    March Combat Missions: British Power

I actually don't have any captains on the T4 and T7 Brit CV now, I let them both go because I don't use those CV with me having the T8 Brit CV. They will both be sold on when silver ships on Monday leaving me with only the T8 CV The captain that also came with T8 CV, I let him go as well and instead moved a 17 point captain from a BB on the CV and reset skill points and trained him for the CV on skills. The idea being when they go stock tech tree CV - then at that point he'll show as not trained for CV he is on now because it will no longer be a premium ship to move any captain on it. So I'll have retrain him back to 100% from 50% (paying 200 credits) from being a captain for a BB to the CV. My point is. The captain on the T8 CV now may have all his skills reset and done for that CV. But he is actually trained (specialised) for a BB ship still, but he could be used on the CV because it was classed as premium ship.

    March Combat Missions: British Power

Don't really understand what you mean by that? I got rid of the commander that came free with the Brit T8 CV anyway and stuck another captain on it with 17 points already and because the option was there to reset skill points before, I redid the skills for the CV. The captain on it now shows as trained for another ship though because the British CV have been classed as premium during the early access to them. So I'm thinking when they go silver ships that captain can then be trained for that T8 CV. But as things stand now, that 17 point captain on the T8 CV shows as being trained for another ship because the CV's have been classed as premium ships, which means you can't retrain a captain specifically for a premium ship. But should be able to do it for that CV with him when they go stock tech tree ships on Monday

    Ping issues

It's true. Easy to say it's peoples ISP connections. But lets look at the facts since you did this CV updates. Server crashes numerous times ever since because it gets overloaded. People only now complaining about the laggy game-play ever since this CV rework. The problem lies on WG server end because of these new CV and whatever else changes they made since, if you ask me. Why don't you run a test for a few days and roll the server back to before these CV changes was made. See if people still get the same laggy game-play before you started making all these changes to the game with CV, put it back to the old CV way for a test and see if it makes a difference?

    Ping issues

Ironically, you'll find the game runs far better if you go in COOP with no CV in matches and with less players. Try COOP with no CV on your team, and then go back to Random games with more players and CV in the match and see the difference in lag

    Ping issues

I have played some games and seen the Fire started reward pop up before my He shells even hit the enemy ship. Pretty funny, and that has happened a number of times now. I come from UK and use one of the best ISP (Virgin Media) with a high speed broadband connection. My ping shows as 23ms in-game and remains that way, it never fluctuates higher, But still everything feels really laggy Too many people have complained about lag and the game seemingly running really slow, or you get sudden freezes and then jumps forward. All this started ever since you did this CV rework. I now have to play the game on very low graphic setting, but before I played it on low setting all the time with no problems. Now I get far worse laggy gameplay on very low setting than I did before on the higher Low setting with graphics. The game runs like a laggy bag of shite now.

    Your LEAST played premium ships?

Only got two premium ships left now, sold all the others on. I've bought quite a lot as well sold on. Nelson and Vanguard left only. I play Vanguard more than Nelson nowadays to grind credits, which is the only premium got free via the air crate missions. I will probably ask to get a few premiums I've sold restored back in a few months time though. Most of them in fact if having enough credits saved.
  7. MRGTB

    My credits are bleeding away

Double check you don't use any premium consumables (upgrades) on ships, that cost you credits to replace them each match.
  8. MRGTB

    My credits are bleeding away

There's your problem right there. If neither are premium ships, then it's gonna cost you to run both. A non premium T9 BB loses credits pretty much every game unless you win the match and also have a good result in it yourself, and a non premium T8 CV, well it's just damn hard to make credits with them anyway at T8, even though it is possible. But you said - you only play the T9 ship nowadays and stopped playing the CV. Well you ain't going to make any money playing a stock tech tree T9 BB. Even with the premium skin bought for a stock tech tree T9, you'll have a hard time making any credits with it unless running a premium account also. So no wonder you're bleeding money away. If you want to make credits from stock tech tree ships, then don't go higher than T7. Anything above tier 7, then it should be a "premium ship" you're playing really if still wanting to make credits from it.

