Iowa is very strong nowadays. The heal alone makes it better than Missouri except in choice situations.

You know this kind of steamrolling is not uncommon in any game with a PvP mode right? You can have respawns or whatever, power-ups etc, It's nothing to do with mechanics/design of WoWs that one team just plain sucks and gets beat hard. Happens everywhere in every game and with regularity.

Steel grinding. A way out of ranked?
Miragetank90 replied to AlphaBaboon's topic in General Discussion
There are only 2 consistent ways to grind Steel as of this writing. Ranked and Clan Batlles. Steel from everywhere else(some were mentioned above) only comes in very small doses, with the exception of the PEF buyable-campaign that happened a long time back that rewarded between 1000-2000(?) steel total. If you bought Odin early on, you could finish the dockyard missions to get a decent amount as well. But the frequency of getting events like that to grind steel is irregular at best, and usually comes with a real life money cost. Relying on those will not net you any large amount of steel in a hurry and getting anything from these alone will take a long [edited]time. The absolute best way to get Steel that I can recommend to you is Clan Battles. -
The real question is What happens upon destruction? Do the little Optimuses and Megatrons abandon ship?

I was just about to ask. Maybe later. Starscream as a CV would be cool

I love it. -
Venezia is an ultra-flexible, super gimmicky ship which had way too many little and big things going for it without any significant trade off. All it lacks is hydro... I guess? Hardly a big issue. These nerfs were needed. Ultimately, she needed to be toned down sooner or later and they targeted the right things - SAP firepower and manoeuvrability. She remains a strong ship regardless.

Are the similarities between the Admiral Hipper class and Bismarck class intentional?
Miragetank90 replied to ItsJustAFleshWound's topic in Age of Armour Warships
Didn't Eugen and Bismarck also initially have near identical camo schemes as well with the intent to possibly confuse solid identification by enemy forces?- 24 replies

It has been a bit slow recently but between the endless arguing on a loop and the random new guy popping in to drop a rage-induced contribution, this thread is still good for laughs on occasion.

Weser, the killer ( and no, sight stabilisation is NOT needed )
Miragetank90 replied to Beastofwar's topic in Aircraft Carriers
I don't have a Weser yet but you don't need Sight Stab. on all CVs anyway. The Brit CVs especially come to mind. And the tier 6 CBs are happening right now. -
Oh, a gacha game? I thought it was a reference to Kallen and that casino scene from Code Geass way back when. I mean, you could argue the same of Scharn. The guns of Odin are not bad and not the worst, just different. I mean yeah, it doesn't overmatch 25mm. For me that's the only meh thing about it. If there is a stubbornly angled target I can't reliably damage, especially at range, I just shoot something more opportune - or, if I absolutely have to shoot that guy, I just use HE, I've found it just fine.

As I read this, I think a lot of the gripes here stem more from one's approach to the ship and consequently, in battle decision-making rather than being directly as a result of the ship being so terribly bad or under-strength. Touching on the guns, they are not the best-in-tier of course, but they are also not trash. Not by a long shot. Neither are the secondaries for that matter. Just my experience anyway. I get good mileage out of both. As a curious aside, I have a 42% hitrate on the main battery at the moment... hue In Odin I find all the tools I need to get results and frankly have a blast. Though to be completely honest with you, I initially fell into the trap of discounting her, based a lot on others' opinions and how she looked at face-value. A few games very quickly changed my mind. I will grant that she isn't the easiest to play for most all things considered, but that's it. She's a good ship. Sharing my build for anyone interested. Just my Bismarck captain. Expert Loader would be nice on Odin though. Unrelated, but I liked your old nick... Code Geass throwback T_T

Having more or less HP is important, but the way she needs to be played is also important consideration, that's why I maintain that she doesn't necessarily have to have her HP matched to the competition in order to be a good ship. She emphasises a deliberate style of play that revolves around movement, good target selection, and knowing when to minimise the damage you take, and when to commit your ship to the fight. Well, that's ships in general, really. It's just that Odin has less HP to absorb damage with, relatively speaking - and that's not a bad thing if the rest of the package just works... and it does. As long as you don't play her like those static bow-in Vladis do, of course.

11.6 is her max. In addition, while she has less of them, they all pen the 32mm threshold.
