Wargaming really just doesn't get it.
Miragetank90 replied to The_Angry_Admiral's topic in General Discussion
Uh-huh, and I'll tell you why - because the 10s you like to play are no longer guaranteed to be top or equal tier in any given match. The same experience now comes at a new tier with much higher cost. I suppose I stand corrected. Your ships have been invalidated. -

So same question floating around since day 1 of the game, but with a new tier added on top. -

DM will also give you access to a lower tier, 8. Annapolis is a beefed up DM(not exactly but rolling with that for simplicities sake). And? DM doesn't become worse all of a sudden in the way that having Krem in the game doesn't weaken the power of Soyuz. What you're saying about invalidation is only relevant to comp. Some ships might see less play in favour of their supers depending on the rules of the season and ship in question. Not necessarily of course. We'll have to wait and see. -

Why play Bismarck when you have Preussen? Why play Kagero when you have Shima? Why play Soyuz when you have Kremlin? Same energy. You would of course, if you still want to. A newer higher-tier ship doesn't invalidate previous ones. -
I get what you mean to say. War sucks. Nothing more to be said.

In war there are no good casualties.

I assume this is the MM of the future and just the way WG wanted it to be *sigh*

Aside from sub HP and listed damage per depth charge there's also target distance from the blasts and saturation(IIRC) to consider. So more fun fingering the G. -
I mean, they're all from the same squadron on the return. Except for that lone one attacking Preussen.

He can do what he likes, play at whatever tier he likes, in any ship he likes. Some of you forget this is a F2P MMO, not your personal playground. And addressing you now @tigermarnickfelh I realise you like Hannover, but this is the latest ''endgame'' content. Giving it out just because you tested them defeats the purpose. No free endgame ships. We all have to earn them. Good news is, if you like Hannover you'll like the German BB line, and you'll have it in no time. -
I spent enough time training up commanders for many ships over the years to keep them competitive, and again with Commander rework. When I took a break back in Feb, I still had many lower priority ones left to do. So stuff like this is plain tiresome. The option to freely switch captains should have stayed at least. Just more grinding to get competitive captains to put into credit sinks. And I'm not about to drop a massive amount of Euros or free time to fix it. TL:DR, thanks, I hate it.

I'd stick with Kremlin. Emergency reserve needs no elaboration, if you proc it you'll get an extra charge to the ships' limited consumables. Will to victory is more interesting, obviously both benefit nicely but Kremlin has vast HP and armour and so, you're more likely to end up at the 10% mark to proc more often then Petro, if you play the ship well enough. But that's just my opinion. Consumables expert buff is not relevant, you wouldn't bother with that anyway.
-
You can't gauge cowardice or bravery from pixel boats. A Kremlin goes to the backline from game-start and sails in circles there till the end is just incompetent. Or a bot. Or, mayhaps, an incompetent bot. And a Smolensk shooting from in smoke is using the tool he's been given. Just like a Kurfurst uses it's tankiness and secondaries. They both get their damage... in different ways. In an ideal world, anyway. Maybe Smolensk somehow eats a bunch of torps in smoke and Kurfurst detonates after 2 salvos.

thx Wargaming, great improvement.

Seems that Wargaming staff have stopped commenting on submarine threads.

Ship-to-sub interaction right now is like playing whack-a-mole but the moles have rabies, ruin your mood, and no matter how many times you smash them they just won't die. Oh yeah, and some ships can't whack the moles properly. They're playing the game without a hammer. I imagine it's real fun for the whole family. -
Someone calling any guy coward in game for whatever action or reason is just that someone's cope for the situation.
-
No, it does 10% of the listed damage. Eg. An AP shell from Yamato is listed as doing 14,800 damage. A citadel penetration will yield 14,800. A ''normal'' penetration will yield 33% of that - 4,884. An overpenetration will yield 10% - 1,480. You can check the WoWs wiki for more details on this and more.

With astronomical cost of living, lah. Nice to see a Singaporean. Too long since I've been.

What I meant vis-a-vis personnel changes is that many across departments will be sacked because of the circumstances. WG has already talked about severance pay for those in Russia and Belarus. But from the company perspective, nothing changes - not really. They bring in new people and work continues as before from a new location. No one is irreplaceable. What I'm interested in is how smoothly the company handles possibly the biggest transition in it's history, and if + how their products will be affected. I.e. Will the affect be visible to the ordinary player in some way? If not, or only minor, then they've done a commendable job in handling the situation.
-
There will be some personnel changes, sure. And unless they drop the ball on quality control you'll never know the difference. An actively-developed MMO cannot function without either of these things. They are not going anywhere.
-
They will lose out on a portion of revenue and incur a big cost in the immediate term, but the future of the company to grow elsewhere on the international front is secured.
-
Interesting times for the company. People saying it's about money... yeah sure... but it's more than that. It's about survival of the company not as an entity, but rather as you all know it internationally in a climate which is uncertain for business economically and politically - and will remain so for a long time. Lose some money now. Ensure we're still around and we keep growing. And thriving.

The mysteries of balance: Minn, Kear, Hizen
Miragetank90 replied to SodaBubbles's topic in General Discussion
I actually really liked Minnesota. Before the Vermont armour was buffed it was the better protected of the two while also being smaller and more manoeuvrable. -
It's good entertainment, I'll give it that.
