Thats a sweeping statement for someone with NO experience of DD play.

How close is close! As no DD has under 5 km (bets is about 5.5) detection range. Allso sit awareness can give you warning! Take a fighter as plan on BB. if you suspect DD close launch your fighter! it will increase your spotting range for DD's. DD spamming is a problem when there is a high DD count! and even then only of the opposite team has many more DD than yours. As DD's tend to run in to each other. For me the only issue is MM should not put 2 DD on one team and 6 on the other. The Variance should only be between 30 to 50% As for you playing DD's! you look to be doing the Russian DD's! stick at them they are hard to play but can be very rewarding! and remember a Russian DD's mane role is to hunt enamy DD's so help the BB's on your team and we may get less Threads like this one. In general DD's are the hardest ships to play but they are also the most fun and rewarding.

Are DD's and issue in high tiers! Sometimes yes! but thats more due to the lack of CV and CA at high tier. In conclution One thing i have noticed DD are OP threads are almost always opened by players with little or no DD experience. But most DD defenders have approximately equal games in all classes of ship. Do DD players need to change there game play! NO ALL players need to change there game play! to many players play for themselves. Most good DD players Scout and kill enamy DD's first then go for the bigger Ships. But BB players need to help themselves early game.

Look at the tank Tech trees in WOT. Its quite common for multiple lines to come down to 1 at high tier or lower tier trees to branch out to 2 or more tech trees at high tier! so why not in Ships?

I think Wikipedia is wrong with the deck mounted part! no other site says they were deck mounted and the norm for a BB was to have them mounted in the hull! also 2X1 single torp mounts seems unlikely! also i found this pic Its pretty high resolution and show th Port side of teh ship from Bow to X turret and no deck torpedo tubes! this pic is from 1941 i beleve
