    A word of THANKS

The matchmaking you get is always decided by the ship(s) with the highest MM in the division. one Tier II with two Tier IV have the +-1 protected MM so can maximum see Tier V (although as johmie said this division should be impossible) For Tier V with Tier III (should also be impossible to queue) it would be up to Tier VII
  3. No as far as i know the numbers you see are actualy the people in queue that could potentionaly end up in the same match as you including lower and higher tiers. This also explains why the MM sometimes can't start a battle even though enough ships are in queue and balanced with equal numbers (2,4,6 etc) because the Tiers of the same class don't match up. (one Tier IX and one Tier X CV for example in a queue with only 24 players) Which is exactly what WG explained when they introduced the new MM optimations. MM will consider nation (for every class) as long asit doesn't take too long waiting for some. Except they are. 12 CAs is only possible if noone else queues for 5 minutes, or can you show off a screenshot with such a matchup? (no CVs allowed as those can easily explained by the one waiting Tier X CV like i explained above) Otherwise queues with 30-60+ CAs at the same time should be near impossible right? If there are matches with more than 5 BBs/DDs/CAs then one of those must have waited more than 3-5 minutes. Only the softcap rules break down after certain waiting times which is why sometimes there are very rare matches with extremes like 11 CAs/BBs/DDs per team. The CV rules you mentioned however are hardcaps and can never be broken no mater the waiting time. (which is why MM is in such a hurry to assemle a game when a fitting cv do show up creating those messed up MM spreads)
  4. There is a softcap on how many BB/CA/DD are allowed per team which is 5 (1 for CV in hightiers) which MM tries to maintain and usualy can in peak hours. That is why with queues like this you wait a lot longer for a match if you queue in a CA rather than a BB or DD. However if some of the people in the CAs wait too long (i think it is longer than 3 minutes) because there are not enough BB/DD filling the matches those cruiserheavy games like 2 BBs 8 Cruisers 2DDs can and will happen. This is most noticable if a Tier X CV waits in the queue for 5+ minutes until another Tier X CV press battle. The MM will (because that CV had to wait so long) instantly grab the 2. CV and anything else he can get to assemble two teams instantly. Which for example in the first picture would mean 1CV, 1 DD, 3 BBs rest CA (per team)

    Ramming mechanics

Could have been CAT too though can't renember because it's long ago and I am crap and old. Back in the day I got to play the CAT on an account of a friend that was more lucky to get in than me a friend that played the CAT and told me all about it (after the NDA was lifted ofc). (damn that sucker still envyious of his CAT flag and Iwaki Alpha which I UNLOCKED by playing because he couldn't ) No really ramming is fine as it is and represents how fatal these things are irl. It is also a nice addition to the game as it gives a tactical last resort action. It proves some skill if you could manage to surprise someone and trade in your almost dead BB against an almost full hp enemy one.

    Ramming mechanics

you seem to underestimate the forces that are in play to move a huge mass like a battleship at a speed of several knots. Collisions (even "mere scraping") between greater warships even in real live lead to fatal damage that mostly results in being unable to operate and having to repair in the nearest port, maybe even under another ships power because the ship won't make it to the harbour on it's own. (which in this game is represented as exploding and sinking = being unable to fight on/float) Regarding "friendly" hugs: There was a time back in the day in CBT when friendly "bumbs" lead to the same damage as enemy ones. I think you can imagine why this wasn't popular and patched out rather fast?
  7. Miessa3

so how does that work then??

Back in the day I played arty you still had to watch your shots as you could just as well hit and kill allies just like the torpedos. Usualy a DD captain is very experienced and trained in responding to the incoming torpedoalert and dodging them (becuase thats what we do very often) so it usualy isn't THAT bad. But if there are by coincidence also enemytorps that trip the torpedo warning shortly before the "friendly" torps come in range or while in a heated gunfight with an enemy DD it can happen that I as a DD main notice the Torps from the other direction too late. Sometimes when the game is lost anyways I also refuse to dodge even the most obvious of friendly torps. In some special cases it is even impossible to dodge. I just renembered a special player that droped torps in my way from under 4 km distance which i barely evaded by killing my speed (not engaged in that moment) only to eat the whole second torpsalvo lanched at me as a sitting duck AFTER I dodged the first wave (he literally fired them after his other torps passed me and then had the balls to complain that I didn't dodge and have to look where i am sailing). You can image the "friendly" "consturctive" and "helpful" critisism of his playstyle I had for him afterwards......

    MIssion play

Whoa careful there. Naming and shaming is a violation of the forum rules so I advise to edit the part I edited in the quote before a Mod shows up and sees this.

