My stats are bad and I don't care. I play the game for enjoyment. if I played the game based on only trying to get good stats, then you end up playing it like you see others doing in the game. BB's sitting back on the back line for ages and asking others to go rush in and cap so they can shoot from safer distances to credit farm their stats. Seen it going on too much in WOT and it's no different in WOWS when you look at the map in game and see that many either play a back line game, or wide flanking game for safety to protect their stats and try and pick off long shots farming damage. The biggest whiners in the game that tell others what to do, are usually the stats players "who have no sense of enjoyment", and only play it to try and prove a point that they are good to others at the expense of not really playing as a team player. I was in my Asashio the other day that can fire torps from 20k. It was a tier 10 match and saw their was a few radar ships on the other side. So decided I wasn't going to risk getting killed in 2 seconds capping at the start. Had this stats player crying about the fact I wouldn't cap right away and shot me 3 times because it upset him. That is what stats players are, they expect others to do the hard work for them to farm damage, no matter what it might mean for you!

I was thinking about how winrates is worked out last night while playing COOP match. I read somebody say that COOP matches are full of bots and are FIXED so you win about 97% of the COOP matches you play. So if a person plays mostly COOP matches, then that would mean their winrate is going to be high if it's true that over 90% of the games are rigged for you to win. That if COOP matches are worked out into your winrate, that is? If they are worked out into the winrate. Then I'm guessing all a person really needs do is play COOP all the time more than RANDOMS to get a high winrate.

Said the same myself in another thread.

Played it a few times and suppose it's not a bad ship really for its tier 3 class. I do find the turret traverse speed to be horrendously slow though, even with the turret skill used to speed it up a bit. Not so much a problem when shooting at distance ships. But I've had a few DD's coming right near me in about 3 games now, only about 2k away and sailing past me broadside waiting for their torps to reload and I just couldn't keep the turrets on them at all to take any shot each time. No matter how hard I tried different ways to do it in 3 games it happened. Don't know if anyone else has had this happen in it to them yet? I think maybe they need look at buffing the turret transverse a little. Don't get me wrong, I obviously don't expect BB turrents to be fast enough to keep pace with a DD sailing past you at close range. But it was bad though, you don't seem to stand a chance of getting any shots in at all, no matter if you try and sail away from them turning into your turret transverse to help speed things up and hope at least 1 turret lines up for a shot.

Just got the UK Dreadnought BB for free in the game as a premium ship Anyone else had it today

CV will love this ship. It has no AA guns for defence against planes.

I didn't know that. Thought I was special for a second getting it.

How to Play HMS Cossack. Better than the Lightning?
MRGTB replied to Adm_Ballsey's topic in Destroyers
I thought if you shoot in smoke with lets say only 15 seconds left, It would mean you'd be detected when the smoke vanished. But fair enough, I wasn't 100% sure about that.- 12 replies

How to Play HMS Cossack. Better than the Lightning?
MRGTB replied to Adm_Ballsey's topic in Destroyers
Well the Cossack has 10k torps, compared to the Lightning only having 8k torps. Both have the same concealment when fully kitted out of 5.5. So I think in terms of stealth play shooting torps, the Cossack is a better ship, even if only having 4 torps and not 8 like the Lightning can use. The reload of the torps on the Cossack is pretty decent also to make up for lack of not having 8 torps, more so if you install the skill to reduce torp reload down even further. I think it comes down then to around 40 seconds torp reload. I dunno...I liked the Lightning before getting the Cossack, but found 8k range on torps is very borderline short, it's hard to use them in higher tier games like T9 and T10, especially when both ships only have very short smoke duration if things go wrong and your spotted or picked up on radar with 10k + range, which is more likely to happen with 8k torp range and having to get closer in (and most likely inside radar range) to use them. Torps having a 10k range does help makes thing easier with shooting them. Apart from the torp difference. I think both ships are pretty much the same on everything else. The Lightning does have better AA guns than the Cossack.. but, it's not like they are great and doesn't really matter on a DD anyway. Most will turn off AA guns so they don't auto fire at planes and get you spotted by accident. Actually, I dislike one thing about all RN DD ships, the very short smoke duration time. 40 seconds is nothing and it takes 20 seconds after shooting to go invisible again. So you only really have 20 seconds of time to shoot guns in smoke before needing the other 20 seconds to leave it as undetected (which is pretty dire). I think they should either buff the smoke duration time of RN DD's, or offer a coal upgrade to extend the duration time - it's way too short a time I think on RN DD's to be of any real use. When I can play other DD's with 90 seconds smoke duration time like Asashio B. Which I prefer to play instead of the Cossack because of that far better smoke duration time. More of a life saver, and you can shoot guns in smoke for a full 70 seconds with 20 seconds to spare.- 12 replies

