Well yeah, suppose you have a point in that BFT and AFT will also boost AA defence, along with the secondary guns. I re-looked at the skills you took and it isn't as bad as I was first thinking to be honest. See you still managed to take the best ones for planes, armour, boost plane HP and increase fire chance for HE bombs and rockets
-
I found the same thing also and ditched using sight stabilizer skill for concealment skill instead. Didn't really see that much difference using the sight stabilizer skill or not. Not enough to warrant it being a "must have" skill
-
Ask yourself how often are any DD going get near enough to your CV for the secondary build to be of any real use most of the time? Not that often and you're sacrificing too many planes skills you need in exchange to take BFT and AFT. My 2 cents, but what's the point of doing a secondary build on a CV when most of the time you'll be miles away from any enemy ships to stay unspotted in your own end of the map

Audacious, anyone made her work well yet?

Similar build to me on skills. But I take increase plane engine speed over increased torp speed for 2 points. You can already drop torps at very close range with Brit CV without really needing speeded up torps and reckon the boost to plane speed is more worthwhile being taken instead. I also don't take sight stabilizer for 4pts and instead take concealment. I did take sight stabilizer first (as an obvious first choice for 4pts), but on testing since without that skill, found I can still aim okay no problem really. So taking concealment now seems the slightly better option - mostly because you can play around with also using concealment module with it as well (now and then) and be able to move closer in unseen with CV and shorten the plane travelling distance to targets. I see your point about that "concealment module vs having more planes on deck faster", which is another reason why it's maybe worth taking the concealment skill - if using the module to get planes on deck faster. Concealment can still at least be brought down a bit using the skill for it. On your 4th module you chose to boost Torp planes (same as I did at first), but Torp planes do have the "Y" key to restore some health back for a short time when you make an attack run. So I put that 4th module on Bomber planes instead that you can't use the "Y" key to restore some plane health like you can with torp planes during the attack. Have an 18pt captain now and will use the last 1pt on the last plane skill for Versatility. Then that's pretty much all the plane "boost skills" taken in the build. -
I have both ships, had the Nelson first and then got the Vanguard free in an air container bought. Ironically, I would not have paid to get the Vanguard, as I didn't like the sound of the ship at all. But ever since getting it, now I hardly play my Nelson and much prefer playing the Vanguard instead. It's ended up being a more fun ship to play than Nelson, mostly due to it's faster speed, good handling and better gun range. If you're thinking about spending the money to either free up XP and get the Nelson, or use the money instead and get the Vanguard. Hmm, both are worthwhile choices and hard to pick between the two really, but now I would probably (having played both ships a lot) say go for the Vanguard first.

Queen Elizabeth - any point having as well as Warspite?
MRGTB replied to gustywinds's topic in General Discussion
Both ships are pretty much the same really. Both have decent secondary for their tier level, both have that slow turret transverse. There is really not much to pick between the two ships, except one is a premium earner in the Warsprite. Both ships are too similar though to play alongside one another, plus I'd say Warsprite is slightly better than QE and earns the much better credits. So it's a no brainer... -
Yeah, I noticed with the UK CV Implacable. The plane upgrades, two of them don't show any torps or bombs underneath the planes, but rockets are displayed on the 3rd set of planes. Somebody said it's because those two plane sets had torp and bomb bay doors dropped from. But funny enough, if you turn the planes and look underneath them, there is no bay doors added to the planes to even give that appearance.
-
Lmao!!! There is going to be so many premium CV in games today for those that hates CV's in matches.
-
The Graf Zep has a rep of being a decent CV to play, not sure about the Star trek ship Enterprise (where is the space camo for that).
-
Thought perma flooding was now nerfed so you have less chance of that happening?
-
You can buy them individually also.
-
Shame there is no premium UK carrier for sale after adding some to the nations stock tech tree. I actually thought there was going to be a UK premium carrier released for sale with these others, people seemed to talking on the forum previously during the early access to UK CV as though there was going to be a premium one. Guess not?