    Mockery discounts (rant)

Several weeks ago I got a 30% coupon after a solo warrior game. The coupon had the usual ridiculous restrictions (no dubloons, no special offers, no timed offers, no discounted offers). Since I still have plenty of premium time (at least enough to stretch to chrismas when the usual discount shows up) I went ahead and bought a duplicate Tirpitz for the discounted Doubloons.... Looks like WG didn't like what I (and others) did so I will have even less reason to use any of those awful coupons in the future. (can't buy duplicate ships for dubs in the shop anymore soon) I didn't even have a coupon yet with that seemingly new restriction of a minimum price (30€ in this case) and already thought those coupons where useless. I also once got a ingame -20% discount on one week of premium (the ones that also pop up after a battle but with a specific offer like a certain ship or premium time). The problem is at that time the premium time was on offer for -50% for everyone even ingame. So if I had taken the offer from that popup I would've paid more dubloons for the same thing as if I would've closed the window and went into the ingame "buy premiumtime" thingy to buy the premium week. Now THAT is an insult/mockery. Literally thinking I am stupid.

    Special Upgrade must have list

you should be able to slot spotter module on any ship that has a spotter plane. As far as i know only the radar and hydro ones are restricted by Tier. Don't forget to give the powerful radar module to those ships which have radar as outstanding gimmik like Missouri, Black and PA DDs (if radar is used ofc). Hydro is also not wrong to slot on most ships that come with hydro. Smoke and spotter is mostly a Perth thingy though....

Graf Spee owners - hints and tips, please.

Jeah we already see how that worked out in the test for Stalingrad v2 AGS with cruiser accuracy would be really broken. At least I would be very confident to destroy any cruiser and most BBs on Tier VI with that.

Graf Spee owners - hints and tips, please.

That's mean! My Admiral Graf Spee (and Thea) say otherwise! To OP: Yes the AGS is an oddball and one of "those" premiums that come with an untypical gameplay for their kind or any ship in their Tier. Just like with Perth people tend to judge the ship as bad just because they didn't get used to their very own playstyle or simply because it's not "their kind of ship". The best thing about the AGS are the Aps of those punchy 283mm guns. They have enough penetration to smash Battleships with regular pens doing a surprising amount of damage for a cruiser of this Tier and not enough penetration to overpen every cruiser they see. Except of the papercruisers AGS lands citadelhits very relaiably (if you manage to get a good dispersion) The HE is a bit me but for cruisers of the same Tier and even one higher the AGS is nothing to laugh at due to the big guns and her tankyness with the heal and somewhat upgraded armour. The only thing you always have to keep in mind is that you are neither a cruiser nor a battleship. Fighting a DD alone and expecting to melt it in secounds like normal Tier VI cruisers do is a big nono. (because of the long reload + dispersion - the Hydro is for selfdefence only don't expect hunting DDs with it) Tanking BB fire expecting it to live as long as a Bayern or Fuso is a big nono either as it may have good armour for a cruiser but still not enough to not be afraid when a BB turns it's guns to you. I like the ship because the once in a blue moon matches when you get a toptier cruiserheavy game are just awesome. You can literally go in like a Juggernaut and wreck everyone left and right with guns and torps if you are good enough to not overdo it and know when to turn and heal. Edit: Also Thea Kreutzer (the extra HSF captain for that ship) is hillarious and cute shouting "Feuer!" everytime you fire since soime recent patch. (yes I am a german guy)

    A word of THANKS

you as a divisionleader have to change the gamemode to "operations" first and then open a platoon. The platoon window will be bigger then (also works when changing gamemode while in a platoon). You can invite up to 6 other players then. If in a 4 man division you can either select the "operation of the week" then you get an option to pick up random players. The result is MM will try to find 3 other people going in solo and match it with your team to get the max number of 7. If you however pick any other operation that the currently "operation of the week" there won't be random solo players (as you can't queue solo for anything other than operation of the week) hence you will end up with a "short" team of 4 people while facing the same amount of enemys as if you were 7. This can be kind of difficult but it's not impossible with good teamplay. If you division with someone else the ship with the worst MM will be taken into account for which Tier you play against. In this case you got a Tier IV in your division so of course you can meet Tier V with any ship you can queue with that Tier IV in a division. The first 4 Tiers have protected MM as they never meet ships two tiers higher. Hence meeting Tier VI in a Tier IV is impossible as long as you don't division with Tier V ships. From Tier V onwards this protected MM ends and you can meet any ship up to two tiers higher. (except for Tier IX and X of course) Nice positive post and also welcome to the forums from me. Feel free to ask if you have more questions.
  14. Also if they ever do Tier VII Ranked again you got yourself a fine boat to troll with. (crazy xp modifier)