Can't see why they should add it back, not when people are gambling money on a "one armed slot machine" containers, on the rare chance of getting it in one. If people are daft enough to pay money on them hoping to get it, then they don't really have any reason to add it back. It's called dangling a carrot.
-
Doubt you will see the Missouri ever return back for sale in-game. The only way I can see you getting that ship now, is in special containers like the Xmas ones currently being sold with a very rare chance of getting it.
-
Yeah, but you can say the same thing about many other DD's that come up against it. And how often is that going to happen in each match? Not to mention you can say the same about T8 BB in T10 matches trying to pen the strongest T10 BB's at long range and doing nothing but bounces with AP shells. Goes for all ships that.

Winrate stats have never interested me, don't even bother looking at them. I played WOT for years and was never interested in them with that game either. I play for fun, but amazes me how many players are obsessed with their own winrate stats, and the stats of other players. I see the very same obsession is going on in WOWS also.
-
Yes, but I've only been playing the game for about 2-3 months. Not 2 years. As far as which is best at winning games. A normal DD that can shoot anything with torps vs Asashio, that can't. That's fair enough if there's no BB left in the end. All I'm saying is.... I think the Asashio is a good ship to play and others shouldn't really be put off by the fact it can only kill BB/CV with torps. It still has guns that have no trouble dishing out damage on anything due to them being 127mm guns. And yes, I know all about the Jutland, I started the other thread about it. You so called need IFHE skill for that, and the next T10 after it for the HE guns to work.
-
Last two games have been 70k and 90k damage tonight. Sure, in some matches you listen to idiots in chat who ask you rush cap and get killed fast, then that brings your damage average down. That happens and getting spotted early does too by other charging in DD's. Keep in mind all that brings your average damage down, unless you do superb in every single game. But I've had over 100k damage a few times now in this ship, and regularly do over 60k damage in it. For me in a DD, I ain't no meta top player. That is good for me to do over 60k damage in a DD. I struggle more to even do that in a T8 BB
-
It's funny that most call the Asashio a bad DD. I do better and cause more damage "on average" per game in my Asashio B, than I do in any other ships, I prefer to play it now more than any other ship. Including the Massy B I bought also. The Asashio B (for me at least) is the best premium ship I've spent money on so far. I also have the Cossack, but I still prefer to play the Asashio B over it. It's simply a good DD to play because you can dictate shooting range with torps, plus I think it's suits playing in T10 matches better than a normal DD with short 8-10k range torps, because you can avoid radar 10 or 11k ranges in the Asashio B and still fire torps off at unsuspecting BBs... without being radar spotted. Which in T10 matches (usually full of radar ships) half the time, it's a big plus factor going for the Asashio. Gotta say, I really like playing it. The smoke duration is long also at around 90 seconds. Which I think is another good thing about the ship . And the guns are actually not that bad, not like some try and make out they are. They seem to start fires on BB and Cruisers easy enough, and I extended the range of the guns to nearly 14k with AFT skill. So then you have long range torps and pretty decent range guns as well for shooting in long duration smoke at distance to get some gun damage done also at a much safer distance. You also can't knock it's stealth. I have 5.4 concealment on mine now. It a good all-round ship really, you can use its stealth for capping (but a bit risky, as it can't really fight other normal DD well if they spot you). Or play it more as a flanker torp'ing from distance and capping when there's less ships left in the game to worry about. All this about it can only shoot BB/CV only, that doesn't (for me) really limit the ship that much if you extend the gun range and use it in combination with a 90 second smoke screen.
-
You have concealment listed as this for: Asashio 6.84 (6.16) I have the B version with black camo and have it down to 5.4 with concealment module and 4 point skill used.

