i was about to say "albany the worst? really?" and i just found out that i'm number 39 best driver of albany (based on PR) but i spent most of the time with her in those glorious days when she was able to be the top tier (T1+T2 matches) and because tier 1 can no longer meet tier 2, she is in pretty bad spot right now (as other tier 2)...i think though albany should be tier 1 and other 1890's 1900's un/protected cruisers should replace the current patrol boats on tier 1 and meet tier 2 again

i once made a thread about water splashes looking like from a bullet rather than from a warship shell, also death explosion always looked unnatural and cheesy. now they took good direction imho. i installed pts client for the very first time just to see those changes

i still dont get what will change for the dds. i only glanced at the chart of the spotting distances after the change will be implemented but i think there was pretty much like 1 km difference between what is current proximity spotting distance and what will be firing-in-smoke spotting distance.- 59 replies

i like the idea of different ranges for radar acquisition for different ship classes (maybe even ships). that make sense and its worth testing imho...but i dont get why you think there is a problem with the last smoke proposal. for rn cruisers it will be a bit of a nerf but still they will have like 5-6 km to be spotted and thats still enough for major number of cases and some dds wont be even affected by the change- 59 replies

where did you get that? i think there is a myth about that battleships were significantly larger than cruisers. while the fact is that they had only more tonnage while the dimensions were relatively close - at least lengthwise ofc...and destroyers were usually between 1/2 and 3/4 lenght of battleships also when we look at early battleships they were rather short and compact. only the very last generation grown significantly to get the high speed. when you take a look at iowa in the game she really looks that she dwarfs everything around her- 29 replies

im not an expert but isnt smoke from a volcano going up because its hot? what falls down would be the ash. not sure what that would do with ships...sorry but this kinda reminds me the magical waterfalls on estuary map which run from nowhere but if the goal is the low visibility, the cyclone already provides that. maybe isnt such spectacular but maybe some day it will be. i would rather have spectacular cyclone...

guys, i know that ships are 2 times bigger but that doesnt affect the scale of other things (at least visually). yes, islands are probably smaller than you would find irl, but everything on them can be in scale with the ships

well the poll said "do you want detonations to be removed?" and i said "no" because i believe that detonations belong into the game with warships...if the poll was "should be detonation mechanic reworked" i would say "yes" -
when i saw a video from some other youtuber which i will not name, i was kinda shocked how much damage kgv is able to do with HE

well the guns had stabilization irl but even if they dont i doubt that wg would make this matters, since they are always trying to make their games as comfy as possible. just look how easy is aiming - you just move the reticle to the place you want and click. you dont have to handle elevation, calculate distance, etc ,besides water splashes are super quick so that they wont obstruct the view too much even if that doesnt look "right"...its as comfy as possible but i am the kind of guy who would sacrifice some comfort if things could be more immersive and when we are talking about immersion. what i was never fond of is the stuff wg is placing on the maps. all those villages, even cities, fairy castles, etc. are way to cheesy for my taste. however the main problem is that these are not in the same scale as the ships so they look rather stupid if you ask me, like hobbit villages. i would rather have just few minor objects around but in scale: like lighthouse, weather station, lone fisherman's hut but not huge castle which looks out of place and is super cheesy. and it seems wg is adding more and more of these on the maps with every patch. it seems like every tiny island has its own small village right now. i appreciate their effort but in my opinion it is waste of time and resources sorry for the off topic

yeah. i thought about that and indeed i had two separate boxes in mind. but lately i realized that it would be challanging to place them there mainly because of the secondary turret which would block the placement of reserve torpedos which would have to be placed parallel to the hull (same way as on the zao for example) to prevent the existence of hole running through the whole ship (which is simply just result of placement of the torpedos and rearming mechanism perpendicular to the hull)...but maybe we can omit reserve torps another solution for the launchers would be to place them on the deck but slightly behind current position to prevent shock wave from the upper turret to somehow interfere

can you tell me where is the difference between premium and free player? one is paying for the game and one is not...that's all - completelly all and nothing more. so where is the point of having this? some kind of rich man's club or what? im playing this game since release, participate on the forum, certainly trying to play the best i can, but never spend a penny for a premium account - why? because i play so sparsely that it wouldnt be beneficial for me. if the time would be counted for the time you are logged in, that would be different story...the only way i fund the game is through premium ships and some consumables from time to time

British battleship heavy AA guns too weak?

keep aa for bbs low. this is power creep at its best and germans are the bad precedent. american bbs should be imho the only bbs with decent aa. i really dont get why german bbs received such strong aa. full aa spec gneisenau is pretty much invulnerable to air attacks -
i have small nitpick regarding the model: i know that zao has similar placement of the torpedo launchers but in fact im not convinced that it would be very effective irl...however kii has them even lower than zao so in major number of cases this section would be constantly under water on real sea. there is also so lot of stuff in that box which would be washed away- even reserve torps are there! i dobut that anyone would be able to rearm those tubes on the sea unless that section would have some closing doors...also can you imagine what would waves do to these launchers when they would stick out to fire the torps? so wouldnt this be more realistic placement for the launcher?

geeeez. dont even mention those stupid fireworks and red tracers. wg is adding more dumb and stupid features while omitting the ones that would do the same wow effect while being more fitting, realistic and 0% cheesy

the torpedo launchers placement doesnt look very realistic. i think this would work only on WoWs calm waters
