydlitz/von der Tann in the case of the germans. There's enough room for having premiums out of some of those ships too, but if we're going to have regular lines at least one those ships you must have available for T4 to make the WW1 battlecruisers any justice. And for the regular lines hull upgrades will be part of them, as they are for every other ship in the game. That upgrade will raise those ships to post WW1 and pre-WW2 standards. Tier 5 is the place for both the Lutzow and the Lion class in that case.Note I'm not opposed to see some of those ships in WW1 pure outfit in T4 as premiums. But not as regular ships, and all my comments are aimed at the tier placement of those ships in an hypotetical regular line. unfavorable state of game timeline for these ships was debated. i recommend these threads BB's stock hulls initiave and WOWS#1 - Tiering System & Power Progression
