  1. I did say in my last post, I overlooked I don't have the ship fully upgraded yet. I know it can make a big difference when that is done, same way it used to when playing tanks in WOT before they are fully upgraded. I will reserve my judgment now until I do have the ship fully upgraded with Hull B and the next gun upgrade. It might be a totally different ship then. I overlooked I was making comments about a ship that isn't even fully maxed out yet.
  2. Na, just a case of getting used to ranges is all. I can hit ships from 14.7k in the Lightning repeatedly. More so if it's a BB. Not hard at all. And to be honest, with BFT also that speeds up the reload. It's pretty much like a Cruiser HE spammer. Look at the calibre of guns that fall under BFT and AFT and you'll see DD guns benefit from both because they are inside that smaller 139mm calibre of guns. DD's are the only ship that can have their main battery shooting range extended with AFT because of it. Both Cruisers and BB have main battery guns larger than 139mm. it will also extend and increase the reload of your DD AA guns as well, not that they are much use, well, unless you have a DD with better than average AA. So with a DD you gain on all your guns using BFT and AFT. As for the Jutland. Yeah, I kind of overlooked at first that I don't have all the ship upgrades done yet. Of course that can make a big difference later when you have them. The ship may well be far better when I do have them researched and used, my mistake really, I know that can happen when playing WOT before you fully upgrade a tank to best guns used, etc.
  3. Okay yeah, I just got the ship, obvious with so few games in it yet. So I do have the A hull used, and same with all other upgrades at the minute you can upgrade the ship too better ones. I didn't know the B hull has 6 guns. I don't have it yet, nor looked at what it offers over the A hull. But on another note; you can't seriously work out how many fires should be started etc, not when you have RNG in the game that can change all that with figures worked out. We'll see how things go when the ship is fully upgraded then.
  4. Jutland has 5 guns, not 6. So redo your maths again. http://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Ship:Jutland Or when firing at 7s you can go up to average of 7.9 fires per min. And as said before. That's all well and fine working things out that way, But when your guns register NO DAMAGE at all, how are you starting so many fires at that rate. I just played another battle in the Jutland now. Had a somewhat slightly better result, did 48 shots on target and did 8k damage. But according to your figures with so many shots on target aimed at the upper structure, then I should have more than 8k damage from burns then. I think I had one burn from 48 shots on a Cruiser, its not even a BB
  5. I suggest you go buy the Jutland ship and play it without IFHE used, then come back and post again. Seriously, you would expect without that skill, that the ship is still playable as a tier 9 ship with it's guns. Sorry, but that just isn't the case - unless you want to sail around firing only torps and no guns. You might change your tune if you try it out for yourself to see what I mean....
  6. Yeah, Yeah... it always boils down to if a persons stats ain't about 60% then he's at fault. See, it isn't rocket science to aim guns at the weaker upper structure on ships instead to try and do damage that way. You don't need 50,000 games under your belt you know that much, or have a 80% winrate, lol I played WOT for over 3 years mate, it's basically the same game mechanics in both games hitting things in right places. The guns are still pants without that IFHE, no matter where you aim
  7. Okay so my stats are "dire", shoot me for it. Not sure what any of this has to do with the Jutland guns being useless without IFHE though?
  8. Why have you picked my Asashio. That doesn't have AFT and BFT on it. It's the Jack Dunkirk on Lightening that had it. I also don't care one jot about stats? I play it as a game, stats mean nothing me. Have ZERO interest in them. RNG can play a part with stats, along with a player being better than you in general at using a certain ship class like a DD. Never said I was a great META DD player, why do you think I take long range shots for as part of the build I prefer. Because I ain't some META god at close up fighting all the time against other DD's. So your stats being better than mine means about as much to me, as how many bog rolls I have sat on the toilet
  9. Priority Target? - waste of a point. You have an X key to pick targets, use it. Last stand - yes I agree on that one (wish I could use it also), but 19 points doesn't cover everything and would sooner have extended smoke screen expert instead of Last Stand simply because I'm using a special Jack Dunkirk captain that specialises in smoke screen. Otherwise I'd drop smoke screen for Last stand. Which I'll do that on my Ashio 20k torper, no need for extended smoke screen on that ship really and would benefit more with Last stand. Just because you go with the NORM for a DD. Doesn't mean every DD player should. I prefer to gain the extra shooting range and faster reload. Means I can also play at a good distance as well and increase my possible damage potential with guns
  10. You say that, but funny I can do a lot of fire damage shooting BB's from 14.7k away and of cousre it makes me a very hard target to hit back from nearlly 15k away trying to shoot a moving small DD. Maybe you should try it and see the gain you get being able to shoot BB from long range - while you remain a hard target to hit back from that range.
