The Australian battles would be in a commonwealth tech line I guess.. Along with a Tribal with 4x2 102mm guns (RCN)
-
don't worry I did realise.... I was playing along.. you will be back. To be honest RN DDs may not be that bad. Just ignore Hydro..I recon most players will go Speed boost. The short torp range at mid tiers may be a problem but lets see. tier 7+ look good (though 6km torps on the tier 7..mmmmm may be a little short) but as gun boats they look good, and as Gada Maja is as OP as hell another J with worse torps but same guns may just be what is necessary.

Gadjah Mada OP as hell.... IF I need kills/wins or placement in team. She is my ship of choice.... First game yesterday mission done This ship SOOOOOO needs a NERF. But I will enjoy her till then. (and probably after) -
Interesting that there is no C class in the tech tree as the only surviving RN DD of the game time period. HMS Cavalier.. I guess we will get her as a prem at some time. 4x4.5 DP guns 2x4 torps Grandad served on HMS Hermes... I will be seal clubbing for EVER at tier 4 (HMS Hermes has to be tier IV) when she comes out.
-
Shame they did not keep the historical.. buff ROF a little bit and she could have worked with the 5 guns ok A LITTLE weak from behind but hay that's the challenge.
-
What.......... I think you need to take a series look at you destroyer game play old chap. Many of the tier 5-7 DDs are very very very much torpedo boats Guede and Maass are very good torpedo boats. Aigle torps Good Torps thought they take some skill to setup Tier for tier the tier 5-7 IJN DDs are the best torpedo boats of that nation when equipped with the top Torps. Okhotnik is a amazing torpedo boat due to the shier Volume of weapons in the water.

Why compare stock .. Each ship has on Dev blog has the following text.. All stats are listed without crew and upgrade modifiers but with best available modules. The stats are subject to change during the testing. so these are Fully upgraded ships not stock ones
-
Well the Logical tier IV CV HMS Hermes did have 6x140mm guns and 4x102 mm guns. The Tech Tree Tier IV CL Danae has 8x152mm guns. Come on OLD chap better than battleships you just being silly

Not really Speed boost and flag Adds 13% to speed (8% speed boost and 5% flags) 36kn x 1.13 = 40.68knots 35kn x 1.13 = 39.55 knots again very little difference just 1.13knots
-
They may give the Pen a buff due to shell weight. at 25K shell they are heaver than any 4.7(normally around 20kg) shells you will find. and as I said the same as the USN 5inch shells. (though less than the French 127mm shells that entered service in 1956) Guessing they may just Nerf Daring surface detectability a bit before launch
-
Gearing is only 36knots.. not much difference . Daring has More HP lower detection range. Longer range guns (not sure this is a good thing) Almost same AP/HE damage but substantially higher ROF and much higher Fire chance (again not sure this is a good thing for gameplay in general) DPM of a single gun firing HE in Gearing is 36,000 on the Daring its 40,600, AP is 42000 Gearing and 50,400 Daring. Yes there daring may have less penetration but also maybe not... The RN 4.5 inch shell was very heavy in fact the same weight as the USN 5inch Torpedoes are a little lacklustre, not as good as Gearing but they do have a faster reload. She is the most stealthy tier X in game (even beats the Shima). she may just become the new Clan battles DD. Lets not dismiss her quite yet
-
Apart from 2400 extra HP 30% faster ROF on main guns and almost 20% turret rotation. torps the same over the tier 9 Full opinion on the DDs to follow