Awesome camo on the ship

t3 aa and secondary balance needs reviewed.

But a fair point was posted though. Ships like the UK Dreadnought doesn't have any AA guns at all, I mean none what-so-ever on the BB ship. So how is that supposed to defend itself if lets say two CV are in the match and they are aware that the Dreadnought has no AA guns,. They'll most likely target that ship because it's a slow BB with absolutely zero defence against any planes. -

Well most long range AA on ships starts shooting planes when they get around 7.5k, but concealment maxed out gives the planes around 9k. So don't really see what you gain ( what use it has) by lowing the concealment on planes. Not like it lowers it to be inside the long range AA bubble ships have, you still get shot at the minute your planes get within distance of ships long range AA because 9k concealment on planes doesn't go inside that long range AA bubble at all. So to me it just seems useless used on planes. If your 9k away from any ships with planes, well their AA isn't going to shoot at you anyway because long range AA doesn't even reach 9k, it doesn't even reach 8k on ships. So what use is that concealment on planes then? I have also tried not using that 4pt skill for better aiming, which I used at first. And to be honest testing without it used. I don't really see much of any difference in being able to aim at ships easy enough still without that 4pt skill - so stuck concealment on now instead for 4pts to better the CV not being detected. Also, what I've found testing, it's not worth taking the concealment module over "faster serving of planes" on the Brit CV, you'll run out of planes too easy. Better to use the 4pt skill instead for the concealment and don't bother using the module for it and keep the planes being regenerated faster on deck. I'm not even sure it's worth spending any 4pt skills on the Brit CV. Do you really need the concealment on the ship when half the time you're well outside the ships spotted range sitting at the edge of map (and is also useless used on the planes). And the 4pts for better aiming doesn't seem to make much difference worth getting it. Wonder if its best to not pick either skill and use them instead on getting all the other lesser point plane skills. -
Exactly, Arty cannot spot tanks in WOT and has to rely on team mates in normal tanks to spot targets for Arty to shoot at. Arty, more so at T10 doesn't have rapid reload of shells to fire like CV can spawn endless planes all the time. Another point as well. If enemy Arty is spotted in WOT, you can guarantee the other sides arty will go for it with shots fired right away. Spot a CV in WOWS and the other sides CV doesn't send planes right away to kill it. Arty fits into WOT far better than CV does in WOWS. There is no perma spotting ruining the game mechanics going on with arty, it is limited by a much slower reload of shells to fire, it's also much harder to hit targets with arty than it is to send planes out and drop missiles or bombs on a ship Arty also cannot hit every target spotted for it, if a target is behind a mountain then chances are the arty cannot hit it and in general is far more limited by map terrain in what it can, or can't shoot at lots of times unlike planes - which do not have that same problem with map terrain

Well it is online now

Warning!!! Never buy a Russian clock.
-
Was that your April fools joke for today.
-
The server should be online for me now, but it's down offline. Says 9am in the message my time to be back online and it's now 10am. Did WG forget the clocks went forward 1 hour the other day in the UK.
-
With 0.8.2 update. Did you fix the cosmetic issue with the T8 CV planes not showing torps or bombs on them Only rockets are displayed on upgraded planes.
-
I play the Vanguard far more than my Nelson nowadays. Both can be citadel pretty easy and a big weakness for both ships. But at least the Vanguard is a lot more agile, and much faster to dictate distance with other ships trying to get at you. I find the Vanguard somewhat less frustrating to play than the Nelson can be at times when getting focused on too much and not having the speed to get away from a crab.
-
So guess we'll see the premium CV's hit the shop tomorrow also.
-
I have decided to stop playing for WR and instead focus on having fun. Its not worth the stress or time to focus on battle outcomes!!!

What, you guys seriously play for winrates when RNG alone can decide if your team is going to win or lose a match. -
Most likely the CV just went for enemy ships that had next to no HP left on them and got 6 easy kills.
