    Prince of wales idea

Why not? I'm all for the British BB's having a smoke screen.
  2. I already play the Cossack and Asashio B. It's enough trying to grind out the skills on them two DD ships, plus no point training a captain between the Lightning and Cossack really, the latter ship is a premium that trains skills faster anyhow. It has a fast fire rate same as Lightning, but with 10k torps and not 8k. No, I didn't buy him with coal. I got Jack Dunkirk for doing the RN missions, or maybe it was the RN collections. I have done the first 2 RN collections. But see only Bert is listed to buy now like you say.

Tier 8 MM is a slap to the face

I know what you mean. I sold the premium T8 Massachusetts B this week because I got sick of playing it in T10 matches. But on the other-hand, I kept the T8 Asashio B destroyer I bought at same time because that plays well in any tier matches. So yeah, some ships are better suited to T10 as T8 ships, mostly destroyers which make the leap to T10 better than any other class of ship. T8 BB's are the worst type of ships playing at T10.
  4. I don't have the Lightning now. I have no need for it with me only using the Cossack premium DD in the RN DD line. I also, a bit stupid really. Got rid of Jack Dunkirk because the Cossack comes with it's own captain (without those skill perks of course). But used that captain that came with Cossack instead because he's actually named for that ship in particular. Whereas putting Jack on the Cossack, he would always still show as being trained for a different ship, even though it makes no real difference. So don't know about that, I use the paid modules to speed them all up for everything anyway on the Cossack - with it being a premium, I don't need try and make money out the ship. Already have 40 million in bank , lol. So let the money earned from playing it pay for the better modules used now instead in each game.
  5. I have the perma camo for the Lightning already from doing the RN collection, I had it when I moved from the Lightning to the Jutland, and had Jack Dunkirk as a special captain on it. I only really decided to move to the Jutland because the torps are 10k and not 8k like on the Lightning. Normally, I will stop at T8 level anyway because it's the same model of play as WOT. In that, after T8 ships it then costs you credits to play them - unless it uses a premium camo (which I would probably would have bought for the Jutland had I liked it). But now I also have the Cossack since that has 10k torps. So I'm happy to stick with the Cossack as a premium that makes money playing it at T8 and not take the Brit tech tree any further past the Jutland. Also, I have the Japanese Asashio B premium DD, which honestly I prefer to play over any of the normal Brit DD's with lesser range torps, plus it has 127mm guns. To be clear, as this has been said a few times now. Buying camo's and ships is not an issue for me, you can check my stats and see the different premium ships I've bought in the few months only playing the game. I work and can afford to buy anything sold in-game. It was simply about the gun issue I complained about and the fact you need to redo all skills for that ship to use IFHE after T8. And to be fair, most people that start a tech tree are not going to look at what the T9/T10 ship needs "skill wise" further down the line - not at the very start of doing a tech tree. Most don't even know if they will even like that nations ships and end up doing the whole tech tree right through to T10. So why would most even think that far ahead? I mentioned the money doing it because it just looked like a greedy "cash grab" on WG part. Expecting people to buy doubloons at T9 level to redo the skills. I didn't know you could redo the skills for free with XP before, I though the only way to do it when starting this thread was by buying doubloons - until later told you can switch from doubloons to XP instead (for free) to redo skills. So that is not an issue now, I was wrong on that one.
  6. Well that's pretty much the way it goes at T10 level. Cruisers with radars will tend to head towards cap also to detect anything inside it. Better like you mentioned to skirt around the edge of cap at first and see what pops up spotted, hope you are outside radar range. Because rushing into cap usually ends up with yourself spotted and killed fast by radar ships. Cruiser with a radar and 12 guns that fire every 5 seconds is not an easy task to escape you not being killed in a DD, even when you smoke up if he's only about 8k away from you.

    Stalingrad

I would like to see Coal and Steel sold in the premium shop to make it easier to get the coal and steel needed for some premium ships. Some of us don't play in clans to get the steel for the top ships, I will never play in a clan to get it, even though I can see the "carrot they dangle" is that you need to be in a clan to get steel. And trying to earn enough coal playing random games to buy the top coal ships is too much of a choir also to do when people work jobs and don't spend all their time playing WOWS. If you collect all 3 games containers per day as Coal. You will average 1,200 coal a day (400 coal per container). A ship that cost 250,000 coal divided by 1200 is around 208 days playing. And it takes pretty much playing all day to get and open all 3 containers to get 1200 coal a day, that's not even an option to do that for many people - you could be talking well over a year to earn 250,000 coal for some. If you ask me, they should do the same as they do with doubloons sold to free up XP to buy some premiums like Nelson. Offer the option also to buy extra coal and steel with real cash.

Good DD players - Asashio - yes or no?

You will start to enjoy playing it once you get used to its unique style of play. Was a nice gesture by Yaskaraxx to gift you the ship to try out and see what you think of it.

Why World of Warships suffers in gameplay.

Ah right. Yes, I see what you mean now. That detection sign you see when you get spotted without seeing any ship in the area lets you know one is around. Actually, that never crossed my mind but you are right. Hmm, I thought the Montana could mount a radar, never had it like, the ship you got for coal but now removed at T9. I thought it was the only BB that could mount a radar I'm thinking of the Missouri
  10. Oh boy.... I bet some players figured that bug out laughing and have been milking the XP "x100" to death.
  11. MRGTB

Why World of Warships suffers in gameplay.