    Gasgoine vs Vanguard

I've found shooting AP from range at other BB is pretty much not worth doing. It may work on Cruisers and DD's, but not so much at BB ships. The AP only seems effective against BB ships once you get inside brawling distance and have a broadside shot on them. Otherwise like you say, it's best to just stick with shooting HE from distance at BB ships. I agree about the short fuse, I also didn't know that the Vanguard has that same stupid short fuse thing on AP shells. If the fire chance is pretty poor on the Vanguard, then they really should remove the short fuse thing on AP shells, or buff the ship on fire chance if they don't want to do that. As the ship doesn't have that much going for it gun wise then with a short fuse on AP and a low fire chance on HE shells. Not like 1/4 pen on the HE shells (with low fire chance) makes up for a poor performance on AP trying to do damage on BB from range.

    Gasgoine vs Vanguard

Actually it seems not now reading WIKI about the ship, I was mistaken on that. It does have 1/4 pen and high damage on her HE shells unlike many other nations BB shooting HE, but her fire chance is only average same as ships like Bismark - that has the same 34% fire chance as Vanguard. So no, it doesn't have any boosted fire chance. So it's not in the same league as ships like King George or Nelson for starting fires that have a high fire chance over 40%.

    Exeter - Last stage

Believe me, the Exeter is nothing special without a smoke screen for using, which it lacks. I have it from the missions and played it 3 times since. Only bothered getting it doing the missions because it can shoot HE for a RN cruiser - "collection value only" though without that smoke screen to make it a ship really worth bothering using. Slow gun reload and slow turrent traverse, along with pretty weak armour doesn't work that well together when you have no smoke screen option to use for cover.
  12. MRGTB

    Gasgoine vs Vanguard

Like Nelson it has improved fire chance starting on other ships, even if the fire chance stats are really not that impressive at only 34% (same as ships like Bismark). But it still starts fires on other ships easy enough because of that improved fire chance given to RN BB's, that a ship such as Bismark doesn't have with same fire chance 34% stats. But maybe it's worth investing 3pts on upping the fire chance anyway from 34% to 36%. HE is your best shell option used most when at range in the vanguard. So upping fire chance further for 3pts would be worth while on this ship when you consider other RN BB like KVG and Monarch have a even higher fire chance than 36%..
  13. MRGTB

    Gasgoine vs Vanguard

Install the concealment module and get the 4pt captain skill also. That brings Vanguards stealth down to 12.6k, but the ship has a shooting range of 20k. Then play the ship like Hood staying at distance, using the ships superior accuracy on distance shots (install Aiming System Mod 1 in slot 3) also to make it even better. Don't rage quit the ship because once you get used to it's style of play. It is very much (like the Hood), fast and with great (cruiser like) rudder shift time, making it a fun ship to play and you'll start to enjoy using it. But you need try and protect that broadside against other BB by staying at distance. If you have to brawl other BB point blank, then stay "head on" at it showing no broadside moving in, Vanguard is pretty strong going at another BB head on, and once close enough use AP on their broadside - which can citadel most other BB close in brawling.

    March Combat Missions: British Power

Seems not. Because a few of us have also asked what happens to the XP you earn now while playing the Brit CV when the line later goes stock tech tree ships on them. It's been asked does the XP earned now playing them with early access, such as playing the T8 Brit CV go towards unlocking the T10 CV later when they all become stock tech tree ships. No answer on it?
  15. Hmm... Suppose so then. I guess most of the tech tree (non premium) BB are nothing like those 3 premium RN BB mentioned thinking about it. No, they don't have very weak citadels like them 3 ships. But what I find with a lot of RN BB is that the AP isn't anything like as good at range compared to German, Japan and French and American BB. They lack the pen shooting at range with AP that tends to force you into using HE at range and save using AP only when close in brawling. The AP then is actually pretty good for pen when fighting close in. But at distance you get way to many shatters and bounces with RN BB shooting AP at range. So it's not that RN BB players like to spam HE all the time, it's just that the AP is pretty useless at far distance. HE is the better ammo to use then on RN BB against other BB, unless shooting at Cruisers or DD
  16. No, all depends which RN BB you are in. Actually, many RN BB are easy to cit when broadside on to you. Take Nelson, Vanguard, Hood. All three BB are known to be weak if they go broadside against the likes of American or German BB's which are far more durable. They will wreck you with AP shots. The main strength of RN BB is avoiding flashing the broadside and shooting HE at range to burn other nations BB.

    Your LEAST played premium ships?