  11. I have Jack Dunkirk on my DD. The skills I went with (which I know you may disgree with) but I prefer it this way. 1 = PM 2 = EM 3 = BFT 4 = AFT and Concealment Expert That leaves me 14 points used, 5 points are left, 4 points for Jack of all trades and Smoke Screen expert (that Jack Dunkirk is specialises in) and 1 point then for something else. You may not agree with taking BFT and AFT - but having both skills extends the shooting range and reload rate of DD guns, which I find very useful. Especially extending the shooting range to 14.7 on the Lightning
  12. Err, yes I do. The cost is 350 doubloons to redistribute all skills. Oh, hang on. Now I see you can change that from doubloons to skill points (whatever) says I need 132,000. Lol. So it's still boils down to doubloons for me to do it.
  13. Yep, I did see the guns caliber changes to a lower one. Like I said, I did read WIKI about the Jutland compared to Lightning before buying it. Also of course read that part about the IFHE as well with the Jutland. But you know... I really didn't expect the guns would be so utterly useless without that skill. And of course that means you have spend doubloons on changing all skills. Not an issue like, but here's why I won't below. I'm not doing it because I have BFT and AFT on the Jack Dunkirk captain used and it extends to guns on the Lightning to shooting 14.7 range and also gain faster reload with those two skills (+Concealment) used. So one of those 2 "4 skills" would have to go for IFHE - meaning shooting range is lost and also Fire chance then gets reduced with IFHE put on Jutland to lesser than the Lightning. So I'll go back to Lighting instead.
  14. See, I know what IFHE skill is. I do have other ships and know it's needed for better secondary damage with some BB's. We also know if you take that skill that it lessens the fire chance of guns at the expense of better penetration. Most DD use HE (simple as that) to start fires on ships like BB's. AP rounds from DD's fired at BB's is stupid and you know it. No British DD before the Jutland needs the IFHE skill to make the HE guns work doing any damage and starting fires, so why would you take it on the previous DD's when concealment is more the first choice, or BFT or AFT to extend the shooting range and get faster reloads. See, I wouldn't mind if the guns still sort of worked. But what I have just seen in 4 matches played shooting HE at upper stuctures of ships and the amount (or lack off) damage done. It's ridiculous, the guns don't work at all. And you ain't starting any fires, because the guns don't do any damage to start them from what I see so far. So much for the fire chance? And if you take IFHE then the fire chance goes down anyway because of that skill taken. Not like it's fire chance is any higher than the Lightning DD to start off with.
  15. Already tried it, just as usless as the HE. But whats the point of having to use AP (even if it was any good). Remember, this is a DD not a BB shooting AP shells. AP is useless from this ship against BB's. So basically you say don't even use HE and stick to AP only. Thanks that makes the ship sound even more useless
  16. What fire chance? The Lightning has 9% fire chance, this has 8% same as all the other Brit DD's before it shooting HE. I have yet to start a fire. There is nothing special about it's fire chance percentage given. The lightning has higher fire chance and also uses bigger 120 (or is it 122mm guns) that do damage easy without that skill
  17. That's a pity then. As I reckoned with the 20% coupon and 37 Guineas already saved got free from doing the RN missions. That would be enough with both combined to get it when the coupon came in 10 days time. That said, I did get the permanent green camo for lightening DD last week completing the second collection for RN (same tier 8 level Brit DD as Cossack). I was able to train Jack (special commander) for it I got free also. I was wondering with the Cossack anyway, is it like a premium ship in that you can't actually train Jack as a commander for that specific ship, he can only go on it as trained for another stock ship. With the lightening being a stock ship (with perm camo on it now). I'm able to do that with Jack on that ship, have him trained specifically for that ship. Which I don't thinking (guessing) I could do with him on the Cossack, if you know what I mean by that? What I mean by that. If I moved Jack to the Cossack. It won't ask me to retrain him for that specific ship. Not the same way it did moving him from another ship to Lightning (because it's a stock ship and not a premium one).