Never said cost was a problem for me to redo skills. It wasn't about that, but the fact no other DD before it requires IFHE. I was happy with my skill layout for Brit DD, now that threw a spanner in the works having to redo all the skills again and lose one 4 pointer I wanted to keep going - in exchange for IFHE instead. It just seems silly to me that once you get to T9 ships the calibre of guns drops needing IFHE skill to be effective, when if anything it should pack better guns of same calibre as the T8. Not stick less calibre guns on T9 and T10 with the "handicap" now that they require IFHE to make them work after you bought the ship. But, that's just my own view... keeping in mind I can do more damage in the Lightning or Cossack without IFHE used at T9 and T10 using HE shells
-
Yeah but, we're talking about two DD fighting here. And the Jutland doing no damage at all with 4-5 rounds of shots fired. We're not talking shooting a well armoured BB or Cruiser. It was pathetic watching that DD player do that against another DD, and doing it in a T9 DD as well. It's a top level DD, one level short of T10 and can't even pen another DD with 4-5 full HT shots. Meh! Come on, nuff said really...
-
Funny thing is here. I was in a match yesterday, and with a Jutland on my team. I died early and followed him with camera. He ended up fighting another DD one v one and saw him fire off 4 or 5 HT rounds that hit the other DD fighting at close quarters and did ZERO damage to it. Guess he also must not have been using IFHE as well. Read that again what I just said. He hit another DD 4-5 times and did zero damage with HT fired. Guess what? The other DD killed him easy because of it. That player must have thought, WTF, 4 or 5 shots on a DD at close range and no damage???? So yeah, you keep defending that the Jutland works fine without IFHE used...
-
Without IFHE used you are more or less limited to shooting AP only. So you're shooting yourself in the foot like the other person said by saying you don't need IFHE. Of course you do, unless you only want to have one ammo that is effective for using. An half-assed ship played... What's the point of having two ammo choices, especially when HT is best one used of the two for a DD to start fires with it on BB's. AP won't do you much good fired against BB from it, nor against some cruisers at T10 level. Or, are you now going to say you shouldn't even be shooting at BB's and Cruisers at all, ever?
-
Rubbish!
-
Which is utter nonsense because I do know that IFHE can improve the pen of HE shells at cost of losing some fire chance. What I didn't expect is that the HE shells fired from the DD (after previous DD in the UK line) not needing IFHE for the HE shells to be effective. Is that the HE shells from this T9 ships would be so terrible without IFHE used. It wasn't about me not knowing. It was about training a captain to suit the previous DD's with no IFHE needed on them. Now suddenly it's a "must have" skill for T9 and T10 ships in the same line. Sure, I could redo all the skills - but to jump from the T8 DD without IFHE to T9 and discover that the ships HE is pretty much useless is what was somewhat annoying, after spending what, in total around 14-15 million hard earned credits to fully kit the ship out. Bottom line... if you don't have IFHE skill playing the British DD line past T8 and don't want redo all captain skills again to include it. Don't go past T8 in the British DD line, because you have no option but having redo all the skill to include IFHE for T9 and T10. There is no ifs or butts about that.

I purchased the Cossack DD last night. I already had 37 Guinness from RN missions and noticed the special offer to buy 10 more for only 37p. So then only needed to buy the other special offer of £3.89 for 5 more Guinness (total of £5 spent) to get the Cossack premium. That is why I dropped this ship. The Cossack has same 10k torps and doesn't need that IFHE used as a skill to make the guns work.

Sold the ship now. Just the usual British rubbish that Wargaming like to churn out.... far better other DD to spend money than this ship.