No fun, not for a DD at T8 or higher. I won't play higher than a T7 DD now, but have stopped playing DD pretty much altogether since the CV rework. It was bad enough before with all the radar ships once you hit T8 and higher, but now with CV planes also included perma spotting you - it's not worth the agro now trying to play a DD. That lowered base detection range to planes for DD means nothing. I play CV and can tell you I know when a DD is in the area my planes are because I get "detected with nothing seen". So just fly around that area until the DD is spotted, and it will take me usually less than 30 seconds to spot him
  18. Well you can always gain the extra heal using the premium upgrade, but you can't gain a faster fire rate on secondary using any module or upgrade on Bismark. So BFT is what I would pick first before SI, then if feeling you need that extra health charge in some games. Then simply use the premium upgrade at times to get it. The only time I would pick SI over BFT on Bismark. If you don't do the secondary build and instead go for a full survivability build.
  19. Is it really worth taking Survivability Expert on a T10 Battleship? You will only gain 350HP from it on the ship. I see the point of taking it on a T7 or less tier ship when 350HP can be a decent boost to a DD or Cruiser. But 350 HP on a T10 Battleship is neither here nor there really, one shot from another T10 BB can wipe that out instantly and much more besides. Just seems a waste of 3 points to put that on a T10 BB. I mean...think about it. Putting 350HP on a T5 or 6 DD would be a lot and the ship benefits from it, but putting that on a T10 BB is literally nothing considering the damage other ships of that same tier level take off you with landed shots.

    Exeter - Last stage

Worth pointing that out. If you're on 2 kills and need that 3rd one. You can get it by ramming a ship

    Exeter - Last stage

I tried to get the 3 kills over about 12 matches using Vanguard and Icarus in COOP. Failed so tried Nelson thinking it would be too slow to get 3 kills in one match. But landed on that map where they all gather in the middle surrounded by islands, so rushed in the middle brawling them all and got 5 kills in first game with Nelson trying to do it. Nelson is good for it if you rush a pack of enemy bot ships in COOP brawling and throw careful play out the window. You have that LOL heal to last and blast only AP at close range on them all

    Exeter - Last stage

I thought getting 3 kills in one match, in the mission before it was worst one for noobs. I just finished them all now and got the Exeter. Getting the cits ended up pretty easy using Nelson. Got 5 cits in one match in COOP, then 6 cits the next match to complete it all. A tip, play COOP with a T7 BB ship and hunt the Nelsons that show up for easy cits. Took 5 and then 4 cits from one Nelson both times But it has been a huge grind just for a T5 ship, even if being a RN Cruiser that can shoot HE

    What's your captain strategy?

I would go with the French special captain if doing BB ships in both tech trees. The French captain 2 special skills are better suited I think for a good BB build. You would usually take them anyway for a BB. Improved Expert Markman and Adrenalin Rush. Especially that improved Adrenalin Rush, because ships like Alice at T9 has good secondly and that skill will make them even faster firing when you take damage than they' usually would be using that skill. And gaining a faster turret rotation than normal on a BB with improved Expert Markman is another good bonus too. The German captain has 1 of the special skills for spotting torps further out, can't think now what it's called. But you're wasting 3 points on it and not really a skill you would take in a German BB, which is more about building it's secondary guns. You can't afford to waste 3pts on that special skill doing it if you wanted IFHE used as part of a full secondary build. I think the German special captain is probably better suited to a Cruiser than a BB.

    What's your captain strategy?

How have you got 36 19pt captains trained with only 19,000 battles? I mean, 19,000 battles is not low, but seems somewhat low to have got 36 captains trained to 19pts unless you spend money doing it with experience conversations using doubloons

    Bluepill me about the Bismarck

I actually rate the Gen in a way better than Bismark with secondary guns once you get that Hull B. That hull upgrade replaces some smaller calibre secondary guns and makes them all the same matching having 30mm pen playing at T7. Some of Bismark's smaller secondary guns only do 16mm pen (I think) playing at T8 and dumped in T10 matches. Of course the Bismark has better secondary range, but overall the Gen for me has more going for it with it's secondary guns all having 30mm pen playing at lower T7. The difference between the Gen and Shorn on secondary. I think the Shorn keeps some of those smaller calibre secondary like Gen first starts out with on Hull A, but get removed on the Gen when you do the Hull B upgrade so all secondary have same bigger pen. The Gen also has torps (like Shorn and Tirpz) that the Bismark lacks for close in brawling.