[SCRUB] The Scrubs - Recruitment thingy

Didn't we found that fancy boat? We should be fine then right? I bet someone is already missing it very much.
  16. Omg Tier V would be so good! Kongos, Kamikaze sisters and Nicholas everywhere!
  17. Yet it is WG we are talking about. I bet they want to streamline it (as now they can because they don't have to look up how many times that player ranked out before) by giving set amount of Steel which can be included in the automated reward handed out by reaching a rank. Knowing WG there is not a small possibility of them saying: "But we can't "increase" the rewards by just adding steel! We have to reduce some other thing that got rewarded on that specific rank before."
  18. Omg I haven't thought of that! Don't give them ideas! Do you think they will replace the dubloon reward with the new steelreward effectively reducing the amount of prices given out? (as everyone did receive Flint+Black manualy on top)
  19. The thing is the math of WG doesn't add up at all unless the will give out at least 5,5k steel for Rank 1 next season! Blackprice:14k steel -25% coupon= 10.500 steel -5k steel compensation for Rank 1 #4=5,5k steel gap Flintprice: 11,6k steel -25% coupon= 8.700 steel -5k steel compensation for Rank 1 #2=3,7k steel gap - Either they do some sort of personal mission to give those manualy selected players more Steel once reaching Rank 1 for next season. - Or they hand out a special increased steelamount onl for next season but after that it will be less like ~3k - Or the new steelreward for every rank 1 season is at least 5,5 k steel for every season now. Only the third option would be safe to skip the next ranked season if affected by that. (rank 1 #2 or #4) Let's say I am glad I just got Black last season and can grind two more seasons (any season I want) for the 2 missing tokens to get the special camos. (nothing will change for me except maybe even some extra steel for future rank 1) Well just look at WoT that recently got the 1.0 Would you say it got "released" with the change of 0.?? (didn't play so I don't know which version was last before ) to 1.0? From what I've seen they mearly updated the engine and improved grafiks stuff..... Is that a change to gameplay that marks the game as "ready for release"? There is still lots of things going on and added to the game like the recent new gamemode (not added with the 1.0 but later) with the big maps and bigger teams. I've also seen some "battle royale" thingy in the pipe for WoT. (jeah really. Everyone wants to cash in on that battle royal thingy recently )
  20. nice trolling making up over half your postcount. 10/10 would feed again Don't let the door hit you on the way out!
  21. You would be surprised how many of us windowlickers there are..... Just look up "5crubs" or "Snubs". Must be all about reaping rewards while cheating the MM to get it like OM is totally doing. Can't be that there are a large group of fun people that enjoy divisioning and bantering together. Some people will be forever alone.... Also you clearly destroyed my argument how your point makes no sense at all...
  22. Good thing you aren't in a clan right? What do you think all the fuss about the STALINGRAD Flags you can earn in Clanbattles was about? Because that flag is so beautiful everone wanted to have it? Also the Steel you want to be earned in other modes is only needed to buy the ranked ships Flint and Black or the CB ship Stalingrad from the shop (both you said you don't want/need). Everything else can be bouhgt with coal which you can get by playing any mode (containers + missions) so where is your problem?

    Critical Error Occurred

welcome to the forums! Sadly I can't help you because I have no clue about those kind of technical things other than the usual support answers like "try a gamerepair/reinstall". I just wanted to say welcome and that I love your digimon avatar. It fits this game so perfectly!
  24. I think the problem is WG is only trying to dodge the "oil" bullet with this. Back in the day when they introduced oil they explained that some is for the clanbenefits and some (the same mirrored amount) is for personal use unknown later. People kept collecting oil (again really no effort involved) but with expecting to get something for that later even if the clanbase were already maxed out. Now WG seems to back off from the thought of "personal oil" and make it a clanbase only thing. Hence they introduced the coal and steel thingy and made it for "everyone" to silence the people saying "only clans and players of the annoying ranked get the good stuff". But somehow WG still needed to fulfill their promise to do something with that personal oil thing because people would be upset if they just ignored it and washed it all away by introducing coal and steel. So they just get rid of the personal oil by exchanging against coal 1:5. I understand where you are coming from @MrFingers and I would ofc have no problem if they would just give out 50 coal per container opened since oil introduction regardless of clanmembership. I just think WG didn't think of that problem and only introduced it by trying to fix another one. And also to be fair you somehow willingly chose to not collect oil by not joining a clan, which has the now obvious consequences. Thinking this is somehow a "punishment" for not being in a clan is BS tinfoilhat territory. they just want to get rid of the personal oil thingy which sadly happened to be a clan only thing in the past, but this will change in the future with the coal and steel thingy. If they would just give out coal measured by opened containers (again would be totally fine by me as the expected exchange isn't really THAT much of a deal in amount of coal) the clanplayers could just think "What the hell then why did we bother farming oil in the first place?". tl,dr: Simply put they are damned if they do and if they don't.
  25. That is also what confused my a lot. Their math on Flint and black doesn't add up while the one on the Stalingrad is calculated on point. 28k - 25%= 21k < 6k+6k+10k=22k Let's say I am really happy that I already got my Black that i wanted and for the Flint and Black special camo still only have to get two more rank 1 seasons like before. (+2 emblems) I even get some steel extra for those next rank1 seasons..... So I am guaranteed to not lose anything but those poor souls with only 4 seasons with rank 1....... not so sure about that.... well but that is very uneffective. You get 10 Oil or 50 coal per container and one container costs several euros...... So jeah..... I think I will take my chances with the missions, containers etc to earn enough steel and coal the intended way...
