  1. I'll keep it short: I've played this game for over seven years. The botting has been there for years, but it's become a constant problem the last year or two especially. Both in randoms and rankeds. Nearly every game I can now spot a botting player on may team that is contributing jack crap to the battle, just sailing around, either sailing up and sitting in a cap zone or just sitting in the middle fo the map to soak up spotting damage. This is a bloody waste of my time and effort, it's not fun, its frustrating af. WG Support? Useless - standard response is "oh you gotta attach a game replay before we can blah blah". If I'm supposed to do that before you mfers with take action against cheaters, then I'll be spending 50% of my time in game and 50% making reports, nfw I'm going to spend my free time helping you fix a problem that you've caused by sitting with your hands in your lap, when you already have access to the servers and all client activity and would be able to discern fairly easily. START. DOING. SOMETHING. ABOUT. THE. PROBLEM. OR. LOSE. YOUR. CUSTOMERS.

Yet, quoting you: "(So do a lot of companies, and they don't even apologise, or address it. If people are going to buy something again and again and again why should the company stop practicing in a way which keeps working?)" You aren't doing anyone any favors by acting as if this incident, or rather string of incidents are nothing more than shrug-worthy. The entire point of the guy's post is EXACTLY that the "crap keeps working so who cares" is to be ended by means of user protest. If things "keep working" because of user complacency, then they will keep working even when people are being stepped upon. No, buying the "goods" themselves is not a justification for being shafted by WG or whomever else. WG is one of the most profitable "F2P" companies there is, and No, donning the "meh" attitude approach to holding WG responsible for their blunders is indeed outright inviting more of that. Much as the post you are replying to has the tone of screeching of nails down the blackboard and that you are right to challenge its various strands of contorted logic, you are not addressing this core issue. PS: Define 'screeching && entitled'.

Speaking of which, WG support on purchases is molasses slow atm. I have gifted two ships where the money has been debited from my account, I got the confirmation mails but the recipients have recieved nil. Response to the tickers I've opened after 48+ hours: Nil.

Once is a screwup, twice is carelessness, thrice is maliciousness. The response in this latest complication is fair, and I'm still willing to extend WG my time and cash (far less than in the past, granted) as a customer, however at this point I do have my eyes *peeled* for more screwups on WG's part. Relatively minor imbalances in various ships or lines are to be expected in a games that needs as complex a finetuning as WOWs etc. do, though the mass of problems in communications between WG and the testers that devote an inordinate amount of time to the game and the company, judging from the feedback provided in this thread and elsewhere, adds gravitas to the whole issue. When the third happens, I'll reach for my hammer. -n

    Phantoms and Witches

Two nights ago, I saw the Phantom Fortress.... too late. I was unaware of the event specials (apart from spooky harbor and smeared ships), and one of my battles was 12 vs 8... which has me puzzled to say the least - people has been complaining of the matchmaking algo fssking them over for ages, and this, I thought, was the ultimate sign of that being true. Later in the game, half their team gone... those remining, 1 was a CV that hadn't been wise enough to get out of the action... easy meat. I sped towards that in my New York, turned to make all my guns available to fire at target, and I ran aground. Du'h. While reversing out, still firing at it (hey, he has the 'ween camo too, looks very pretty on a CV... much prettier than on mine?!), there seemed to be a tricke of secondary fire coming at me. Which turned into a torrent that eradicated my BB in short order. A few seconds after my swift death, it dawned on me. I laughed for the rest of the match, seeing my team demolished by a CV that racked up badge after badge after badge of Close Q Exp... and Devast.... (One of my game buddies got pissed and said that this kind of **** would make him want to leave the game, I must tell him that it is part of an event... hehe) Irt. NA 5 vs. EU 2 hrs. , I believe this is to allow both testers driving the ships and players that wish to participate (or just happens to be gunned down by it.. ahem) a realistic shot at it ( ha ha ) in the spanning time zones. (US = 4, EU = 3... well yeah, that means EU ought to have 4 hours, doesn't it?).
  7. I disagree. While I don't have half the battles you have, I can say that I've played for two months straight, and I've spent more time that I should when I have both work and social life on the side. I came to Tier 7 after around 6 weeks or playing (and up to VII, it turned into grinding), after which the ladder up to VIII North Carolina was too much to bear, considering my win-loss ratio, and the repair costs. At the point that I've stacked up oodles of XP and credits - I think in a couple of months - then I'll consider shelling out for the NC, though I doubt it.
  8. Enteirely agree. I made the usual, childish mistake of storming towards the top of the BB line. Barely played New Mexico after I'd enjoyed myself on the New York... the Colorado was massively expensive to build and to repair after battles, and not just unsatisfying but outright bothersome to play. I sold it yesterday, gonna play with the Cleveland for a while and return to having *fun* in the tiers 4-5. North Carolina and upwards are sexy and all that, but it'll take just as much time and effort like WoW (the other WoW) endgame raiding, ie. a time sink. No thanks. (edit: typos and errors)

Quality of players took a dive with release

Vanhal has an interesting idead, there... keeping the mid-tiers active with players instead of having everyone sprint towards tX and sticking there. I've been on WoWs for about of month and haven't really noticed a drop in player skill. People are still generally non-cooperating, its an absolute minority that chat to coordinate, they leave CVs in exposed and undefended, so that we have to flee, which is often too late as DDs tend to be concealed until they are will within gunning range ; peopleres vannot hold a battle line, they run at fthe first sight of more than one enemy while me and my buddy are steaming ahead again what turns out to be 4 ships... etc. Still love the game, and I do hope that people will improve their coopeative skill as time goes by (and the casuals drop out).
