70%+ Means you're the commander of a legendary Warship. 55%+ Means you're part of the ship's command staff. Commissioned officers, station chiefs, etc. 48% to 55% Means you're working the ship to fight. Manning weapons systems, working in fire control, radar, comms, engines and engineering, etc. Less than 48% means you're only allowed to peel potatoes and unclog the toilets. You know, this is just crazy enough to work!

These are the chosen ones, sworn to defend earth when a desperate humanity on the brink of destruction brings back the legendary warships of history to grind the alien scum into cosmic dust.

She is more manoeuvrable than most people give her credit for though. Her turning circle radius is excellent and her rate of turn is also not bad at all. Or, it seems that way to me. I don't have all the numbers for this metric. Then again, I use Rudder shift on Yama. Actually, I use it on all my BBs Using damage control mod as I think most people do - you won't feel the nimbleness as much.
-
Always has been, and always will be a very strong BB, and one of the most solid, go-to picks for competitive play.
-
You're like a CV armed with Truth bombs - falling left and right like that my DD can't dodge all of those FFS!

Ha! Too right. Daring, Somers, Daring, Somers, Shima, Somers, Daring, Daring, Daring that's been our experience. We are usually using Daring, depending on the player it might be Somers but Daring is preferred right now.
-
Amen to that. Can you imagine the nightmares? As far as competitive goes, let me weigh in by saying that yes, we also use Kremlin right now, because it works very well with the current meta and our strats for this season. I play the Kremlin here. That being said, I've seen other currently-Typhoon teams running GK or Bourg. Otherwise, I've seen some Yamas... never Montana though . Only saw it once so far. But yeah. CB and KOTS is a world apart from randoms. Kremlin IS very strong, and very useful here, for now - but that doesn't necessarily affect the argument on whether Kremlin is OP or otherwise. Who knows what subsequent seasons will bring? The situation can change and Kremlin as a choice might not be so clear cut anymore as other options get a chance to shine again.
-
Petey and I are roughly on the same page. My view in simple terms - OP? No. Very strong? Yes. Too Strong? Possibly. And yes, I own a Kremlin. Agreed.

Way too strong. To start, what would even be the point of Republique if this is in the game?

cv vs dd balance - is this being looked at at all?

For slot 4, I take Bombers mod. 2 for extra bomber HP. Torp. bomber mod. 2 is kinda not needed I think, since they come with heal to help with survivability(exception being low tier CVs, I think?) The bombers get more use out of it imo. The other option is boosting Rocket plane HP... meh. No. Slot 3 has no useful mods really, as of this writing. Depending on the CV, I usually take AA guns mod or Secondary Battery mod for something like Graf Zeppelin. Either way, you get more fireworks

cv vs dd balance - is this being looked at at all?
Miragetank90 replied to loppantorkel's topic in General Discussion
I won't debate every point, but I'm thinking giving CVs an option to debuff people is possibly going to make the REEE even stronger than it is now. You could also argue that it doesn't help the issue of CV vs DD balance - that is crux of this discussion. Does dealing less damage(but debuffing) with the 20mm shift the balance in the DDs favour compared to just dealing flat damage with rockets? I think this is open to speculation. I can guarantee, however, a lot of people would be really, really miffed at the idea of getting debuffed and would flat out prefer to take damage. Not to mention, with rockets, there is at least a chance to dodge or mitigate the damage through different means. Given the velocity of 20mm rounds as opposed to your typical rocket, well... Finally, while I can appreciate WHY you would use them, I don't think this would fit in the end given the way the game is designed. The simple fact is, the game is designed around scoring damage on ships and destroying them. The match rewards greatly emphasise damage, as does stat tracking. Unless these things change, there will not be any reason to use the proposed 20mm at all when CVs have dedicated damage dealers. Indeed, the way the game is discourages its use at all. Though, if the use of 20mm cannon would indeed be iffy, perhaps the CV/DD balance is improved, by virtue of the fact that CVs don't have an efficient anti-DD weapon any longer, just a debuffer? But then we're brought back to the previous bit of speculation. Does this really help the DDs? In the end, this is just my opinion. Nothing more. -
cv vs dd balance - is this being looked at at all?
Miragetank90 replied to loppantorkel's topic in General Discussion
See the rockets? And, though strafing with 20mm cannon and also machineguns was carried out extensively, however you grossly overestimate the value this has in doing damage to all but the most thinly skinned ships(Even DDs have armour, did you know that?) The real purpose of smaller calibre weapons strafing is to impact the ships combat capability by killing crewmen, staff, and destroying valuable equipment necessary for optimal function of the ship as a combat unit, ie, radar sets, rangefinding equipment, AA mounts etc. Still, this is mostly superficial damage at best and not modelled within the confines of this game. Please. -

20mm cannon is not going to sink ships. If that's the proposed solution, you may as well have said ''keep only DBs and TBs, remove the third option'' -

There are one or two tracks which give me a STAR WARS: Empire at War vibe as well

I wonder about this spotter plane design
Miragetank90 replied to Atorpad's topic in General Discussion
How it lands aside, the weird and somewhat triggering thing about catapult fighters for me is that since rework they summon several planes at once from the same catapult. The issue is not that several planes are summoned, it's that the animation could have been done better. e.g. Have the visuals show the launching of one plane from the catapult. Then have the rest come down from the sky to meet it, a la CV fighter consumable. The result: exact same effect, smoother animation, less ''wtf'' -

Sov.Soyuz and the average to bad player story.

Correcting you here, since this bit is no longer within the realm of opinion. The facts are thus: -
Since I have them all already, I'm hoping I can at least have the option to get Maya, Musashi and Yamato.

Official WG guide seems ever so slightly off

After all this time, this is STILL not updated? That's a little sad.
