You came to believe that you were, over time, getting less citadels than before and that there must be a reason for it. Fine and well. You had suspicions and the one you settled on was that there might be some noob protecting occurring. You checked their stats in those cases and confirmed your theory that such ''protected'' players were indeed usually noobs, since they fall within the appropriate stat category. It's worth noting however that this is also the category within which, unless I'm mistaken, a majority of or at least a very significant number of WoWs players fall. So, are you getting less citadels than before? Sure, maybe. Is it because one group got handicapped and/or another got stealth buffed overnight? No. Confirmation bias is more likely. Expectations in outcomes, especially which are not entirely in one's control lead to frequent disappointment. Your direct control extends to aiming and lowering maximum dispersion ellipses. These don't guarantee cits even under perfect conditions. Expect nothing and reap the rewards as and when.

The secondary range is on par with the Germans but that's it. On the whole they lack much of the advantages of other secondary oriented lines. I used to build my Republique for max secondary range + LM, with the sole purpose being to proc CQC as often as possible which, along with other modifiers, gave me the maximum reload possible as often as possible. The results were good but it's a haha meme build and very niche for randoms only, I would not recommend it as a matter of course.

Sounds like you have collision avoidance system on. Are you also using autopilot to move around by any chance?

I can see how Schlieffen would be strong in ranked(and it's not the only one), but you don't balance a ship around ranked performance. The situations described in this thread, especially the OP, is just a non-issue with some skill and foresight on your part/your team. Simple as that. It's too soon to ask for additional nerfs to the ship, and frankly I don't think it needs them.

Not going to unpack the whole post, but tbh I don't find the Super CVs to be that ''super'', at least when it comes to United States. Haven't played Eagle yet. From my perspective if you are in a surface ship there are other, far older CVs that are more potentially dangerous to you. That's my impression for now.

I agree. Since the old days I used to run a hybrid build. For the last slot, if we consider the likes of GK, legendary mod is simply a no brainer. With Preussen though I'm using sec mod instead of MB reload. Reload is great, but I get so much mileage out of secondaries elsewhere, so I chose to forgo it from the get go on Preussen, especially since the stock MB reload is already great. Still a small sample but so far after 17 solo games, I have 82.4% W/R, 1.82K/G and a bit over 130K avg. dmg. To me though, in the end, it doesn't really matter as long as I'm enjoying it and am effective with it. Nice build btw, it's a solid setup. Very close to the one I use.

That is subjective. In addition to durability better secondary performance over peers is a main feature of the line, should you choose to make use of it. Those disappointed get disappointed because they either build the ship incorrectly, fail to utilize the ship well, or both. And so it doesn't yield the result they expect.

Not at all. The BC line offers a glimpse of such. Unless you think Preussen would be fine with the secondary acc/rof parameters of Schlieffen? What about the same on FDG? Bismarck?
