  1. Going Ok, just picked up Furious yesterday, no bought crates. First impressions for me are that it's pretty comfortable to use but overall I'm not really impressed by its performance.

    To be honest, there isn't really much room for variation, which is unfortunate. Though to be fair, this isn't a CV only issue. Modules: - Air groups mod 1 - Air engines mod 1 - AA guns mod 1(TB and DB mod 1 are useless I find. This is arguably true here as well. The choices are bad either way) - Dive bombers mod 2(Don't bother with rocket plane HP. TBs have a heal, and they're crap compared to the DBs, this is Midway's bread and butter) - Flight control Mod 1(Ignore concealment. This is useless on Midway planes, you can't get it low enough to be worth going this path, imo) - Flight control Mod 2(For the extra speed. It's useful in all situations, you can get around quicker, and the argument is that with higher speed, you spend less time in AA) Skills: 1st row: Air Supremacy, Engine boost.(I don't like Last gasp, I find it worthless) 2nd row: Torpedo acceleration, Improved engines. (Adrenaline rush... meh. I'd rather take torp accel. for a more comfortable experience, and to make hitting non-BBs easier) 3rd row: Survivability Expert, Aircraft Armour, Demolition Expert 4th row: Sight Stabilization This is what I use. As for HVARs vs Tiny Tims, honestly HVAR is good, but I use Timmy for the memes. Plus the damage and fires are much better when you can pull it off. HVAR has always had more utility though, especially vs DDs. After all, for dmg and fires you have DBs. So in all seriousness I'd take HVAR. All rockets have been nerfed vs DDs however. Use DBs vs them if you're USN. You'll do far more damage and it's much easier to hit.

    They ARE massive price reductions, but it's more than that. With the Texas reduction, WG cuts off 50 something % revenue, shaving off 15 Euros. (Based on the prices you provided) Wichita meanwhile, for 88.5% is shaving off 38.34 Euros. Huge difference. It will still be even if you used Texas current calculation. This is one of the reasons why it's very rare that WG puts such big discounts on higher tiers. You will never see discounts applied so liberally to a T8 compared to a T5. You cannot compare big discounts on Texas to big discounts on T8. With that in mind, you cannot claim Texas' currently reduced cost is precedent and comparable, therefore lending credence to the proposed sale of now unavailable prems, including T8s, at 5 bucks a piece, indefinitely. Come on man.

    Please explain how 50 something % discount on T5 Texas is equivalent to the proposed: 88.5% indefinite price reduction on the cost of a tier 8 cruiser Wichita to bring it to 5 Euros. Used Wichita pricing since Kutu isn't in the shop. In your opinion, this is perfectly fine, and won't have any negative effects at all?

    Not agreeing with the idea, but limited time more reasonable, but 5$ at current T8 pricing is way too low. You made no mention of limited time offer in your OP.

    Yeah 'offers'. Limited time only. Every shop in the world does that at some point. However, they don't keep it around such that it devalues the rest of their own stock, in case you did not notice. Unless he wants to clear it out of his store.

    Try explaining that to the people who will be at WGs throats, claiming it's unfair to them, who bought it way back when. Frankly I'd be sympathetic, they have a point. Market values change. This is normal. But they don't change by that much overnight, unless something truly disastrous happened to devalue said item. And this is exactly what is being proposed now, and it would not happen as a result of unforseen or external forces. This is completely within WGs control. Just my 2 cents, I don't agree that this is a good idea.

    Not to mention, you're massively undercutting every other premium ship at their respective tiers. Suddenly a tier 8 costs 5 bucks, while other tier 8s are more costly by several orders of magnitude. This is extremely bad for the shop, when other items of comparable value have the carpet pulled out from under them by that much. Also, people will start to wonder why Wichita is so much more expensive than Kutuzov, for example. And the reason will be... Kutuzov is OP?

    If a guy sells me a gem for $10Million, then I saw him sell the same gem, same cut for $1Million 2 years later no matter what the circumstances I'd feel a little ticked off. Now just imagine how that would go down with something even more valuable, like an 'OP' WOWS premium .

    Is Roma worth the buy?

    Roma is a conundrum. One on hand, sometimes she is frustrating to play, especially with the overpens and accuracy issues. One the other, her excellent concealment, amazeballs turret traverse and great armour should not be discounted. And, her guns are actually very potent when they don't troll you. They have the best dmg for a 15inch(granted not by much) and very high penetration. This combo of conceal, strong armour, rambo turrets and inaccurate guns means that she is best at mid and also close range whenever the situation allows. Plan your advances carefully. Know when to commit, when not to. Control your speed, keep your ship angled, and you can do well. However, given the nature of the guns, I wouldn't take her to competitive. P.S. She is also easy on the eyes

It's pretty much what I've been trying to do whenever possible - perpendicular to the attack, then turn in... but success has been mixed for me. @GarrusBrutus I haven't been braking at all, I've been trying at full speed. Thanks for that suggestion, I'll try it out! I loved Udaloi! Was a long time since, though. I passed it and got Grozovoi - Blyatiful boat. I really like Tashkent as well, however. I was pulling deep purple across the board with it, until I had too many games + too much Vodka ONE time. JUST ONE TIME. And wrecked it all
  14. All right Comrades, I'm in need of some tips. How has everyone been dealing with the capitalist rockets and HE bombs? As it stands, I feel my Tashkent is just taking too much damage from those imperialist pig-dog planes, despite my best attempts at manoeuvre and dodging. This line isn't stealthy and hiding or turning off AA only takes you so far. And, well, the air detect is relatively big. Rockets have less of a hard time getting on target. I know it's hard to tell without replays, but what am I doing wrong? Or, rather, what are you doing right? Once they've inevitably found you, how are you manoeuvring to mitigate this damage? No matter what I try I lose big chunks of HP. P.S. Don't even mention smoke - there is only one way to play Soviet Gunbote comrade!

    So many lines to recommend. But right now I'd say go for Republique, aka the ultimate baguette. This is my absolute favourite ship to play at the moment. Much strong, very fun.
  16. Hello all, As we're all aware, Mid and long range AA produces flak bursts/explosions which need to be avoided, in addition to dealing continuous damage over time to planes within the AA aura. Different ships are assigned a different number of bursts, depending. For instance, Musashi has no mid range AA, and it's long range AA creates a total of 4 bursts per salvo, base. So, my question is this: Destroying any AA mount reduces the continuous AA dps of the aura they operate in. Does it follow then, that destroying the mid-long AA mounts reduce the number of bursts that will occur as well? To use Musashi, does destroying all the long range mounts not only eliminate the long range continuous DPS, but also the ability to generate any bursts? I haven't really noticed if the bursts declined or not as AA was destroyed, and I can't seem to find an answer to this.

    I agree it's a bit much, though I'm not sure I agree with the analogy you used in closing. Personally, I'd rather have the damage on the torps to be decent, and have the aim while manoeuvring take the hit. Part of the skill behind this is predicting where the enemy is going to be before you commit to the attack, and timing it right. If I messed that part up, and I have to make big course corrections, it's only fair that my aim will take longer to settle down as compared to if I had done it right. At the same time, it shouldn't be too punitive, It should feel fair. At the same time, if it comes together and I pull off a good one, it should be sufficiently rewarding. Basically what's needed is balance, and as of yet this has not been achieved in CVs. Work in progress, I guess.

    What? Since when? The max number of fires on DD is the same as any other ship, i.e. 4, with a max of 30 secs, like a standard cruiser.
