They excel if you know how to use them in the right situation, and if you mess up you are in big trouble. So what is the problem exactly?

If you stop to smell all the flowers, you'll never reach the orchard. If you never reach the orchard, you'll never make the pie.

WoWS Raw Yamato Gameplay (WGNA approved)

Old islands of ice was amazing. I hate that they changed it. Same deal with the old shards. -
There's no reason to keep the stock planes. One thing I do remember from testing was that the stock bombers have a smaller ellipse than the upgraded Wyverns, but the Wyverns drop more bombs and the longer ellipse works in your favour when dropping targets, especially BBs. So, the Wyverns not only will hit harder and are easier to stack multiple fires with, but are faster and tougher. The LU is often overlooked but it's actually worth it imo and fun. The LU is geared to a playstyle of getting as close to the action as possible and making the platform more comfortable to do so. You get absurd engine power and rudder for a CV, you will take off like a rocket and turn like a big cruiser, in addition to bringing the concealment of the hull down nicely. On top of that, you get a beefy increase to the length of time your planes can boost, so you can W your planes for longer and so keep up a higher speed to target for longer. With LU Audacious you can increase your sortie rate on a flank. If you'd rather not get it, go for the squadrons speed mod instead. Skills are pretty standard. Boost plane durability, buff torps and bombs as appropriate. I tested a different build combining the LU with concealment mod and the pre ''buff'' hidden menace... basically full concealment. It was a meme - you get your concealment down to 9.3km surface and 5.8km air detect. Incredible on paper but sadly it didn't pay off to go full conceal with the old Hidden Menace as you just bleed planes thanks to them climbing so slowly after a drop. It really blew and it wasn't worth it. Nowadays... I don't know. It left such a bad taste in my mouth that I'm not really interested to drop some doubs just to try again. The skill is, let's say, highly questionable at best. It's a shame, really. Just some of my insights.

I haven't played much lately but I'm still hyped for Repulse. It and Preussen are the two ships I'm really looking to get right now. Soon.tm

As long as it's fun to use and interesting, and not completely bonkers then I don't really mind either way.

With Yorktown and Hornet on the way I'm hoping Essex return is not far behind. Say... tier 10 of the second branch?

I think critiquing a dev is good. I enjoy satire. As for this though, that's a big yikes from me. -
It won't work like that, going by the released info they come after the 10s in their branches and are part of the progression. Meaning, they are just the same as going from Iowa to Montana, only with different cost requirements. So you would not be able to obtain USS United States with one Erie game, for example - you would have to play a Midway game. Still, you would get your potatoes of course, like any ship or tier in the game really.

There is no secondary shell in the game that can do anywhere close to 11k damage on a hit excluding triggering a detonation, so something else happened there.

They will be extensions of tech tree lines and will be available to research for 1 XP and buying them will cost around 1.5 - 2.5 X the cost of your average tier 10. The cost of running them will be around 2x the cost of the average tier 10, this is the preliminary ballpark value. It might have changed internally but this is the latest relevant info that has been released as of October last year. Link: https://blog.worldofwarships.com/blog/227 IIRC when they arrive they will be available in all modes except CB, initially.

Myself, I'm really in love with the new graphics of the Philippine port, it looks amazing. -
Can RNG stop your ship from getting out of the way?
Miragetank90 replied to The_Angry_Admiral's topic in General Discussion
No it doesn't. I never saw such a thing in 25k battles. Seems to me you may be fat-fingering the keyboard perhaps, or making a stop without realising. -

Uh-huh.... A ship doesn't change speed or heading unless you input the command or your engine gets damaged. You might have the collision avoidance system enabled. -
Seems like this could encourage lemming trains, increase the chances and speeds of one-sided stomps, and be somewhat claustrophobic when you need to manoeuvre your ship around if there are always people hovering near you.

What kind of ship Preussen is/will be?
Miragetank90 replied to Harvin87's topic in General Discussion
Aside from the guns which is the main difference, IIRC it also comes with much better firing angles than GK. That is a huge win. -
I tried them a long time ago because I was essentially forced by noisy friends - and found out that I have zero desire or interest in social networking - Facebook, Instagram, etc except in a professional capacity. I have whatsapp group chats for family, alumni, and am active really only on XTREM discord. That's it. It's not so weird. It's quite nice, actually. Nice and quiet.

In short - As amazing as it has always been. It depends. For close combat especially, you need to mind your weakspots. Your turrets also traverse slowly compared to everything else. Yamato is great at long range but you don't want to be shooting from there all game. You need to be more involved to have real impact and get the most out of it.
