but firstly you have to find out somewhere which are these ships...and you can not do that in the game (unless you have all of them in the port)
-
"this ship might have radar" for enemy ships (even if she doesnt have it - basically just the list of radar capable ships but directly in the game interface) ...and "my radar is ready" for friendly could be indeed helpful as other suggested
-
indeed you need the second hull to mount the radar
-
...and stick to you monitor...skilllllzzzzz
-
and that would be exactly what would everyone do if he would see the icon over the ship with radar "wait he has radar i cant lay smoke screen. i have to come up with other solution" there is just no skill involved. it is just about memorizing these ships...player with bad memory and player with less skills isnt the same thing
-
no. game should inform you about its basic mechanic itself. i can imagine that players which meet the radar ship for the first time are frustrated when they have no clue what made them destroyed....if even game would warn you "hey watch out - there will be ships with radar in the match" harvest damage on these players is definitelly no skill.
-
you liked his comment which is saying that memorizing these ship is not hard yet you are saying that it is skill....
-
i didnt say it is hard but rather inconvenient. game already informs player about lot of things but this crucial information you can not find out in the game itself
-
i completed the badges half way through the campaign and didnt even do all the tasks...definitely no need to buy anything

they are actually not. they were always desined for long range sniping. thats the reason why high tier american battleships are so squishy - they had good deck armor but not very good belt armor since it was obvious that they will fight on long distances so majority of the shells will hit the deck and not the belt. so now iowas citadel had to be lowered because in this game she is constantly in close fight situations for which her armor was never designed...german battleships are actually exception not rule and it will be probably more apparent when other lines come into the game EDIT: althought you wrote "most" and it is true that low tier bbs are better suited for brawling than high tier bbs

and shes real beauty...i was a bit sceptical at first if these 15 inches will suit her but i must admit that they do

i occasionally have an impression that wg's ships feel more like scale models on a pond rather than these monstrous thousand ton beasts. after some time i realized where this sensation came from: the shells' water splashes animations are way to quick and look like from a bullet rather than from a warship shell let speak the witness of battle of jutland: "With each salvo fired by the enemy I was able to see distinctly four or five shells coming through the air. They looked like elongated black spots. Gradually they grew bigger, and then crash ! they were here. They exploded on striking the water or the ship with a terrific roar. After a bit I could tell from watching the shells fairly accurately whether they would fall short or over, or whether they would do us the honour of a visit. The shots that hit the water raised colossal splashes. Some of these columns of water were of a poisonous yellow-green tinge from the base to about half their height ; these would be lyddite shells. The columns stood up for quite five to ten seconds before they completely collapsed again. They were giant fountains, beside which the famous fountains of Versailles were mere children's toys. In a later stage of the battle, when the enemy had got our range better, it frequently occurred that these water- spouts broke over the ship, swamping everything, but at the same time putting out any fires." Georg von Hase, First Gunnery Officer of the Derfflinger video of uss new jersey's water splashes, although it is from the distance

Probably the most cheesy thing about whole WoWs is the overthetop death explosion animation. I remember it was the very first thing which made me cringe when i saw it and over the time i somewhat learned to live with it. But do we really need that? I understand its practical purpose: it is there to let know ever to the dumbest player that the ship is really dead "so stop shooting, hes dead! you know?" Still the animation looks really weird when ship is flooded or rammed to death. But even if ship is shot, torped, burned down or detonated the animation doesnt look right (we all know how magazine detonation should look like). I know it is nitpicking but I am one of those who believe that immersion is important. So i would welcome realistic animations like: flooded to death, rammed to death - ship just tilt or capsizes and slowly sank shot to death, burned down - tilt and sank on fire magazined so when hp is depleted, ship's info would just disappear and there can pop up some icon over the ship to let everybody know that it is going down...or even give the player option in menu to choose if he wants realistic death animations or the current explosion and make the explosion default so that the less observant players wouldnt have troubles.

someone just probably didnt want to hurt your feelings ;)

tiny immersion nitpick

ok. i believe you

i also dont know anything about programing but you have these ships in the game right from the start anyway so why should their wreck put additional strain on cpu? i'm not saying all of them should stay afloat. maybe some, or remain afloat longer...dunno. but the idea has its merit...but i also remember the times when death ships went instantly down like a rock, so there has been some progress, no doubt
-
i dont think so. would be definitely problem in game with multiple spawns but i doubt that it would somehow obstruct the gameplay in wows. tank wrecks in wot also dont disappear. i can imagine battleship wreck could make a good cover for some dd edit: although it is true that in wot you can push the wreck when it is blocking you...maybe this should be possible in wows as well

i had like one or two supercontainers since they were introduced...but since i dont play as much i usually dont get pass the first daily container. is the chance for supercontainer higher with second and third daily container? i must admit i have no idea how the whole supercontainer thing works
-
yeah. nevertheless the main problem with current explosion is that it doesnt look like anything which would normally happen
-
i know some ships indeed detonated usually after capsizing: barham, kongo, audacious, yamato...but some did not: yamashiro, fuso, bismarck, yorktown, prince of wales, repulse...(just few i can think of) i didnt say i dont want explosions at all. i was always saying that part of the current uselessnes of detonation mechanic is the fact that it lacks proper animation which would do that justice. yeah it would be nice if some capsized wreck would suddenly detonate...but i think it should not happen regularly because we would get quickly bored of it and i think this huge explosion should be card in a sleeve for detonation mechanic because there isnt much else what it can offer to the game
-
thats a good point. i didnt realize its orgasmic aspect...still i would prefer some more elegant solution

nice catch...it seems that the swastika was just covered and not overpainted. im not an expert on this issue however i saw lot of depictions on bismarck's last known appearance. check these sites https://www.bismarck-class.dk/bismarck/paint_schemes/paintbism1941rheinubung.html http://www.kbismarck.com/drawings.html http://i1368.photobucket.com/albums/ag199/maomatic/BB_Bismarck_1941_05_Part2_Multiple_Sides_zpsonho7l3v.png~original but it seems that standard procedure was to cover the swastika when ship moved out of the reach of luftwaffe and there was no danger of being attacked by friendly plane regarding the yellow tops of the turrets - there is no photo evidence for that but survivor claimed that already on the way crew received orders to paint the turret tops yellow and indeed water quickly washed that out. but i think there are some doubts about it so i dont know

the thing is that campaign says that the reward camo is how hood looked when she was sunk. and thats not true and btw the roundel is historical http://www.hmshood.com/hoodtoday/models/tips/hoodpaint.htm noone can blame them that there isnt swastika, although it wasnt there when bismarck went to the bottom. bismarck camo also isnt what they are saying in the description. but im able to live with it better than with what theyve done to the hood
-
my only objection against the campaign is hood skin/camo - ugly as hell and ,despite what wg is stating, NOT HISTORICAL, which was beside the bismarck the goal of this campaign - historical camos for bismarck and hood...so i cant say this event was a success while its concept is flawed and literally lying to people
