    New-ish guy in town

You should just play whatever interests you the most, or pick a line you think suits you and go from there. There are some ships around that can be considered too good, especially in good hands. Like Thunderer, perhaps. But there aren't really any ''OP lines''

What makes you consider quitting WoWs?

    Teams. Random teams.

    Bump!
  4. Disrespecting the Mino... them's fighting words. But seriously, @steveraptor, you should listen to them. They are 100% correct, and they have the experience to back it up. And on the subject of Mino in KOTS, it is far from useless. Our best performance(3rd place) came with us using Mino as cornerstone in our strat. And that was during a reworked carrier season, KOTS 8.

    battleship underwater torpedo launchers

None, I think. A combination of game balance and being too unwieldy to use. These were all fixed launchers. Most of them were removed during pre-WWII modernisation anyway, WWII-early 50s period being the main era of focus in WoWs.

CV games with Halland are unfun

I think this supposition is incorrect, especially considering the amount of HP you can strip with just one good Midway torp or DB drop, and of course Haku AP drop. Having more Hallands or not is not going to be the deciding factor in CV games, because Hallands are not going to be your only target during a match. There are plenty of ships on both teams doing different things, and It's a mistake to think that the best thing a CV can be doing at any one time is to focus the DDs or lose. It isn't. Further, a decent CV isn't really troubled when striking a Halland, even a well played Halland. Especially if he is running about alone. I don't really see how the game is greatly influenced by one side having more Hallands. If anything, their lack of smoke can make things a bit easier.

New alternate names for Potato. (Bit of Fun)

I like the word 'Potato' though. But I might be biased. There's nothing like eating potatoes, y'know? Mashed to perfection... yes... not too wet, not too lumpy, just the right amount of milk and salt, some garlic butter in the mix... be generous with it... and assorted herbs of your choosing, served with gravy and a rosemary-encrusted steak or chicken and roast garlic... boiled cabbage, soft carrot with butter and oregano, or, if you prefer, Brussels sprouts.... Sorry, you were saying?

    Smolensk

It's gone, and it should stay gone forever. This ship is not overpowered. But given the way it was as it left the design floor, introducing it was a crap decision. So they pulled the plug and removed it. AFAIK in record-time for an Armoury ship.

    Poll about CB season 9

I'm enjoying it, but less than previous seasons, and only a few in XTREM enjoy it. I think because most of my clanmates don't enjoy it, it makes it less fun overall. That being said, it has its fun moments for us. And yes, I'm the one of the Haku players.

Another cost of test ship secrecy

idk how many times this is going to have to be repeated for people to understand. Everything you just said is wrong. The info will still be there on the devblog. CCs will still be able to test the ships, but can only show them to players closer to the release date of said ship. They can still show them to players. You will still have access to detailed info, if you care enough to want it. If you don't this doesn't affect you. In any case, you will not be buying blindfolded unless you make it that way. What is so hard to comprehend about this?

    ST, changes to test ships

When I squared off against it in Alabama last week, I noticed Champagne dispersion was extremely consistent, and very, very tight. Most of the fight took place from around what you'd consider mid range for Alabama. It was just one game, though.
  12. Yes. I think you're pretty much on point here. Spotting is what needs to change, I think. At least they recognise that, according to the QnA. Not sure what they are testing or what changes they will or could make though.
  13. Miragetank90

Another cost of test ship secrecy

No, I call it fact? People were crying that CCs were being censored. It's a thing that happened. They were upset.
  14. Miragetank90

Another cost of test ship secrecy

Yes, but they are not getting shut down. The main difference is that embargo is being moved forward so it is lifted days in advance of first sale rather than months, or w/e. After it's lifted, they can still bash the ship or praise it if they want, except now they will be doing it to(ostensibly) a finished product. So nothing is being hidden really. If you want to follow the development process of a test ship, you can still do it from the devblog. Either way, it's not necessarily the final release version, you'll still get that in the end from CCs if you like to watch them.
  15. Miragetank90

Another cost of test ship secrecy

Unless I'm mistaken you still will be able to even in future. I think it's mostly the CCs who are affected, in the sense that they can't make videos and thus give opinions on a ship until it's finalised, so people were crying censorship. Not sure if you saw this, so I'll post it. This is from the Discord QnA: Again IIRC, it was supposed to come into effect for ships after the German CVs or something. But don't quote me on that.

