I am frustrated by my torpedo play (at Tier III -Romulus- and Tier VI). It seems that most of my hits, and those are few, are a result of luck. Close range, long range, it doesn't matter. My target either out runs or threads the spread. I use the games white marker but I swear it isn't accurate. Any suggestions? Any good replays of good torpedo play?

I suspect that, like me, you have found Tier VI CVs to be frustrating. We face Tier VIII AAA cruisers, players who have learned that proximity to one another provides good defense against air attacks, and enemy fighters. I played an entire game losing all of my bomber and torp groups to enemy AAA and fighters. I ended the match with 3 rocket hits that I managed on a lone cruiser. I was reported for "inactivitiy."

Tell me. I was just playing a Tier VI Ryujo in a game dominated by Tier VIII AAA cruisers. I couldn't survive long enough to launch a single torp. I did manage one rocket attack. At the end of the match someone reports me for "inactivity." To top it all off, I had added a bunch of flags and camo to try to up my numbers so I could add some survivability to my planes.

I'm playing and replaying the Tier VI Cachalot on the Test Server. My torp hit ratio is about 1/10. This is despite calm aiming and using the white lead envelope. I notice that I miss even when it appears that the target is NOT taking evasive action. Oddly, I miss more often at close range. So it looks like the lead envelope is broken. I don't know if I am homing or not. The button is there and the target lights up when I press "1". Same thing when I press "1" a second time. Am I missing something? I'm curious because there is a lot of complaining about homing torps being OP or too easy to use.

I recently moved up to the Tier VI Ranger. I noticed that my aircraft are getting hammered by AAA and enemy CAP. I know to avoid multiple ships and to not focus on enemy carriers. But even attacks on BBs have resulted in the entire flight being destroyed. What tactics or systems am I missing?

After 15K games of WoT, I had come to understand the errors that I had made at the lower tiers. Example: (1) getting the intuition perk as one of the first perks. (That was very dumb.); (2) not knowing which skills my crew/commander should have depending on the type of tank. I just came over from WoT and have not begun play on WoW. What mistakes did you make in Wow that you would avoid if you were starting over?

Great advice from everyone. Thanks. BTW, I noticed no flaming on this thread. Is WoW more civil than WoT? (That's a rhetorical question -- no need to answer.) -
This good video, above, speaks about the enemy ship's damage control "being popped." How do you know when that has happened? What signal or sign appears?

How about Commander skills?
