    What to do with premium ship XP

    2 million FXP for a tier 10 ship seems a lot to me when you do the maths and see what it would cost to convert 2m XP to FXP at a rate of 1 gold - 25 FXP. You're talking over £240 to do it. So that tier 10 ship cost that much, while a T9 premium cost £56? Also, these tech tree FXP T10 ships. Do they even come with built-in extra money making? Like buying a premium T9 ship from the shop does? Because if they don't - then it's just not worth getting a T10 tech tree FXP ship. Not unless they earn more money per battle than a proper T9 premium bought. And another thing also, you have to be careful with some of these "Promo" premium ships offered. Some of them don't have the built-in extra credit earning and are classed a Promo ship and not proper credit earning premiums

    Takes longer now that Wargaming want 2 million FXP for a tier 10 FXP ship and not 1 million. Which makes little sense why they now want 2 million FXP for a tier 10 ship. Converting XP to free FXP using gold at a rate of 1 x 25 would cost over £240. There isn't a tier 10 ship that has been sold for anything like that price. Tech tree ships also can earn free FXP just as good as any premium if you take a line to the end and get the T10 stock ship, then buy the perma camo for it that gives you 100 XP per battle. The only difference is that you can buy a premium T9 ship that also comes with a camo giving 100 XP per battle (as T9 premiums come with 100 XP camos) - but because it's a tier 9 and premium means it will still earn you credits unlike a T10 stock ship with a perma camo put on it. I have 3 lines - German, French and UK grinded to T10 on the BB lines, and perma camo for them all. But it's pointless playing them for FXP when I have a few T9 premium ships like Bart and Pommern that earn the same FXP with 100% XP camos on them, but also earn credits as well. When T10 stock ships, even with a perma camo put on them don't earn much (if not a loss) because they have no built-in credit modifier and are a tier higher than any T9 prem costing more to service

    You can get them in Sprint Ranked battles also. Which don't last as long as Operations, if they are still doing the 3 ship per-side battles

    Worth noting that HE fire chance on Pommern is not too bad, even worth adding fire chance skill to the secondary build boosting it to 36% on main guns. It's a bit like GK, in that Pommern can actually use HE shells and start fires with them more often than you might think for a German BB (feels better than Tirps or Bismark) which both seem to have dire HE shells. As far as how the guns are at range with that sigma - no different I guess than the likes of Conq that doesn't have great sigma, but having 12 guns makes up for landing shots over distance.

    True that, with the spotting changes (nerfs) coming to CV. You'll have a hard time trying to use rockets on a DD when they have something like 1.5k detection radius to a cv.

    Just so you know, if your thinking of picking George for the secondary guns that is (Massa and George good secondary), and the fact it's more agile than your usual BB. It's nowhere near as good as Pommern for secondary gun fights. I have both ships and Pommern is easy better than George for the secondary guns

    Thunderer vs Marceau

    I was looking at the Marceau other day. It's about the only coal ship listed that I was maybe interested in, already have Azumo - so the T10 JAP cruiser is too similar for coal. But what you said reminds me of the time I rented the Le Terrible. Too big a DD really, that once spotted it becomes an easy DD target to kill and everyone focuses on you because you are a DD that lacked smoke to hide in.

  11. I think the build is pretty straight foward for the Brit T10 CV, Take fire chance skill and boost the plane strength and regen rates, and take concealment for 4pts. Seeing as two of it plane weapons are HE based - seems a no brainer to take fire chance skill

    French BB at T7 looks like it has the same 130mm / 22 pen secondary guns as Lion sitting at same tier. Has 2 per-side and 1 at rear that can fire both sides by the looks of things. So that is a shift away from the typical 100mm secondary guns that Bart and Dunk use mainly which are only any good for starting fires with rubbish 16mm pen, But that 5 seconds reload on all secondary will make them seem slow firing unless they buff them down to about 4 seconds.