  18. I personally would not buy the Musashi . Most playing it tend to seem nervous of moving from the same spot they start the game on. Like they don't want to get spotted and just farm damage from 24k range (how boring a gameplay is that). CV love it because it's AA is rubbish, other ships target it as soon as spotted and it moves in range. Na, I'd sooner spend the coal on something like the T9 Salam Cruiser instead. More fun to play and not a bullet magnet to shoot at like the Musashi usually always seems to be. It gets too much attention really, same way the Nelson does and why I wouldn't get that either. The Bart isn't too bad as a T9 BB, it doesn't suffer from the same fate as the Nelson/Musashi and has the speed to escape any trouble it gets into. It also has decent AA and decent secondary base range of 7k (not sure how good the secondary are though), but the AA is rated on it as being the best of the T9 ships. And it shoots 24k with a short reload of 26 seconds. Looks to be an well rounded ship in all departments to use... I think, for more enjoyable playing.
  19. I'll give it a miss. Too much playing time involved to even stand any chance of winning something decent like the Bart ship. Anyway, I currently have 37 doubloons saved now given free doing the RN missions and there's a new 20% discount coupon on ships coming on the 25th Dec. I'll wait for that now to appear in-game, then get the Cossack for free.
  20. So I'll take it nobody has got the MISSOUR yet?

Good DD players - Asashio - yes or no?

Point worth mentioning. I think it's harder to play a normal T8 DD in T10 matches because most only fire torps up to 8 or 10k range, which can still get you detected in T10 matches full of ships using radars. The Asashio if played carefully in T10 matches can still remain outside ships radar ranges at 15k and fire it's torps.
  22. To be fair WOT is an old game now. Many from WOT might have moved over to playing WOWS or WOWP instead for something different, or even moved to other games like Armoured Warefare. I came from playing WOT to WOWS, I played it on and off for around 3-4 years but don't play it any more. You get bored after a few years playing the same game and it has been around for a long time. Plus there wasn't WOWS and WOWP when it had bigger numbers online, now those numbers are split between more than just WOT wargaming is running. As for the MM. Well, it's really no different in WOWS than it was in WOT. Still the same thing about T8 players being up-tiered too often into T10 matches and being way too outclassed. Nothing has changed between both games on that score. It's always been a case that T8 is the most popular played tier, I don't think everyone wants to keep playing at T10 because of the running cost with ships or tanks involved with T9 and T10 stock ship (after tier 8 it starts to cost you credits to play each match most of the time, you run at loss and need to play premiums to support playing T9/10). So T8 is always going to get tiered up to T10 to make up the players numbers , doubt that will ever change unless they start selling T9/10 premium ships that make credits at that level to support keep playing at that level At least in WOWS you can get your hands on some T9 premium/coal/doubloon ships to play at top level, so if you don't like playing T8 ships at T10, get a T9 one instead. That has never happened in WOT. Never has there been (to my knowledge) a premium T9 tank sold to give you that option like there is in WOWS.
  23. The carrot is the MISSOURI . Many will buy them to try and get that ship that's no longer sold. Out of interest, is the MISSOURI only being dropped in the most expensive MEGA boxes? I would have thought that's the only way you'll have a chance of getting it, buying the most expensive Xmas Mega boxes. I had two free ones today and got 300 doubloons and some camo's

HMS Vanguard - T8 Royal Navy premium BB proposal

I wanted to buy the Vanguard first, seeing as it's a British tier 8 ship. But didn't after looking at the ships specs and seeing there was nothing about it really to warrant using it. I bought the Massy B a week later instead, what a good ship it is too. It has so many things going for it, shame they can't do the same with a Brit T8 BB. And don't think they ever will, not sure there is anything else "Historically" ship wise that they can use after the Vanguard.
