Firstly I really really like the dynamic of this game, its great and requires entirely different skills to WoT and a heap of other things: it turns out that I love ships, I enjoy huge cannonades, the graphics are very very good, some of the sky scenes are amazing and so on and so forth. Only a couple of gripes yet, its probably me being a bit dim so if there is a way to this which I am not seeing please do say!
1. There is no obvious way to talk to your team mates quickly like in WoT, a 'help' or 'target selected/requesting fire' button would be great. I know there are ways to click the map but I haven't found out how yet, someone tried instructing me but it didn't work.
2. Torpedo... NIGHTMARE. I know in real life the tinfish were enough to at least cripple a BBS (Bismarck) or sick in one shot (the whole battle of the Atlantic etc). But in the game these should be dumbed down a bit. I like using torps myself, getting in close can be a rush; however when I am travelling at Full across the map and I suddenly get a 2 second warning and then I am dead...it's not fair. A fully healthed ship (St Louis for example) travelling at that speed cannot adjust in time and you die. I would therefore suggest that you extend spotting range (as crewmen would be placed in strategic locations with binoculars) to allow for an earlier warning time.
3. Fires: a fire at sea is a cataclysmic problem for the ship and rightly this game includes an aggressive and nightmarish fire dynamic. Although I am of the opinion that ships catch fire far too easily...what are these ships made from? Explodium? The Bismarck took 12 hours(ish) for the crew to abandon her and I am fairly sure she would not have caught fire as easily as we do. It is all very well and good having a repair crew (another great addition btw) but I used the crew to subdue a fire, during a close quarters battle (which was EXCELLENT) and then another fire started just when the crew stopped operating. I sank the enemy ship and I received no further hits but had to wander lamely around the seascape tor 20 seconds until the fire took me down. Which sucked tbh, a battle where I sank 2 ships and a damn fire went on too long after my combat had ended.
4.Medals: please keep these for each battle as it allows me to work out what the heck is going on ;) . having them at the top rght of the screen is a huge help.
5. The St. Louis: 18 Guns...? WOW its like dropping a small planet on someone haha
Thanks for bringing up a good game and I look forward to seeing it progress!
