I change my approach to DDs when CVs are around, depending on the CV and depending on the DD in question. I watch the minimap to see where the CV is and what he is doing. Depending on what's happening and the enemy lineup, I might not go right into the caps right away, as so many try to do and just die. I'm conservative with my smokes, if the DD has them, to enable me to stay alive, and I don't go running too far off on my own where I can't get any help or I am an easier target(Unless I'm say, Friesland with Shokaku in play, then I have more leeway. Again, it depends). And of course, I manage my AA, and try to manoeuvre my DD so as to reduce damage taken as much as possible. On the whole, being cautious pays, especially because of the spotting the CV can get on you, but I don't find myself completely locked down or out of options when they're in play. It sounds funny but you can read the CV player and based on that I can still move and still take risks that pay off and do the things I need to do to contribute to the win. I find myself rarely dying to/because of the CV and I'm usually still in play 'till the end of the game. Again, just relating what I think about it based on my experiences.

It's funny, but since CV rework my DD play has actually been better than ever, and I've improved quickly in what was my worst class. IIRC Every 21 day session DD stats only(solo) since then ends with super unicum PR and W/R or close to that. Just sharing my experience in the class post rework. I'm still the meme-worst-DD-player in XTREM

Personally I found it to be interesting and different at first, but it turned into a stale and also stressful season for me. I'm just glad it's almost over, and after a break hopefully we can get back to playing some more regular-style CBs for a while without CVs.

No, but I was thinking of doing the event for free. Maybe I still will, we'll see. But to be honest I was never that interested in the big prize even before the nerfs. If she was historical or interesting in some way, perhaps I would feel different and be more enthused to get it. Right now, to me Odin is just a nerfed ship with a cool-sounding name. I have Tirpitz, Bismarck, and Scharnhorst. Why would I want Odin? I'll reserve judgement on how strong or weak the ship will be on release, since I haven't followed it, I haven't played it, and I haven't seen it in game. But the nerfs are puzzling and the cynic in me finds this argument that they don't want to release a powercreeping ship hilarious. Maybe WG are turning over a new leaf here? X to doubt.

You can carried by your teammates. You know, the other guys on your side when you play a match. You don't have to be in a div to be carried. You realise this, right? Even if you aren't getting carried all the time(no one is always getting carried every time they win) your play is average, your skills are average, even if you are making enough decent choices during games which lead to wins in the green. You might be playing to win as you say you are, but the fact of the matter is on average your personal contribution to those wins in terms of damage and kills is questionable. You could be contributing in another way though, perhaps capping, or perhaps merely being present as a potential threat or blocker. Unfortunately(I guess), that's all you are really doing, because you are not having enough of a direct impact vs. the enemy ships, which shows up in your lack of dmg and kills, which leads to your PR. You were improving in both though. See how your PR was rising and you were winning more? Were you farming, or was your level of play just better? I just play the game for fun and to win, and I seem to do alright in both PR and W/R. If the winning part is all that you think is important over personal skill, that's fine, and your right, of course. Maybe you are satisfied with yellow. But if OP wants to improve PR, ie. the direct impact he is having on his games, he has to work on those 2 things I mentioned previously. And if his W/R spiked into blue in recents while his level of play remained the same, ie, orange, then he is likely being carried. So it's not Horseshit. But if it helps you feel better about it, sure. Let's call it that. Mmmkay?