    Yeah, they'll do something to hamper the guns compared to Bajie or Izumo. They ain't going to give it 12 guns when they both only have 9. They will either shorten the fire range, give them worse sigma (dispersion), or as you said a longer reload. But don't think that will happen and will be one of the latter two instead (or both together). Shorter range and worse dispersion maybe - or maybe just worse dispersion. Like I said before, it looks a up-tiered Kii clone to me, and that has bad dispersion and only average range

    But Izumo and Bajie only has 9 guns and not 12. So you can bet dispersion won't be as good as Bajie or Izumo

    T7 French BB looks like they've given it Lion secondary guns with better firing angles and better pen. Notice there isn't the 3 secondary guns facing rear like on Dunk and Bart at T6 and T9, there is only one rear secondary that looks like it can fire sideways. That might be a worthwhile T7 BB. The German DD looks okay having 12k torps. I think that one will sell best of them all based on the torp range. Wouldn't like to comment on the JAP T9 BB. It could end up just being another KII clone with bad dispersion on them 4 turrets. They've given it 4 and not 3 turrets like on the the two T10 Jap BBs. So makes me think it'll be a clone of KII.

    Some nations ships just have better built-in fire starting chance. Looking at the rate of fire, how many guns are fired, and what fire chance the ship has to work things out between ships. That doesn't make much difference when a certain ship just has a built-in better fire starting chance like the Bit line, and maybe even the JAP cruiser line. I have the Azumo and it starts fire for fun. But not like it has a 40 or 50% fire chance. Both PR and Azumo have 27% fire chance. Azumo has slightly faster reload with 9 guns. But PR has 12 guns with slightly longer reload. So they both balance out even with same fire chance. But Azumo with start 10x the fires that PR ever will. That isn't down to fire chance stats alone.
  18. Well it's no different in play style from Tirps, Bismark, GK FDG. People will still play it same way as they play them ships, a good brawler.
  19. I would say that Jean Bart and Pommern have been the two best premium ships I've bought so far. So yeah, Pommern isn't a bad ship and fun to play. I now have that German camo for it as well after completing the directives. It worth spending the coal on it and don't think it will remain listed for coal for much longer looking at all the players who's already got it since. It's obviously been very popular with people getting it... and Wargaming don't like a certain ship becoming too popular being bought all the time like Mush and why it was removed

    Won't AFT extend the gun range on Fried and boost AA further as a + without you needing to take that last module for it, meaning you can stick AA module on that last slot. Her guns are dead floaty and hard to hit anything at range, after trying the extend range module first on that last slot. So removed it and put AA module on it instead to combat CV better with the AA module also on the other slot as well (max out AA on the ship). But thought it would still be nice to gain a bit extra range, so was thinking about sticking AFT on it to make up "somewhat" for not using the extra range module on that last slot. Also using BFT as well for faster fire rate and again that also boosts the AA I'm also in two minds if it's worth sticking IFHE on it instead of using concealment module for 4 points. It doesn't pen very well, but losing the 4pt concealment is not ideal if you take IFHE instead

    Sorry, yes, they are 10.5k on Sims if you use the longer ranged torps. I was thinking of the Yūdachi because I have torp speed boost skill used on it, which brings the range down from 15k to 12k

    Yes, I have both the module and skill used on it to speed turret transverse up a bit. But it's still on the slow side.

    Great guns and very easy to use on it with a flat trajectory. But for a noob you're pushing it bit with 8k torps and and max concealment of 6.6. It's a fun DD, fast and great guns to use. But I think something like Sims is better suited to a noob at T7 because of the ample concealment to use those 12k torps option with it. But I have Leningrad and do like the guns on it.

    Sims is a good DD for a newbie. 12k torps can be used with it and it has long smoke duration time, it seems to earn credits okay as well. Plus the torps can be got down to 68 seconds reload as well. I was going to say the premium JAP DD at T7 as also called Yūdachi, which is like a mini Asashio with 15k torps - but the torps can kill all ship classes unlike it's big brother Asashio. But they since removed it from sale in the shop

    No idea how he does it in Enterprise. I have the CV also, but I hardly play it because it just doesn't work for me that CV. I can do far more consistent damage in Kaga, and to an extent Saipan than I can in Enterprise.