Another cost of test ship secrecy

Zarya Svobody is not a secret. It was announced right here on the forums and Reddit, it's a test bed for a tweaked Sovetsky Soyuz. The armour is exactly the same. IIRC it was the guns that were tweaked. And the info is not under NDA. You can keep up with the changes on the devblog. It has already been changed at least once. https://forum.worldofwarships.eu/topic/132921-st-changes-to-test-ships/?tab=comments#comment-3413496
  17. @Yoshanai The problem is you opened with this line immediately following the thread title and picture: Which could imply that you think the idea that they changed their names as a protest is pitiful. So it's natural people got confused(and mad, I guess) The rest of your opening post is also not clear on the subjects, especially if they misinterpreted the subject of your first line. Which lead to all this. I feel like I'm doing this kind of thing a lot lately.

A serious question about Kremlins guns

They are, in a word: Inconsistent. Assuming your aim is on target though, at close range they still wreck face more often than not. Though this is pretty much every BB.
  19. Yes and no. On EU the mindset is different, it's a bit more campy. On RU however, teams are pushing and being a lot more aggressive, even in the highest leagues. At the end of the day, though, it boils down to the fact that centring your strat around a big push is kind of risky. It's not that it can't work, of course, but it's harder. Especially VS. a competent team, which is why towards the end of KOTS you tend to have more campy, less-risk plays, rather than in qualis where pretty much everyone from Hurricane to unrated is in the mix.
  20. Yoshino and Smolensk is all well and good, but using them means you give up map control - Stalins doing their thing, CV probably spotting you, you have to give ground. Not always of course, but they don't have the staying power. Both are also sub-par for pushing, and not as good at capitalising on crossfires or blapping. If you have them, you're basically stuck using them trying to HE the Stalins while Kiting away, because if you're stuck nose in with them you're usually screwed. So to counter Stalin and Venezia, you take Venezia instead. For this meta, it's better. Compared to Yoshino and Smolensk, you can move around a bit more freely as well and it's less easy to punish.

AA and Secondaries made of paper

It depends on the ship, but you should try Kremlin if you haven't already. THAT is a true case of small modules made of paper. You pretty much lose them all after a handful of HE salvos from most cruisers, and If BB HE gets one nice hit, it's almost all gone in an instant. Even DDs easily wreck Kremlin AA/Sec mounts. So while it has a strong AA suite on paper, it doesn't show in practice. Especially mid-late game, where having decent AA or not becomes more important. The likes of Montana and Yama on the other hand are much more durable in comparison.

    General CV related discussions.

@Sunleader Punctuation, capitalisation and paragraphing aside, a wall of text is still a wall of text. Concision is useful in an argument. If you can make your points and explain them in a more decisive and organised manner, you are more likely to get your point across and to a greater number of people, even persuading them. Your point is also made much clearer. This is especially true for an internet forum of mixed language speakers, and is not limited to English. Don't take that as some kind of reprimand. Just general advice that goes beyond this bickering hellho... I mean, this feelgood utopia of happiness, pacifism and ideological exchange. Ha. Ha. Ha. So yeah anyways... CVs and... stuff. Get. Me. Out. Of. Here.

Best tier 8 dispertion in Battleships

IIRC, it's North Carolina. Between her and Bismarck, the improved accuracy is immediately noticeable.

    General CV related discussions.

Well... I think it depends. Edited to factor in islands. They can be abused to reduce losses as well.