Hood VS Nelson VS Warspite, Captain trainer!
T0byJug replied to Hannibalurg's topic in General Discussion
Build up the command points as a BB commander and then re speck commander to DDs later. (always free commander re speck at clan battle times. @Hannibalurg Shame you don't have Belfast I have a 17 point RN DD commander that I take out in Belfast. Nelson and Warspite are both good.. I don't have the Hood I have a 10 and a 17 point RN DD commander. Will make a few more 10 point commanders closer to launch I have more than enough commander XP But low tier RN CL are not bad as well. I use Danae... Or Leander in OPS -
Indianapolis Marathon (01.06. - 16.07.)
T0byJug replied to __Helmut_Kohl__'s topic in General Discussion
Completed both mission in the first 2 games of the weekend. Game 1 Siapan 40+kills and game 2 Atlanta about 250-300 hits (which is a medioca game for the Atlanta.) Guys if you want to do marathons like this as easy as possible you need a ship of Every nation to tier 7 or 8 and at least one ship of every class to tier 7 or 8 DD/CA/CV/BB. No prem would be pretty doable in any CV (IJN maybe struggle) and any rapid fire Gun CA/CL... any tier 7 +RN CL should be easy -
OK title is a little Click bait. But wargaming can we restrict DDs in Ops to lets say 1 the same as CV. Everyone knows Cruisers are the best for Ops and BBs are needed to tank. CV can be a great asset. But DDs can do very little in most operations. (Some DDs are an exception but..) Get a match with 2+ DD you just do not have the DPM to complete the mission
-
Id love some replays from you old chap... as you now i do DDs but most are tier 6 or 7 DDs are useless at ops Bring back the dunkirk mission i say.. Some DD specific OPS would be amazing I don't have a hug problem with this.. If they did not it would be to easy to kill the Bot players with Torpedo Cruisers

Reform of the team damage penality system needed
T0byJug replied to Grimmblut's topic in General Discussion
This.. It happens to us all.. There is an easy work around.. Keep a tier I ship in port. (I have black swan) 2 penalty matches is 10 mins in 2 coop matches. You clean again. 7v7 and no torpedoes its easy not to do any accidental team damage as you fight bots so you can concentrate more on where you team is -
Make Radar & Hydro not working behind islands
T0byJug replied to Fediuld's topic in General Discussion
Add to this ships running aground if they are within 1 km of most land masses. also add to this that most islands do not hide ships as the ship Is higher than the island. Make 90% of all game mode in an open sea with no islands what so ever. Make aircraft spot a target at 3 or 4 times the distance a Ship can spot a ship. This is an arcade game boys and girls. Hydro and Radar is a pain but its not impossible.. Yes there is a high volume at moment and will be for a few months after USN CA's are out.. -
Will never happen.. I truly believe this is Russian bias at its best.. Mikasa the flag ship of the fleet that gave the Russian navy the biggest beating it ever had. In fact probably just about the most one sided drumming of any fleet action in history. Trafalgar the RN had about 1/10 the casualties of the French/Spanish. the French/Spanish lost 11 ships only 1 sunk (it took a lot to sink a wooden ship of the line) Battle of Tsushima 117 dead Japanese to 4380 russian.. under 500 tons of ships lost to over 125 thousand tons of Russian ships. They make Mikasa below par as a dig to the IJN and the battle of Tsushima. I really don't think they will ever buff her

You think you earned the Stalingrad? No, still have to buy it!
T0byJug replied to wilkatis_LV's topic in General Discussion
This is brilliant fantastic in fact just amazing.. thank you wargaming... @MrConway @Tuccy @Crysantos THANKYOU Why do I say this.. Well wargaming said after 3 Clan seasons we get the Stalingrad, and you still can.. Appart from what already has been pointed out you will have the stalingrad +1000 steel.. We also have been given choice.. If you dont want the Stalingrad you have 22000 steel You can buy Black for 14000 or Flint for 11,600. WE have been given CHOICE indeed with 22000 steel at a conversion of 1 steel to 10 coal you will have 220,000 coal.. 20K coal short of the Salam if you prefer a USN tier X CA over a Russian on... So to be clear before we had the offer of 3 clan seasons 1 tier X CA know we have choice of. Black or Flint or Stalingrad or 91% of the way to Salam SOOO MANY CHOICES Personally i will probably get the Stalingrad.. But to be honest holding of for a bit and getting Black instead (I am a DD player) is tempting- 34 replies

Why using oil as a gauge to determine how much coal/steel a player should get is quite a poor method & strategy.
T0byJug replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
Long but good post.. problem is whatever criteria they pick will piss people off.... But yes they must have recorded how many crates people have since realease of oil... They could reward people for what they earned... BUT..... I'm pretty sure they said at the launch of oil they told us all to get in to a clan as there would be benefits later for that oil.... -
Other thread says no... Only Oil tallied is oil in a Clan.... Shame really.
-
More intersting is can you use a mix of Coal and free XP to get a ship... with my accumulated Oil i should get around 64k coal. I have all the free XP ships and have 784 581 Free XP.... combined thats about enough for Salem.... Yep confirmed i need to get a life I play this game too much