Well you picked a ship that uses a Radar. So yeah, he's going to spot any DD that gets inside of (I don't know) 10k if he has it swiched on. But if the radar is not in use, then you have me confused here. In the Cossack I can get to 8k away from a Montanta and then torp him (10k torps) unspotted because my concealment is 5.5k So don't get what you mean about his 13k detection radius. Unless you mean his radar switched on. But to be honest you're now picking a ship that uses a radar?

Why World of Warships suffers in gameplay.

Cossack can torp from 10k and with a concealment of 5.5. I have the DD and play it. I would say a same thing about the Asashio also which I have, but of course that is limited to CV and BB with torps. I only go for DD's that have a much longer range with torps, than their concealment. So you can stealth torp players. I don't want to drag it on about it. My point is simple, you can torp ships and they don't know it until they spot the torps close to them. Then only at that point will they try and avoid them
  13. MRGTB

Why World of Warships suffers in gameplay.

Well that's all well and fine. But some ships don't have good AA, so should we only use ships that do have good AA? Sure you don't think we should all do that just to combat CV's better. You also don't always know what DD type is waiting in smoke to torp you, so saying watch the clock timer and time his torp reload rate is impossible. Not to mention you don't even know if he took the skill or not to increase his torp reload faster. In short, that is not really something you can do. You can change ship direction when you know torps are likely to come your way after seeing a DD or Cruiser close to you. But on the other hand, you can get torped not even knowing a DD is there because of his longer torp range with better concealment than them. I have the Asashio DD that can fire 20 torps at once I think it is "using fast torp reload" after the first 10 are fired. No BB is dodging 20 wide spread torps from 6-7k out unless he's very lucky. And my concealment is 5.4, he doesn't even see them coming until to late.
  14. MRGTB

Why World of Warships suffers in gameplay.

Please explain to me how it's easy to avoid CV or Torps (if you are in the battle). The only way that can be done is by sailing to A9 (corner of maps) where nobody can spot you. Then you have everyone in game chat screaming what is that daft doing at A9.
  15. Sure, I do see the cross-over between both games in that respect, I played WOT for around 3 years on and off. That is what I mean. Carriers to WOWS, is really the same as what Arty is to WOT. Pretty much the same idea behind it with both really. If other people can't see that who have played WOT also before, then I'm surprised. Stick a large Musashi in the game with weak AA and WG know Carriers will target it as an easy target. Stick a huge slow Maus in WOT and WG know Arty will pound it as an easy target It's not rocket science... some ships/tanks and geared towards being the most appealing targets for Carriers/Arty. And they are usually what's considered the strongest ships/tanks in each game. So for me there is some game mechanics going on to not let some ships/tanks (some in particular) not have things too easy to help balance things out better
  16. I can see such a familiarly in this - with the same moaning that took place about "Arty" tanks being in WOT. Carriers in WOWS, is what Arty was to WOT. But here is the thing. I reckon Arty is there in WOT so the very best heavily armoured tanks can't rule the game making things "too easy them". I guess it's a similar thing going on in WOWS really, that you have some ships like Masashi that would pose too much of threat without Carriers in the game, they could farm damage too easy every game without Carrier to pose a serious threat to ships like that.

    Richelieu - Tier VIII

Lol So you didn't like it then. At one point I was grinding the BB before it wanting to try this ship. Glad I changed my mind and stopped doing it now after reading this thread. Just liked the look of the ship with it's gun layout and the fact it could shoot at long range. Stopped grinding towards it because lost interest in the French BB tech tree as a whole. Sounds like you only have to look at it and it catches fire.
  18. I won a medal in my last match.
  19. But you can argue that the other team might have good players also that can help swing matches in their favour. So it works both ways for both teams and more about luck of the draw with teams you land in and RNG.
  20. I don't understand how anyone can say winrate proves if you are good or bad. For starters 1 person does not win a match no matter how good you think you are, that is a fact! If you think you are, then go play 1 vs 11 and see how long you last. Winrate is dependant on how good the whole team does in a match. You also have RNG taking place in every match that can dictate the way a match even goes to a certain degree, so how can having a good winrate prove that 1 player is good? If anything, all it proves is that you've been lucky with an average of playing in better teams. I say "teams" - because no 1 person can ever win matches. If anyone thinks they can single handed, because they are that good, lol. Then they are disillusion
  21. I got 3 days of premium today. Not sure how, must have been for completing one of the mission tasks that get ticked when done.

    The hysteria surrounding Russian ships

I'm curious. Why do Russia have no BB's in their tech tree. I would have thought as both a nation and a major superpower, they do have battleships in real life the same as the Brits and Americans? So I'm surprised to see they don't have 1 single BB in the tech tree.
  23. MRGTB

    Why do people dislike stats?

Well, for starters. The Asashio is not an out-and-out capping DD. There is a reason why it can fire torps from 20k, and not only 8k like most other normal DD's. The ship can be played short or long range, plus it isn't a good capping ship anyway apart from it having good stealth to try and do it. But it's a weak ship when spotted in cap by other DD's or Radar. Has next to no chance of beating other DD's at close combat with guns, and its torps can't even damage another DD or Cruiser with a Radar near it. So why do people moan so much that any Asashio player should go rush cap for their stats padding, when it's not even designed "in his primary role" to do that job at the start of a game. The ship is designed, first of all, to go out and hunt BB's and CV's with long range torps. Then try and cap later, when safer to do so with less players left in the game. But oh no, stats players will watch the map at the very start of the game and then cry when you don't head straight for capping. Doesn't matter to them how many enemy DD's, or radar Cruiser ships are heading straight for cap also. Not as long as they get some early shots in for their stats padding, you can die for all they care.
